  1. The Realms are your better choice. You won't get rich by any means, but if you make a day out of it, you'll end up with a fairly decent amount of L$. If I am low on L$ and don't have the time to update the Paypal, I give Linden Realms a few visits over a week. I usually end up getting the amount needed. You just have to be patient.
  2. Duh!!!! In the years I have used this LAQ kitchen set up, I have never thought "just rerez them from the box". I would simply take them back into inventory and then redrop them (the original rezzes) into a new place. Oh the time wasted and eye strain irritation resetting the units up. Problem solved!
  3. I'm thinking too the creator of the group is the TRUE owner of the group (in every sense of the word). Perhaps the creator pleaded a plausible case against the other "owners" and the Lab agreed. No one will know but the creator/owner and LL for sure. Every group I have been involved in as an owner had the other owner ejection button greyed out. Are you sure the "owner" was ejected and not persuaded to leave?
  4. This not a technical question about the performance of the kitchen itself, but a question of setting the pieces together with minimum effort. I've had the kitchen for a few years and still love it. However, I recently had to dismantle them to move to a new house. My question pertains lining the individual pieces up using "X", "Y" & "Z" in a proper and seamless way. Does anyone know of a short cut to be used while replacing the units w/o having to eyeball each and every piece for alignment in a quicker fashion? Is this even possible?
  5. I hope this thread does not take a bad turn. With that said: http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2014/06/03/men_who_drink_breast_milk_they_exist.html While I'm at it, could Jack in the Box tacos be considered vegan? As been described by one online friend, "they are some kind of cat food wrapped in oily Doritos"' That may be the case, but the filling seems more soy than beef. Still tasty though when chased with a chocolate shake.
  6. Grab a copy of Blender (https://www.blender.org/), look at tutorials online at youtube and go to work. If you want someone to create it for you, be prepared to pay handsomely. I would highly suggest you look at MP and see if there are any attributes available already, something to help ya get started or learn Blender and build it yourself. Good luck.
  7. Do as MegaRose suggested. Post the pic here so we can get a better idea of what you might need. There are a few variables you should show to get a more specific answer.
  8. Had me at crispy bacon. Lost me at politicians and intestinal parasites.
  9. I don't see ASKING is against ToS. However, giving your password out is inviting the problem of YOU and only YOU being responsible for any action the person you gave the pw to. They could have motives of doing griefing under your name or other not cool things. They could effectively lock you out of your own account and take/transfer what L$'s you may have on hand and only YOU will suffer any consequences, which could lead up to total banishment from sims or SL altogether. Think of it similar to handing the keys to your car to a new "friend" They promise to bring it back in fine shape and offer to go as far as offering to refill the tank of any gas they will use. On the surface, it sounds okay. It's when you get that visit or phone call from the local constable and they ask you why this person has your car. Well, what can you tell them? Any damage that the person caused will come from your pocket as I doubt the insurance company would agree to cover the situation. After all, you gave them the keys willingly. If they are bothering you for your pw, I suggest you mute/unfriend and move on with the knowledge that your account is safe.
  10. Only if we can quote everything Shakespearean. A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool. .
  11. I understand this is a necro posting, but it's the first time I read it. The poor guy was visualizing Marylin Monroe and her smooth seductress "hi sweetheart, how are you tonight" but got Joe Pesci and his edgy, but to the point "Hey, how ya doin'?". That would be a mood killer.
  12. Welcome to Second Life. You'll find that SL is more experience than game. I would elaborate, but was advised to just leave it at that. It's not a game You will find that it has a fairly high learning curve at first. I would suggest getting to know your avatar at first. Pay attention to it and build it to your liking. Learn the different ways it can be dressed up and presented to the grid. Learn all the basics. Don't try to do too much at first, it would probably overwhelm you and force you to walk away. One item of attention you will find is if you TP to some areas, they will not allow you in. This is simply a way to keep griefers from coming in, getting banned and making a new avi and returning to continue their shenanigans. Some sims have age restrictions that only allow those over a certain SL age to enter. If you run into an establishment like this (and you will, no doubt), come back to it in approx 31 days (typical age limit is 30 days). Don't think you have been banned. Just come back later. After you get comfortable, start making friends in-world. Ask questions. There are plenty of fine souls here who will be more than helpful to make your SL experience a pleasant one. There are ways to make L$ here if you have the experience of building or creating. Other ways are available too and will come in time. Just think of getting the avatar prepared as you want. Everything else will fall into place in due time. I can not emphasize this enough: DON'T CLICK ON URL's SENT TO YOU FROM AVATARS YOU DON"T KNOW. I don't care if they are offering you "free lindens" or "a free house". DON'T CLICK. There are reputable shops in-world that cater to newbies like you. Free Dove comes to mind (no, I don't work for them). They offer free clothing, hair, skins and assorted items to help you get started. I'm sure others will come along and offer suggestions for you. I'm just looking at the fact that you are new and wanting to get started. Ask questions here in forum on in-world and most of all, have fun.
  13. Found this online while looking for a good graphics card. It seems to explain why cards are so fricken expensive these days. https://www.ultragamerz.com/nvidia-wants-retailers-to-stop-selling-gpus-to-miners/ I am open to either AMD or GeForce. I just don't wish to pay $900 for a previously priced $400 card. I understand supply and demand, but let's be serious, I'll keep my eyes open for a reasonable price that offers some good bang for the buck, be it AMD or GeForce.
  14. For the most part, I agree with what Lindal stated. I'm looking for a decent desktop, either upper end refurbished or new from the box (I prefer new from the box but have to be real on cost). Looking at prices for a GeForce 1080, at one website (Newegg) prices between $642.00 - $1399.00 which brings me to an obvious question: Is it recommended to purchase a good used (gently operated) GeForce 1080 or similar?. Yes I know that some people have this bitcoin thing going and have been known to return "defective" product which more or less, might be placed back on the shelf for a future sale. This could be compared to the radio being worth more than the car. Is there a less expensive alternate that can be suggested? I've grown accustomed to AMD graphics in my laptop. Sure the graphics can't be changed in a lappy, but I have kept it as up to date as I can. With a GOOD desktop with 3.30Ghz and 8 gigs of ram (upgradable to 16), from what I have gathered, a good replaceable graphics card will run circles around my current set up. I'm shooting for a March 1 drop dead date to be up and running.
  15. or mad dogs and englishmen my source listed "englishmen" as one word.
  16. Look up topics that you have interest in search. You like book reading, look up books, you like movies, then look up movies. No doubt a group is out there that would cater to your taste. Join that group and introduce yourself on their group chat if they permit it. Maybe TP to their sim, walk around and have small chat with whomever is there at the time. Not all of SL involves knocking pixels. You just have to look and get involved. When I first signed in, I have an interest in space travel and found a wonderful sim operated by the fine folks at JPL. Not a lot of people there at the time, but it was a start. Maybe just wander and strike up small chat with whom you run into. It's really up to you.
