  1. Great, now when can I expect that 27 page report?
  2. Mmm root beer. I don't know, can you see who liked stuff? I might need a 27 page report on why you need to, along with a presentation, prefer one that includes pie charts, cause I like pie.
  3. Hey @Nekito Neox just a heads up, I had to hide one of your posts. You didn't do anything wrong, but you had your e-mail address and some other personal identifying information in it, which could put your account at risk. I strongly suggest going forward that you don't share that information publicly. As for your problem with accessing your account, I can see you have already contacted an agent via a Support Case, my best advise is to try and see if you can remember what information you used in order to verify your account. If you do remember, you can always respond to that case again, or create a new case as well.
  4. We are listening to all the feedback and everything that we are receiving, changes and improvements are being made where appropriate. We might not get all that we ask for, but at the very least, we are listening.
  5. I have posted the Participation Guidelines and Community Standards in their current form, you can locate them here:
  6. Welcome to the Second Life world! We hope you'll have a richly rewarding experience, filled with creativity, self expression and fun. The goals of the Community Standards are simple: treat each other with respect and without harassment, adhere to local standards as indicated by simulator ratings, and refrain from any hate activity which slurs a real-world individual or real-world community. Behavioral Guidelines - The 'Big Six' Within Second Life, we want to support Residents in shaping their specific experiences and making their own choices. The Community Standards sets out six behaviors, the 'Big Six', that will result in suspension or, with repeated violations, expulsion from the Second Life Community. All Second Life Community Standards apply to all areas of Second Life, the Second Life Forums, and the Second Life Website. Intolerance Combating intolerance is a cornerstone of Second Life's Community Standards. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish the Second Life community as a whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Resident's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed in Second Life. Harassment Given the myriad capabilities of Second Life, harassment can take many forms. Communicating or behaving in a manner which is offensively coarse, intimidating or threatening, constitutes unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors, or is otherwise likely to cause annoyance or alarm is Harassment. Assault Most areas in Second Life are identified as Safe. Assault in Second Life means: shooting, pushing, or shoving another Resident in a Safe Area (see Global Standards below); creating or using scripted objects which singularly or persistently target another Resident in a manner which prevents their enjoyment of Second Life. Disclosure Residents are entitled to a reasonable level of privacy with regard to their Second Life experience. Sharing personal information about your fellow Residents without their consent -- including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, alternate account names, and real-world location beyond what is provided by them in their Resident profile -- is not allowed. Remotely monitoring conversations in Second Life, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without the participants' consent are all prohibited. Adult Regions, Groups, and Listings Second Life is an adult community, but "Adult" content, activity and communication are not permitted on the Second Life "mainland." Such material is permitted on private regions, or on the Adult Continent, Zindra. In either case, any Adult content, activity, or communication, that falls under our Adult Maturity Definition must be on regions designated as "Adult," and will be filtered from non-verified accounts. Other regions may be designated as either "Moderate" or "General." For more information on how to designate land, events, groups, and classified listings, please carefully read the "Maturity Definitions." Disturbing the Peace Every Resident has a right to live their Second Life. Disrupting scheduled events, repeated transmission of undesired advertising content, the use of repetitive sounds, following or self-spawning items, or other objects that intentionally slow server performance or inhibit another Resident's ability to enjoy Second Life are examples of Disturbing the Peace. Policies and Policing Global Standards, Local Ratings All areas of Second Life, including the www.secondlife.com website and the Second Life Forums, adhere to the same Community Standards. Regions within Second Life are noted as Safe or Unsafe and should be designated by the SL account holder as either "Adult," "Moderate" or "General." Resident behavior within each region must conform to the respective local rating. Warning, Suspension, Banishment Second Life is a complex society, and it can take some time for new Residents to gain a full understanding of local customs and mores. Generally, violations of the Community Standards will first result in a Warning, followed by Suspension and eventual Banishment from Second Life. In-World Representatives, called Liaisons, may occasionally address disciplinary problems with a temporary removal from Second Life. Global Attacks Objects, scripts, or actions which broadly interfere with or disrupt the Second Life community, the Second Life servers or other systems related to Second Life will not be tolerated in any form. We will hold you responsible for any actions you take, or that are taken by objects or scripts that belong to you. Sandboxes are available for testing objects and scripts that have components that may be unmanageable or whose behavior you may not be able to predict. If you chose to use a script that substantially disrupts the operation of Second Life, disciplinary actions will result in a minimum two-week suspension, the possible loss of in-world inventory, and a review of your account for probable expulsion from Second Life. Alternate Accounts While Residents may choose to play Second Life with more than one account, specifically or consistently using an alternate account to harass other Residents or violate the Community Standards is not acceptable. Alternate accounts are generally treated as separate from a Resident's principal account, but misuse of alternate accounts can and will result in disciplinary action on the principal account. Buyer Beware Linden Lab does not exercise editorial control over the content of Second Life, and will make no specific efforts to review the textures, objects, sounds or other content created within Second Life. Additionally, Linden Lab does not certify or endorse the operation of in-world games, vending machines, or retail locations; refunds must be requested from the owners of these objects. Reporting Abuse Residents should report violations of the Community Standards using the Abuse Reporter tool located under the Help menu in the in-world tool bar. We review these abuse reports, and the identity of the reporter is kept strictly confidential. *Please Note - these participation guidelines can be located here: https://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php
