  1. Whatever I say goes. (There is a hidden meaning behind my words. You can go ahead and find it if you want.)
  2. Or to put it more precisely, an Extraterrestrial. It's fun being an extraterrestrial in Second Life. I don't even "act weird" (because I'm naturally a weird person in "real life" anyway.) I'm just acting as my real personality with an otherworldly body.
  3. I'm sorry...maybe this topic was in bad taste.... --- You guys seem very opinionated on this! I read all your opinions - pretty interesting.
  4. (And I guess this applies to most members of the royal families of limited/constitutional monarchies.) He's basically an ordinary person in an extraordinary set of unwanted circumstances. He's a regular Joe Schmoe with a set of titles he inherited which are only good as status symbols. And yet, he still seek to use these titles (which were forced upon him) as a vehicle to advance goodwill such as humanitarian causes.
  5. I think by cute humor I mean stuff that is wholesome like pictures of cute animals or something like that.
  6. (Besides the fact that it's bad.) I tend to laugh only at stuff that comes at the expense of others...but I actively avoid wholesome forms of humor such as "cute" humor. I guess that's the reason why I have such a bad sense of humor in the first place....
  7. I watched one of the British dudes get chased by a tiger and called him a "chicken"...is this bad?
  8. Ah, I see. Thanks for the info and Happy Pi Day to you, too!
  9. 3/14 or March 14 is Pi Day! (In Europe, 22 July, or 22/7, is Pi Approximation Day.) How many digits of Pi have you memorized? I have memorized 11 digits of pi in Base-Ten: 3.1415926535. I believe that's enough precision to estimate the circumference of a sphere the size of Earth (give or take a few molecules).
  10. Some of my avatars that are not conventionally visually pleasing are my obese human male, my grey alien (which is my main account), and my fishman monster (sahagin.) I usually do this to see how people react. I usually get a positive (or a joking one at least) reaction and I think that's great. However, I think there's a few psychological reasons why I do this. I think it's partly to rebel against the idea that you have to use visually pleasing avatars in Second Life - which almost everyone else does. I guess it also offers a nice change of pace from the "pretty woman" avis I also use often. Curious what your thoughts are on this. P.S. Don't worry, I know I usually don't respond with a post (as referenced by a reply in my last topic) but I'll make sure to offer a smiley reaction and I will try to type a reply to you this time.
  11. It's almost at the Red Planet! Should touchdown sometime in the afternoon time in eastern North America. Can't wait!
  12. I'm sorry, I might not fully understand your question, but I'll try to answer to the best of my ability. I don't know if the pain he felt will make me a better human being. I did feel the man's suffering, but I don't know if I can be better because of that. I might forget the feelings that I felt soon like it never happened. I don't know what I can learn from this event. I mean, sure I can say in response to your question "that I learned it's bad to cause harm to others" but I already know that because it's against the law. The problem is, I guess, whether I actually not want to harm other beings from an emotional, altrustic standpoint and not just because of an innate fear of repercussions. I don't know if the pain will make me more caring. Like I said before, I struggle to care about many things. I know that I will at least try to be more ethical, but like I said before it could be because I only have ethics because of a fear of punishment. I think empathy can coexist with a sense of judgement. I also think it's good to understand what others are thinking - at least to satisify my curiosity about psychology and philosophy. It helps me to understand people. Sorry if my answers are unclear or not what you're looking for. Overall, I think what I'm getting at is that it's just hard to understand my emotions and if they are truly genuine or not.
  13. ...every time I remember that police officer's face as he was suffering in total agony while being crushed during the storming of the U.S. Capitol, it makes me want to cry. I've been desensitized to the suffering and grief of others for the most part, but something about that pained face haunts me.
  14. Many people are concerned about sustainability with regards to the environment and its resources. Some experts say that a diet focused on sustainability consists mainly of plant-based foods and avoids animal-based ones (although I believe experts say there are some animals which can be used as a sustainable food source - insects for example). Do you personally think you can switch to a sustainable diet? I don't know if I personally can. I'd have to wean myself from some of my favorite foods in order to have a healthy, sustainable diet.
  15. Sometimes people in Second Life think my voice is weird. I agree with them - I guess it's because it's still awkward for me to voice. So I'm definitely not a good voice actor.
  16. I don't know if this has been posted yet, but there's a theoretical physics concept called the "holographic principle" that's gaining momentum in some circles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_principle It states the universe is a projection similar to a hologram. You'll have to ski9m through it yourself to probably get a better idea. One of the things this physical model does its bridge two incompatible, but accepted theories: general relativity and quantum mechanics.
  17. Before modern times, there was the Stone Age. Then there was the Agriculture Age. For a while humanity was concerned with the collection and manipulation of matter (i.e. tool-making and agriculture.) Then eventually, we had the Industrial Age, where the collection and manipulation of energy was the main driver of the economy (i.e. steam engines, automobiles, etc.) Finally, the time we live in is called the Information Age, in which the collection and manipulation of information is the main driver of the economy (i.e. Computers and the Internet.) But what do you think will come next?
  18. Is it bad that I enjoyed the T-X (played by Kristanna Loken) getting beat up by Arnold Schwarzenegger?
