  1. There is of course no way to measure, but the fact that your products can be viewed inworld may be the reason for some of your MP sales.
  2. It would be especially nice if the person that registers the name could decide which other residents can use it. Of course every new resident with that name would still pay for it to Linden Lab.
  3. Yes, that puts a serious limit on the usability as a family name, but one can probably find a creative way around that…..
  4. I think your right about the possible disaster, collecting fees would be a hassle. But it could be a nice solution for (family) roleplaying purposes.
  5. Does anyone know what happens to the custom last names when you cancel the subscription? Do they revert to 'resident'? Or are the accounts made under the custom last name simply deleted?
  6. If you can find other residents who want to share that last name you can split the costs… For example: Share a custom last name name with 50 other residents and everyone pays $20 for the first year and $10 for every next year.
  7. There seems to be a bug in the feature that shows 'You have purchased this item on....' above an item listing. When I click 'buy now' on an item but then cancel on the invoice page it will from then on show that I bought the item on that day. Can anyone confirm this?
  8. It would be nice if gatchas upon listing were marked with a flag as such, paired with an 'exclude gatchas' tick box on search.
  9. Not if you approach it as any other gift card. A landlord could sell the giftcards in their store/marketplace so residents can buy the giftcard for someone who rents from that lanlord. It would then be the same as any other giftcard/storecredit. No banking involved.
  10. Well, at least it confirms you had a good idea
  11. The CasperLet system has rental vendors which accept gift cards....
  12. The smallest piece of land is 4x4m. So width and depth need to be a multiple of 4. Which leaves you with a minimum of 56x40m which is 2240sqm.
  13. Find the item or folder you want to send to marketplace. Then rightclick and choose 'Copy to Markeplace Listings'. It should now appear in your marketplace listings.
  14. It is not so much your users but the wiply account itself that posts only links to italian articles and posts in italian or bad english. That is what gives the impression the site is targeted towards italian speaking people. I like to suggest giving more information what the site is about instead of just an option to log in, create an account or read the terms and privacy policy. English is not my native language either and I'm sure my posts are full of mistakes but as an international social media platform you cannot afford to write in such bad english. Since the site does not provide any information on the platform, I had to look at the FB page for more information and most of the content is in the italian language. I cannot read italian so for me there is really no incentive to sign up. This is meant as positive feedback, what you are willing to do with the information is of course up to you….
  15. Facebook does not let you have an account for your avatar but you can have a page for your avatar instead.
  16. Thank you for your response, I will try to explain why I get the impression that wiply.net is not a site targeting an international audience... I first went to look at whiply.net where there is NO info at all about the network, what it is for, etc. (I don't want to sign up for something without knowing what it is). Next I went to have a look at the official facebook page to see if I could find some more info on Wiply only to find that posts are in italian or in badly translated english which to me suggests the site is targeted towards italian speaking people. I'm sure you can imagine that most non italian speaking people would not get the impression that this is an site targeted towards an international crowd and just leave...
  17. I do understand what you mean. But the latest answer doesn't always have to be the best one. If you wanted the latest info you could always skip to the end of the topic. I think that wopuld be easier then having to find all the relevant topics. And of course this doesn't work for all types of content...
  18. It doesn't just target the residents of one country. If I want to have presence on social media to connect with other SL users, I would choose a platform that appeals to residents from all countries rather then one that targets only people from italy.
  19. It seems that necroposting is mainly frowned upon on these forums. But is it really such a bad thing? When I search for a topic on something on the forums, I would prefer to find one topic containing all the info being added to it over the years instead of having to go through several topics that have been posted on the matter. The latter usually results in the same info being repeated over and over with just a little additional information added. I'm curious about others peoples opinions on this matter. *edited* I meant to post this in the General forum. Could someone please move it there?
  20. I don't think the term 'theft' only applies to physically (or digitally) taking something from someone. Or does for example the term 'identity theft' only mean physically stealing someone ID card?
  21. I had a look at Wiply. It seems to be a new social media site mostly targeted towards italian people (text is written mostly in italian or very bad english). I personally don't see the appeal for the majority of second life users other than the promise their account won't get deleted.
  22. A declining userbase doesn't say much on it's own and is something to be expected after 15 years. I'm personally more interested in how active and involved the userbase is. That is something that can still grow while the userbase declines in numbers.
  23. I think a part of the problem is that some merchants see the review section as a sales tool instead of a customer feedback tool. They only want 5 star review and get upset over anything less. I personally think it's never o.k. to ban a user from using a product they already bought.
