  1. Okay, I got a notecard saying that it did which it did on the skins I tried and then Horus posts a picture that he just went BOM and he has a neck seam and it looks like he is using pretty decent lighting. Now, the skins I have with the neck seams and the nc to change the lighting are full BOM, meaning they are one piece with the head and body together, and the skin maker also including pictures on how the skin neck will look in different lighting. And then Horus shows a picture that he just went BOM and he has a neck seam. I'm wondering if his BOM is tattoos or the full BOM kind that looks like a yellow person icon? And/or if there is any difference between the tattoo BOM as opposed to the full BOM little yellow person icon which is not a tattoo. I'm not sure what is going on but I have been Deetalez for years with no neck seams. So I am not used to this neck seam problem. But, I need to know because I don't want to have to change my lighting just to get rid of a neck seam. But, again, the picture of Horus looks like he used quite a decent lighting but he has a neck seam.
  2. First I want to say I have not had problems with neck seams when I was using Deetalez skins. I didn't have to wear a choker for years. I have been BOM with my own skins for over a month now but since buying new heads from several makers during the Black Friday sales, I need other head skins now. Too many to just whip out and make. So I'll start with what happened here: First, I got a bunch of new heads with the Black Friday sales so have been BOM skin shopping around. I read a notecard from one skin maker with the BOM skin and it said with BOM you may get neck seams so you need to change your windlight to CalWL plus the notecard mentioned a few others. When I put that BOM mesh skin on the day before yesterday I DID HAVE NECK SEAMS and needed to change the lighting as the notecard said. So, I'm wondering what is going on there....? Last night Horus posted a photo in "What Does Your Avatar Look Like Today" and he wrote "Horus goes BOM" and there is a neck seam. I said to Horus in that thread last night..."is that a neck seam or a necklace"? He answered back it was a neck seam. I said you may need to change your lighting. It's all in the 'what does your avatar look like today' today thread. I'm wondering what lighting he used here? But, yes, some BOM skins are causing neck seams. Again, my own BOM skins did not cause neck seams. So, not sure at all what is happening here or with Horus having a neck seam. I look at thousands of photos, no neck seams. Then, when Horus goes BOM, a neck seam I see.
  3. No, you said "bake on mesh has no effect on neck seams", end quote. I never said it did. I said the lighting, the lighting...the lighting. nm
  4. I'm mentioning the need or possible need for a lighting change regarding neck seams because of all the recent "I have neck seams" threads that started about a month or so ago. Many said just change your body fat. It could be they need to change their lighting. With some of my BOM skins, I get neck seams and odd shadows if I don't turn on the correct lighting. But, as far as CalWL as an alternative lighting source, not for me...that one is way too bright. EEP is not out in Firestorm yet I don't think but when it comes out, I hope there are some improved lightings for BOM skins that are just prettier, no so bright and blinding.
  5. That's not what I said. I never said BOM was causing a neck seam? I said with BOM we need different lighting or we could get a neck seam. I'm tired. Please re-read what I said. I also said CalWL is too bright for me and that I also read Annon Adored Optimal Skin No Shadow may not be enough to make the neck seam go away. I said it was the lighting causing neck seams.
  6. I have but I make unusual shapes of head for my fairy shapes. I try all kinds of unusual shapes but sometimes you cannot have your brow too big plus other sliders under head or it won't work, and you have to move the sliders down for it to fit or get an unrigged hair. But, yes, even your brow too much, the hair won't fit, or the squash head or forehead heavy, etc, is a no go either. I make all kinds of unusual shapes but they do not work with many of the rigged hairs.
  7. That's great! I probably with my Photoshop skills now could make invitations for real life or all kind of graphic thingies. What I really did learn here is it far, far easier to make my Shabby Chic furniture in real life than it is on a computer. Far, far easier in real life. Sometimes in real life I could make beautiful things with just a needle and thread. You cannot do that on a computer. It's way more difficult to make things on the computer.
  8. Moving day...good day for Khaki. Some Khaki is a green too in America and also know as army green but called Khaki too. We have two Khaki's in America.
  9. A downside with BOM skins I just found out yesterday is that you have to use certain lighting in the ENVIRONMENT EDITOR or you will get a neck seam. I was reading the nc and it said may need CalWL or some such lighting (can't remember other name at this time) to avoid a neck seam. It also said Annon Adored Optimal Lighting may not always be enough to avoid a neck seam. I find CalWL to be too bright for my eyes. Any possible known fix for this in the works? LL or it's new buyers are really going to need to let others know they will have to change their lighting to view some BOM skins without a neck seam because a lot of people don't even read notecards so maybe skin designers should put as part of the skin name read notecard so people will read the notecard, such as "Britnany Skin - READ NOTECARD". I hope EEP gives us some better lightings for BOM skins than CalWL which is too bright for me.
  10. Is that a seam at the neck or a necklace? If it's a seam, some BOM skins you have to change the lighting. I just found that out yesterday myself.
  11. So, those rings ARE or AREN'T available in Second Life?
  12. I love Tram and do put my own x/y/z resizer in them as sometimes the Tram hairs only have an enlarge or decrease script. So, I rez my Tram hair to the ground and put in my own x/y/z/ script. Once on the ground, I can also edit the hair piece by piece. If it's an unrigged Tram hair in your inventory or that you would like to buy it just may be modifiable piece by piece because mine are. Send a nc to the seller if you are unsure if it is full modify but I use many Tram hairs and they all are fully modify - piece by piece. In this photo below, I put some strands on transparent and made them invisible - you cannot buy a Tram hair like the one below because I personally modified it. This is the Tram hair available in the unrigged section with the hairs that go across the face and nose but I made those strands invisible as you can see. BUT, speaking of fitting, still fitting things but took a rest - it's moving day for me.