  7. Introduction These guidelines cover Resident participation on our Second Life community pages, which include the Second Life Blogs, Forums, Answers, Bug Tracker, User Groups, and the Knowledge Base. They are intended to help all Residents have a constructive and enjoyable conversation. The Second Life Blogs, Forums, Bug Tracker, User Groups, Answers, and the Knowledge Base are places for you, the Residents of Second Life, to discuss ideas, experiences, and questions, and to share what you’ve learned about Second Life with each other and with us. We want to foster an honest and open exchange of ideas on our community pages; to do that, we want to encourage all participants to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy and respect for others at all times. Creating a constructive place for conversation will help us build a strong, better informed community in Second Life, and make both our communication channels and our world a more supportive and engaging place for all. In addition to adhering to the Second Life Terms of Service, Residents must also refrain from the activities listed below. These Activities are Not Permitted on the Second Life Community Sites: Vulgarity, Profanity, and Sexually Explicit Content: No name calling, expletives, or any language that is offensive, pornographic, or sexually explicit. Profanity, hate speech, or threats of violence are not permissible. Harassment: Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment can include text or images that contain racist, threatening, abusive or hateful material. Personal Information: Sharing someone else’s personal information—of any kind—is not allowed. Disclosing another Resident’s real-world identity, contact information, or the text of interpersonal communications (chat, email, IM) is not allowed. Nudity or Adult Content: Keep the content of your postings “General” as provided in the Maturity Guidelines. Postings that do not comply with the “General” rating may be removed. Spamming, Solicitation and Advertising: Spamming is not allowed. This includes aggressive self-promotion. No advertising or promotion of specific Second Life merchants, Marketplace listings, products, or services, unless the forum area is specifically for the buying or selling of Second Life products or services, for example, a “for sale” or “wanted” forum. Do not reference other websites offering any product or service. Note: It is OK to have a signature line with a link to your Second Life profile or information about your Second Life business. Interpersonal Disputes or Personal Negative Commentary: If you have a personal disagreement, do not post about it on the Second Life community pages. Residents who have personal differences have other channels of communication available to them — private messaging in the forums, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life. No Flaming: "Flames" are hostile or disruptive posts, or messages intended to incite an angry response. Spirited discussion and constructive disagreement are welcome, but name-calling and airing of grievances are not appropriate in our discussion areas. We will also not tolerate any post that encourages others to violate any policy of Linden Lab Off Topic Content: Please keep your commentary relevant to the discussion and within the format that the forum, board or question and answer area require. (For example, in the Answers section, please follow the Q&A format of the discussion.) Content that is blatantly off topic is not permitted. You may also not post regarding subjects that do not relate to Second Life except in the General forum discussion board. Abuse of Moderation or Moderators: Please honor our moderation process and the decisions that come out of it; they are being made in order to provide you with a productive environment for conversations about Second Life. We prohibit abuse of our moderation process, including the following: Posts that discuss or re-post material that has been removed or locked by a moderator Posts questioning a moderator’s decision Posts that discuss the status of any Resident account (e.g., on hold, suspended, etc.) Frivolous or malicious use of the abuse report feature Report inappropriate content for moderator review Moderating a discussion site is a daunting task; our forums alone see in excess of 10,000 posts per week. You can help by reporting abuse when you spot it. If you see a post you feel violates the Community Participation Guidelines, or our Terms of Service, then please click the Report Inappropriate Content link that appears in each post, and let us know why you feel the post is inappropriate. We moderate at our discretion We evaluate posts on a case-by-case basis and take into account the severity of the conduct and any history of past violations. Although we will make reasonable efforts to take into consideration the context and general sentiment of the blog or forum discussions, the actions taken (or not taken) by Linden Lab and our moderators are at our sole discretion, and we may act without warning or explanation. We provide the discussion areas of our sites as a service to Residents, and we will take the actions we deem appropriate to keep our sites a productive and enjoyable environment for all Residents. *Please Note - these participation guidelines can be located here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Community_Participation_Guidelines
  8. @Perrie Juran thank you for that screenshot! I will take this feedback and share it. As usual, no promises on my part that it is possible, or that it will make a return, but I will get it passed along.
