Just like to mention that I still have the last separate Slink feet that were available before Siddean Munro exited SL, and they still fit on the current Maitreya and Lucybody bodies that I use, and so the shoes made for them from way-back-then are still usable. I'm currently going back through my old wardrobe and finding lots of much-loved shoes. (shoeaholicism (oniomania) is serious illness...) I miss Siddean's stuff...

Does this mean it won't run on my IBM System/360 any more?

I know it's not as much fun as moaning, but I wanted to relate a little event that happened to me this week. Back in 2017, I won a pair of shoes from a shop in SL for my avatar. The shop sold them with a limited set of 9 textures, sort of basic set, and that's what I won. They also sold an add-on set of lots more colours, but I didn't buy that. I noticed this week that on this Creator's MP shop the same shoes are now discounted, and the add-on set are now free! I still wear these shoes, so I got the add-on. It's about now that I realised that I don't have the original package for the basic set any more - it went in one of my clean-ups. So I head to the re-delivery in-store. Sure enough, there it is. But when I get to Caspervend there is a problem, so I send a notecard to the Creator. Not only do I get a copy of the basic package within a day, but a nice note thanking me for pointing out the Caspervend issue (which is now fixed). That's what you call 'Customer Service'. Not everyone in SL is out to get you! The name of the store? I can't say that here due to the rules, but 'infant primate' might help you guess...

I went to get a redelivery of something from 2017. Landed in the new interface, and was told 'Internal Error'. I tried a few other things at the same store and got the same, then asked for my SL name and put through a registration of a new password conversation. It looks very like an intercept scam, except I get a secret number in-world. Has this been announced somewhere and I missed it?

I always find laughing at American 'democracy' is a joy. You make all that fuss about 'for the people, by the people', and then elect dictators who just do 'for our rich friends and their bigoted opinions, by the people who are funded into politics by them'. Let's all hope the rich bastards of America don't start to think SL is another source of wealth - or something that offends their warped pseudo-Christian sensitivities - when they do, we are dooooomed.

I've moved to Cool VL Viewer (Merci, Henri) for just this issue. And the constant thrashing. And I have 32Mb of memory. Arch Linux on AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with Nividia GTX 1080 Ti - not the latest I know.

I'm moving from Firestorm to Cool VL Viewer. I won't go into the reasons, mostly they are driven by my Linux needs. This means that I need an AO, I have been using the built-in since before the flood, and my inventory only contains a very ancient ZHAO II AO. Amazingly this still works really well, but I wonder if there is something hugely better out there. I do not need to buy any animations, I have a good selection that works for me. What does the team suggest?

What kind of crash? I get a freeze of SL, and then after about 60 seconds, 'You have been logged out'. I wish it would really crash, then I wouldn't waste 60 seconds thinking I was still on-line! (Ryzen 7 2700X, 32G, GTX 1070ti, Archlinux) I had put it down to the Linux, but it could be the GTX1070ti, I guess.

It's really rather sad how the market works these days. The days of proper free market competition seem to be over both in RL and SL. There are products that are just so dominant that no one else can get a look in. Catwa comes from the era of free market competition, but the arrival of EvoX eclipsed it. Tell me where I can get a cell phone that isn't made by Crapple and running IOS or something paying Alphablot to run Android? Yes there are niche players, you can even get a Linux phone, but market share 0.0...1%, and profitability zilch. I'm really sorry Catwa didn't jump on the EvoX bandwagon. Look what happened to Slink. But this is the same everywhere, freedom is over folks.

No one mentions it, but Lucybody have a couple of mesh heads at 500L$. I already have several EvoX Lelutka heads that I like so I have not bought one, but the demos looked okay.

Thanks @Rowan Amore, I did check the Status page, but, as usual, LL is a bit (pronounced 'extremely') slow on that. It arrived in the end, so all's well.

I bought something on MP for an alt, it was quicker than giving it some money (or so I thought). 3 hours later it has not arrived. It's from a reputable seller with a thriving in-world business. How long is reasonable to wait before starting to complain. The L$ has gone from my account, and shows in my transactions.