  13. Before LittleMeJewel gets back to you, you could try Emo-Tions for flexi-hairs. Analog Dog has some spiral flexi curls, too. I have three of Analog Dog Hairs and they do move quite nicely for photographs; however, backwards I cannot remember. You will have to try the demos. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/21429 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/4214
  14. I wanted to expand on my post above this one about the 8 or 9 skins (I still haven't counted them all yet) at WOW skins if you join the group for 199 lindens - they are full BOM skins which I forgot to mention. Full BOM skins have the little yellow person icon and it means the head is attached to the body. You don't use tattoos. You don't need separate skin for the body. As far as some of these skins above for Origins, yes there are some good skins for the older Origins heads at those. But, also as far as Izzie Button's nose fix, I bought it and it works great. Izzie has a lot of nice not too expense items to fix up your BOM skins for a better fit. She also has concealer and several other items. As far as all those skins above at WOW skins too, don't be afraid to adjust your shape to suit the skin. If you like to play with different shapes, this really is a good deal. So, I'm just passing it on.
  15. I bought 7 heads with all the Black Friday sales, so I have Catwa, Lelutka and LAQ heads now. So, anyhow...I needed new skins for my new Lelutka and LAQ heads. So, I tried the applier skin thing with my Lelutka and got totally bogged down in lag compared to BOM. I have been BOM for at least a month now with my Catwa I had pre the Black Friday sales. Anyhow, I have been skin shopping as I am certain after experiencing that terrible lag, I want my Lelutka head to be BOM even though it's an older one it has a BOM button. So, I found the skin I want but while shopping I came across WOW Skins and their deal there is pretty fantastic. At WOW Skins you can get something like 8 or 9 BOM skins if you join the group for 199 LINDENS. I thought that was a very good deal. I tried all those WOW skins on my Lelutka only so far and really like two; I haven't tried them on my other heads yet. They come with shapes also but I don't know if the shapes look like the pictures or not. Anyhow, I thought it a great deal for anyone who wants to try out some BOM skins and you get at least 8 BOM skins for the 199 it costs to join the group. You get a group gift one near the desk plus look on the wall to the left right when you walk in the door, there are a whole bunch of BOM gift group skins there. In short though, the lag is dramatically reduced with BOM! It's like getting part of SL back to us, the old SL. YAY!
  16. We have lots of "sisters" in my family, so we can add you for sure! Most of my cousins are female and are like sisters as well as all our best friends and sisters-in-law are sisters too! What is a boho. Well, it's not quite like a hippie although much of the fashion is inspired by the hippie era. Even look at the clothes for Fall/Winter 2020/2021 and you will see elements of the boho style still thriving much of today. Although, I will have to say, it is most definitively a style that is popular in the Southern California area especially shopping at Venice Beach, the sacred walking grounds of the late Jim Morrison which is still very much boho-influenced in the entirety of it's shopping boardwalk. We have boho styles here everywhere in Southern California from Melrose to just about everywhere. Extreme fringes are in for Fall/Winter 2020/2021. The boho style, I personally think, at least where I live, could be considered a classic. You could look up clothes by Free People to get a bit of an idea of what a boho is. Modern day Boho's could be split on whether we should use any "animal" skins, however. I wear faux suede. The hippie's wore real fur. I don't like that too much. Here's a bit about it: Unlike hippie, the Boho style has no political origins. It, however, stems from an aesthetic origin. Even though some of the Boho fashion roots can be linked to the hippie fashion, its personality and lifestyle have been embraced by women in a huge way. It supports femininity and therefore, far from being unisex.
  17. To tell the truth, I have never worn an ugly Christmas Sweater in my life. My youngest sister does - she's a school teacher. I guess she wears those at school or PTA meetings. I am absolutely not a fan either of ugly Christmas sweaters - never ever wore one. I'm a boho in real life...I don't live the school teacher life like my youngest sister.
  18. As the title goes...rigged or unrigged hair...which do you prefer? Also, what are the pluses of rigged hair as opposed to unrigged hair for the user and for the creator? Me - I like unrigged hair. I am not digging this rigged hair. I don't want to have to change my head shape to accommodate a hair. Plus, if your unrigged hair is copy and modify you can add your own personal x/y/z resizer script too~! Which I do a lot.
  19. Just wanted to say sometimes the LIKE doesn't go through and it needs to be double clicked. I will check more carefully sometimes as I missed a few and thought the LIKE HAD gone through. Urgh on that! Hmmmmmm, I'm thinking about starting a lingerie challenge. Well, I did some lingerie photos and maybe it would be fun to have a challenge thread for lingerie photos. This is the last one's I have for now though. I also wanted to share I have far less black then many would think because I am a fairy or an elf a lot of the time. Black is the least of the colors I have and I don't have very many fatpacks at all. But, I'd rather buy each color for this challenge anyways as it goes along.
  20. This is a bit of me being a lingerie model...probably not going to do this very often nor pursue it as a SL career as I am sure there is a lot of it already, but I gave it a go just to try it, and then I'll move on. The photos are taken by me not someone else.
  21. Very Audrey Hepburn....just spectacular! So much talent in this thread!
  22. This is the best way to search for YOUR body type of clothing on Marketplace: First type the name of the body in the Marketplace search box, whether you are going to use Legacy, Maitreya or which ever. Then after you type in your body look to the left side on the Marketplace page for the word APPARAL, click on that word and then you will get a submenu. Next click on WOMEN'S and then you will get another submenu that has tops, bottoms, outfits, dresses, footwear, etc. You can then choose from those submenus and all that you brought up will be for either Legacy or Maitreya including the footwear.
