  1. I've read they are pretty strict about being associated with chi#@ po@#graphy SL has been on Amazon Web Services for years now. Just a reminder. Sorry but - this feels like a major derail. This thread is not really about where you are taking it: torture, murder, illegal CP, etc.
  2. Why? Don't be afraid. SL is the same as it has always been. AWS gets paid. SL is not violating any "terms", users are violating LL's "terms". * falls off soapbox clumsily, to the song "Clumsy" by Fergie *
  3. The maturity rating of the place could be an initial clue. Probably, just search for "G" places.
  4. After this discovery, how does that make you feel about Linden Lab and Second Life? Will you continue to monitor the area? Will that be your second life objective from now on? Was that your primary objective? Will you trust your abuse report will be taken seriously? What will you do if you feel your concern is not taken seriously? Will you learn not to care? Will you find other ways of being taken seriously? Will you be banned for expressing too much emotion? Will this knowledge totally destroy you? Will you try to destroy our world? If you feel no action is taken, then what? When I google how to handle this sort of situation, google appears to not take responsibility for underage related sexual content and passing the buck to governments to take their own action. What do you propose? Simply sending in Linden inspectors to get confirmation and offer solutions to the region owner. Warning this is not allowed. You are at risk of being banned. Please update your family definition to include family members must be in adult form and yada yada. Or should Regions that are rated Adult have a convent that makes it clear the terms of service regarding this topic and *****. Linden Lab and Second Life workers obviously know these types of areas exist. Are they part of the "family"? My concern is, if the OP is searching multiple "family nudism parcels/regions on SL", that there could be an unhealthy curiosity. If you stumble upon one, fine. If you search for another to confirm they exist, fine. If you find yourself searching for, and possibly reporting, multiple places then..perhaps it's time to stop searching.

  6. The link to the policy clarification was easy to find using Google, from the text Rowan provided, unfortunately the title contains the redacted word. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Clarification_of_policy_disallowing_ageplay
  7. @Tirips, To be specific, this was my suggestion; if you did not put the llSetTimerEvent(0.0) exactly here, that could explain why it did not work: if (message == "off") // hearing "off" turns prim dark grey -- ideally indefinitely until prim hears "reset" { llSetColor(<0.2,0.2,0.2>,ALL_SIDES); llSetTimerEvent(0.0); // <<== Add this line here } And, I believe this was @Fenix Eldritch suggestion; this would fix your code so the timer only runs ONCE for each "new command": timer() { llSetColor(<1.0,0.424,0.710>,ALL_SIDES); //resets color to pink llSetTimerEvent(0.0); // <<== Add this line here }
  8. One "nice" thing ("benefit") of "witty" last names is, they may be more memorable. Remembering a lot of friends named "Smith", "Jones", etc. may be difficult.
  9. Suggestion: Don't search for places that have questionable activities. If you happen to stumble on a place with questionable activities, you can always report it.
  10. On the subject of Names, refresh my memory (I still have DRAM): when I was a cub - and last names existed (long before "Resident"), I'm pretty sure we also either a) had to pick first names from a list, or b) first names were checked to see "if allowed". (Then with either a or b, the combination had to be available / unused). Isrite? Or memory chip fail?
  11. Have the listener do 2 things for "off": - llSetColor(..); //for the "off" colors. - llSetTimerEvent(0.0); // This will turn "off" the timer. I see you are already setting a color for "off", maybe you just need to add: llSetTimerEvent(0.0);
  12. A "seafarer" is just anyone who travels ("fares") on or across "the sea"! Like, a "sailor". Or "seaman" (but not gendered).
  13. I keep one or two, as my only memento of *sniff* my old *sob* SL family..*wahhhhhh!!!!*
  14. Do you mean to tag @animats? (Saw the same happen earlier, too. Just letting you know!)
  15. Personally, I think letting someone change their name back, just encourages poor decision-making.
  16. Another possibility: the archive is hosted on an old legacy hardware / OS that LL is unable to update. It's gone flaky, predating some of the now-modern security. LL just doesn't plan to migrate it to a new host.
  17. They are toying us, changing settings in response to what is posted on this thread. Cover your computer's camera, quick!
  18. Recently heard about the post-apocalypse robot animated series, "Love Death + Robots". Plus, there's the movie "AI"..
  19. Just heard this week's "Freakanomics Radio" episode, with the topic being "profanity" and it's evolution in our society. Brought up briefly was the trend for replacement of "taboo" words, example given being the replacement of "homeless" with "unhoused". Peeve, which was not mentioned in the show: the trend of using "unalived". While I usually assume "unalived" is used to bypass YouTube automated censors for the word "killed", I've got bad news for anyone who thinks they too, may not one day be "unalive".
