  1. Bumping this since it fell to the second page. Since the houseboats have been sold out.
  2. Why do you want to give it up? If the reason is that you want a houseboat, then find my thread titled "House Swap".
  3. Thanks for all the input so far, I love to ask the "why" of things and learn about people's wants, needs etc. I owned an A frame Tahoe home for a couple weeks when I became premium. Then I abandoned it, in hopes of getting on the new continent. It took a week of refreshing to hopefully get an abandoned house on the new continent. However, I got an abandoned houseboat. I'm hoping to temporarily swap it with someone who has a traditional home. (See my thread "House Swap"). But if I have to stay in the houseboat for now, I'll adapt and make the best of it. Sometimes things happen for a reason and I may get some great new friends. πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ
  4. You made me laugh hard @ stray naked avatar looking for a sexual encounter lol. I can just imagine that avatar walking without an AO and IMing anyone that is on their radar.
  5. Too bad LL can't gather up some building and scripting volunteers to help them work on the next batch. A cheerleading team would be great too!!
  6. So, the old communities didn't have a well thought out navigation plan?
  7. Despite being not attractive which can sometimes be fixed, would you have felt more homey in it with more prim allowance?
  8. I think with the double prim allotment may entice people to make the new continent their home and not just a changing room, etc. I think that may have been a big obstacle with the old homes, too low of prim allowance.
  9. I'm wondering if the old houses had a sense of community or did people keep to themselves? What makes the new continent better? Just wondering how the "olden days were" and why we are so excited for this continent. I hope not just because of new and shiny. I'm a new premium member and the places that I use to rent never really had a sense of community. The landlords would have some events but hardly anyone showed up. I've only been in sl 5 1/2 yrs and have always longed for community. But most say that happened in the early yrs of sl and I missed out. I really hope this attitude of bonding, friendliness and community lasts. 😍
  10. No matter what LL does, there will always be people to find a problem with something. Can't please everyone. I think that they did a great job.
  11. For myself, not a big deal if someone abandons the place that I'm temporarily living in. I'll just go to my house boat and live....or try to swap again with someone else. I just go with the flow. Less stress and drama that way.
  12. That's between the swappers, if two people can't come up with a civil temporary swap agreement then not our problem. It's their problem. This idea is my hope for mature people to come together and have a civil agreement that is mutually beneficial. If they start drama.....not my circus.
  13. Exactly...and am sure the swappers will change the colors, etc for the person.
  14. That is not the intention of my post. This is for only temporary until we are able to get our true desires later.
  15. Just a temporary swap until things calm down and the swappers are able to get what they originally wanted in their own name.
  16. Lol. I know. Thread will probably get locked if people don't behave. I have hope in humanity that this all can be civil. If people get catty and misbehave then I'll edit the original post to just myself seeking.
  17. For those who have one of the new houses or house boats. If you are interested in swapping with someone who has what you want, then express your interest in this thread. Do NOT IM anyone in world unless they authorize it. Obviously, you will need to trust the person that you're swapping with. You'll both need to give each other rezz rights. No money is to be exchanged as that is against terms of service. Talk it out and swap with someone that your gut feeling is to trust. Quote the person to express interest to swap. Be patient. Wait until they're able to discuss. RL always comes first. Try to make it easy by using the below as the format to express your interest. Name: ClariceRose Has: House boat willing to swap for a traditional home. No IMs unless I tell you. Otherwise they will be ignored.
  18. Not sure if this is possible with TOS but can some people do a house swap? Give rezz rights to each other and live there until we are able to get what we really want in a few months when things calm down? No money to be exchanged, just a friendly swap?
  19. Someone abandoned it and when that happens, it goes up on the page.
  20. I had a houseboat in my grasp few hours back then lost it on the confirm page...same thing just happened with a traditional home 15 min ago.....but (drum roll).. I just got a house boat for real this time!! After a week of trying. I'm hoping to get a traditional home in the next roll out, but for now I'm happy to have more prims and live in a great community!! Yay! For those wondering, someone abandoned it and when that happens, it is up for grabs on the page.
  21. Can someone please put a map url of a spot where I can zoom and see all of this. Thanks so much!!
  22. I've been waiting too but being very patient. I abandoned my old home last week and have been homeless. Know what? It's fun. It's also giving me a lot of time to window shop and figure out how I'll decorate it. When you're in a situation that you don't necessarily care for, list the positives of it. Look on the bright side. Just think, there are many people in rl who don't have a new home or anticipating a new one.....let's be grateful for what we have. Not having a new Linden home should be the least of our worries in life.
  23. I'm not a professional photographer in RL or SL but what I have learned is to make a picture interesting to the eye. There are many ways to do this, whether it be by lighting, the subject, the background, shadows, etc. Looking at your Flickr, my eyes were drawn to these photos, meaning that I found them interesting: https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/47652817132/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/32737087817/ (the windlight could be better though) https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/33802598278/ ( I really like this one) https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/40624649933/ (would be better if the door on the left was cropped out) https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/32461164377/ (would be better with a darker windlight to create some shadows or can do via photoshop) https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/46456960045/ (love the costume but needs a better background and lighting) https://www.flickr.com/photos/156313823@N07/32211501217/ ( I like this one) I agree that the windlight used in many of the pictures, is way too bright. I'm learning as I go with pictures myself, you're on your way
