Of course you should stick with MS Windows, it is the most widely used Operating System, the easiest one and when it comes to support you don't need to become a computer technician to figure things out. Linux is nice but definitely not easy for the average user and MacOS .. well it's MacOS.

Never had an issue saying who i am and i have met people from SL in real life so i am certain they also have shared my RL info with others, but I can understand why most women and plenty of men avoid telling who they are and i can agree with them since there are plenty of Online lunatics regardless of gender who "fall in love" or whatever and eventually do all kinds of nonsense. Some people do take SL very seriously and you need to keep that in mind especially if you are the type of person who likes to socialize over facebook, instagrram etc . I don't use such stuff so don't really care.

It works just fine in Ubuntu (and Archlinux.) In regards to SLVoice all you need to do in ubuntu is sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 sudo apt install -y libidn11:i386 libstdc++6:i386 libuuid1:i386 zlib1g:i386 gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio:i386 (just remember the SLVoice offered for Linux is a very old version and there will be no updates so it will be buggy, best thing to do is install wine version) I keep them both for debugging reasons.