  9. Thanks, the things that we are hammering on haven't quite been implemented yet, but I think once they are, we will all see a difference.
  10. Hey! So I just wanted to check in and see how we are doing with the spam. We have made some changes, are doing things a little differently, and it is certainly not a one man, or person job as the case may be. Lots of hammering going on in the back ground, and I think, it has a really good chance of eliminating the spam problem entirely. What say you?
  11. I am not sure what this sidebar is that you all are requesting? However in regards to the Guidelines, I hear what you all are saying, let me see what I can do about making it more visible. Give me a little time.
  12. Hey there! @Fionne Burleigh if you wait a little bit and you are the only account in the group, the group to my knowledge should eventually get disbanded. If this does not happen, please submit a support ticket so we can take a better look at it or assist with getting a JIRA filed if it turns out to be a bug.
  13. Hey, I was just about to come in here and say that unfortunately I don't think this is a feature we are going to be able to implement, it looks like someone else beat me to it though (I have been very busy with many projects lately). I know it is not quite the same, but the use of italics and speaking in the 3rd person is unfortunately the best solution I have to this. Tommy offers a consoling smile as part of the apology.
  14. Hey Everyone! I just want to clear this up, if someone is asking for recommendations it is perfectly acceptable to provide them with a list of merchants that you all feel would fit. We are not going to penalize you for being helpful in that manner, in fact, we encourage you to respond to other Residents questions when they ask about things of that nature. Plus I am sure the merchants also appreciate the word of mouth referral.
  15. Custom Streams is indeed the best way to go to get the sort of results that you are looking for.
  16. Hey Farthington, I am going to lock your post, but I am also going to contact you directly.
  17. The good news, is that the spam is becoming less, the bad news is, that it is still happening. The other good news though, is that we are going to keep working on it.
  18. @Whirly Fizzle Where? I don't see any? I won't be around much longer tonight but I was watching to see if it blocked them or not. If you see them hit the report and I will do what I can.
  19. That is actually incorrect, and I am having that updated (thank you for pointing it out!) Creator applications are still currently open!
  20. @Innula Zenovka Thank you for that feedback, I will certainly keep it in mind, but I would much prefer to just completely put a stop the spam entirely. I am on a mission here. @Whirly Fizzle I agree it would be helpful if it no longer showed them in your unread items, while I do not see this as an option, I will happily submit it as a feature request to IPS.
  21. Thankfully, I do have people around when I sleep! We have made some additional adjustments and will see how they handle and continue to adjust from there. I assure you, I am as dedicated to stopping the spam, as you all are to reporting and posting about it!
  22. Excellent! We are happy to hear that people are finding this feature useful. It certainly helps to empower all of you to place someone on ignore that might be bothering you.
  23. I am always here, except when I am sleeping, unfortunately they haven't figured out how to fix it yet so that I never have to sleep.
  24. Unfortunately with the use of a new system, also comes the use of new settings. I apologize for the spam that everyone had to endure and it at this time has hopefully been fully cleaned up. In our efforts to better protect the community from this sort of experience we will be further adjusting our internal controls and doing all that we can to prevent this in the future.
