OK. Let me elaborate : A gumball machine sells you gumballs, but by chance you might get that rare item. And I'm sure that if you take the prize back to the vendor he'll give you a gumball in return if you insist. The prize is a selling technique for the gumballs. It has nothing to do with the actual pricing of the gumballs. This is not how gacha-machines work : it promises to sell you a rare as long as you keep trying by buying, but it might not if you run out of money . That' s gambling.

Just on a sidenote here as a mere consumer : I stumbled upon gachas from creators I appreciate, but always looked up the rares on MP and buy them directly if availiable. Aside trying a machine once or twice to understand it's concept, I immediately decided for myself back then to never use a machine again to acquire a favoured item. I for one will not miss them.

Then you also know there' s more to money than just making a quick buck by gachas. A good product will pay (out) for itself. Gachas do not turn that balance.

.. which is of course ridiculous, because there' s no such thing as a 'rare' item in an environment that can easily copy anything by mouseclick. All this seperation of 'normal' goodies' against 'rares' is cringeworthy to me and only favours the gambling mechanism for the greedy seller. Just put that effort into one decent selling product.

On a side note : the increased hospitalisations of last week ( July 12th - 18th ) in my country consisted mainly of unvaccinated people.

@Qie Niangao It's impossible for me to refute your pessimism eventhough I see the ( slight ) effect before me. I'm fully vaccinated and the delta-variant is incoming locally here as well ... ETA : I mean I know i'm not 'safe' and infection is still a real threat to me.

Cases and deaths per 100K residents, by county Values represent the seven-day moving average of daily reported cases per 100,000 residents for the period of July 19–July 25. Shown is a moving average to account for variations in the data caused by, for example, delays or errors in data reporting. Source : www.cnn.com ETA : I personally would conclude there can be seen an effect of herd immunity working at 75 % vaccination level of the population. If so there still needs a lot of work to be done for pro-vaccination to save lives. One might also conclude new variants might not come via Canada ..
