[Resolved.] Billing Process
Alwin Alcott replied to TinabunsSweettooth's question in Linden Dollars (L$)
i see no actual maintenance... all is resolved. If it doesn't work it must be something different. I tried it and all works as it should. -
hello can tell me how many clubs in one sim?
Alwin Alcott replied to lorena Frentis's question in Land
next to the visitors a sim can handle you have to look where the sim is. At mainland there are hardly rules, so you can start one everywhere you want, but it's wise to keep an eye on the traffic, so you won't shut out other people who live on the same sim, or use too many sim resources so you lag the sim down. At private estate sims it's a different story,... there the owner decides how many ánd íf you are allowed to run a club. Residental sims will for sure not allow it. Most others mostly only one. At the mainland Linden Homes it's totally forbidden. -

Is film streaming illegal?
Alwin Alcott replied to Kimmy Sweetwater's topic in General Discussion Forum
Rhonda Huntress wrote: OK, so in SL, if you have legal access to the movie (rented, bought the DVD, paid for the stream, whatever) and you can take normal precautions to limit who sees it such as keeping it inside a home, your fine. Don't advertise it and do not have it on land that cost for access. Renting and buying a DVD does only give the right to watch it in your own home, in a family setting, absolutely no broadcasting in any way. Streaming is making it public. Even on a limited access stream by VPN, you take it out of the home and family setting. -
Is film streaming illegal?
Alwin Alcott replied to Kimmy Sweetwater's topic in General Discussion Forum
in addition to Freya's perfect answer... In GB people got fined for 71000 pounds .... IN USA between 1000 and nearly a million... for sharing content where they didn't own rights for... Your choice, your risk... but.... 99.9% of all DJs in sl also spread their music illegal, so what's the real risk... using vpn is legal ... -
as far i know Windows Mediaplayer can not stream in the way you want, to SL, but only in a home network. If you going to stream weekly it can be worth thinking about a dj program like Virtual DJ ( several subscriptions, also free) it has a build in streaming service and pretty easy set up to go online. Next to that, to prevent a overload on your machine it can be wise to rent a stream server. It's only a few dollars when you subscribe inworld.

you can keep posting this but if you don't give more information nobody will be able to help. It's the 4th time. And the information you give is pretty limited. Did you sell L$ they will not automaticly go to your paypal, but you need to process credit. If they are in progress, there's a huge chance LL did send you a request for additional information. If you don't provide that you also will not get your money. Have a look at your support page to see if you missed requests.

I want to create a free texture website
Alwin Alcott replied to Kakukkfu Yosuke's topic in General Discussion Forum
ehm... textures are everywhere on SL ...but.with already 109648 on MP, and several hundreds of thousends inworld what is it you going to add to that? Type seamless texture in Google and go to the image tab ... Your most important question should be if it's worth the trouble to try this too. And if you think it is, start at MP and open a place inworld. A very basic vendor will do for textures. -
you can not just remove your payment info to stop being premium. You agreed to automaticly renew it at the moment you subscribed. You think you switched to basic, but you did certainly not by this action and brought some trouble on yourself. You should have downgraded before it expired. Now your new subscription started and you are in debt with LL. You can try to contact support if they can be of any help, but i am not sure they will. If they don't ánd you don't pay, your account will be locked.

Freya Mokusei wrote: Sorry, I don't understand any of that. Tax isn't my area and I struggle with a lot of these terms. It sounds like your claims are in opposition to the page I linked, which states:- What are the items for which Linden Lab charges VAT? Anything that you pay Linden Lab for will have VAT applied. This includes: Purchases from the Land Store Land use fees (tier) Private Region fees Land auctions LindeX™ transaction fees Are you saying this page is incorrect? Or something else? no i say exactly the same... transaction fees are services, so taxable. But fees are not the exchange itself, so the xchange itself isn't , but only the 40 cts .. it will be hardly worth the efford to use that on your taxes. Not even thinking about the costs it makes to get that info ... pretty useless, the proof of buy by email confirmation and CC bill will be more than enough for tax inspection. I can't imagine it will be substantial for business expenses. If you would buy every day in a month it's 20 $, For a business just a expense, not a cost. Next to that i really doubt you can even use it for your taxes, unless it's the selling part, buying inworld is 99% no business to business transaction but personal, so you can't put your investment against your spending for goods in SL. Only the land costs and income and transfer to RL will be interesting for the tax office. ( to be able to use the VAT rules, both buyer and seller, need to be acting on business level, and in SL thats pretty rare)

Freya Mokusei wrote: My understanding (being also based in Europe, and subject to VAT) is that what LL typically do is associate a VAT number with your account and then remove VAT from all charges. I don't think they produce VAT invoices, but I'm not certain. VAT is never really removed, they only don't pre-collect it for the government/tax office, you will always have to use the bought items/services for your own tax forms ( as company) The net value for sales and buying determens the amount you get or pay. Goods from outside the EU have to be cleared by customs, mostly you also get a "invitation" to pay for that, it also a form of VAT. and i repeat.. for buying L$ there is no VAT. Also when you rent from a non company in SL there's no VAT, it's considered inclusive, only companies can split it in delivery and tax.

just bought a new sim but can not get music , any ideas to help me ?
Alwin Alcott replied to redsummer Diamond's question in Creation
add stream info to the about land window, just as on every land on SL. There is no window to add music in the estate tools, it's only parcel managed. Be sure your filters are not enabled in your viewer.- 1 reply

you have to check, but now i read your post most carefully... as far i know there is no VAT on L$ exchange. So also no invoice that's to be used for taxes. Only sales and services are taxable, money exchange isn't. (except income)

i totally agree with Adam in this, but not with what you say: " I have a reason to suspect" do you have a reason to suspect ...OR do you have proof? Only the last will get things rolling, because there are more reports form people trying to get revenge for some reason than real problems with what you suspect is happening. Also keep in mind, child avatars are no children, it are adults. Only when they are breaking the rules concerning age play there will be a violation.

what merchant? what happened?... your post doesn't give lot of info

the doors to my sl castles, won't close. what should i do?
Alwin Alcott replied to GabrielleVanDerMalle's question in Technical
reset the scripts in the doors -
of course it's possible the hardware where the sim is on is damaged but better check first if theres nothing rezzed or rezzing what crashes it. Contact support if it keeps happening, you'r a concierge user so thats priority help.
