Skin Fair 2024 - what are you excited for?
Stephanie Misfit replied to Stephanie Misfit's topic in Your Avatar
The Snow Rabbit head has excellent tinting through the HUD, so you can turn any skin into a fantasy tone and it looks good. It also comes with animated elf ears. -

I have used a 4k skin with it, and there are no seams at all. -

I went all out and bought the Genus Morph fatpack, Lelutka Billie, and the new Snow Rabbit head, as well as a skin from Nar Mattaru. Here is the Snow Rabbit head, with default shape, some brows and blush from the HUD, and a Glam Affair skin. So pretty and quite different from other heads you can buy I think. And I have to say, it has the most natural animations of any head I have used, I normally don't use animations on mesh heads but these are great. -

I know the Catwa group will get you in early. Now THIS is interesting. Create your own unique head by choosing the individual components. -

Catwa will release a new head at the fair -
Maybe try RAMA Salon for the one down the bottom, they have a lot of hair like that.

I am really looking forward to Skin Fair, which opens tomorrow for certain groups, and on the 8th of March for everyone else. SnowRabbit is finally releasing their EvoX compatible mesh head. I have watched some video reviews for this one, and it looks great. I was a huge fan of the last head they released, but it was not EvoX compatible and did not have as many features. I will almost certainly buy the new head when Skin Fair opens. What are you looking forward to at Skin Fair?

Peeve - merchants who don't make their stuff available on the SL Marketplace. I get sick of visiting large stores in world, waiting for things to rez, and trying to use area search to find things without success. I get that it is a lot of work to put your entire store on the marketplace, that you run the risk of people leaving bad reviews for no good reason, and that LL takes a cut. But there is a whole customer base out there who primarily shop on the marketplace, and that makes it worthwhile.

LL confirmed that just as it says, that is only on request, it would only be under certain circumstances that it would be required. It doesn't apply to people just making and selling Senra stuff for their stores.

Peeve - that some of my favourite furniture stores, and one house maker whose designs I love, have terrible LODs on their products. Houses need good LODs because they are seen from a distance, and furniture should not collapse when you are standing right next to it.

Nova is now releasing their hair in versions that go under hats. Might be worth checking out their latest stuff at events.

Most furniture makers in SL use full perm animations. There are only a handful who create their own. It is very pricey to invest in these, especially if you are making adult content that contains hundreds of animations. The price you can expect to pay for a single adult couple animation is between 900 and 2000L. So making a sex bed for most creators would require an investment of hundreds of thousands of lindens. Hard to recoup that when customers increasingly expect to be able to pick everything up for 75L in sales.

Really enjoying Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PS5, but am very frustrated with some of the mini-games and unavoidable quick-time events.

My stuff is on the expensive end, as it has a lot of animations. But I still make more selling my niche expensive stuff than I do from putting more mainstream things for sale for 75L on the weekend. You have to sell a LOT of things for 75L for it to add up to any real amount of money, especially when the events have entry fees.

I too avoid going into my store if I see someone is there. But I have met customers when I have been at venues, and they have IMed me to tell me they like my stuff, so that is very nice. Sometimes I will send them something for free if we chatted for a while, and one guy I kept bumping into regularly, I got to help me with testing something new.

When someone leaves a bad review, it is an opportunity to demonstrate your customer service skills in your reply.

If you are thinking about retiring things for bodies like Maitreya and Freya, people still look for and buy those items, so it could be worth keeping them up. My alt has a marketplace clothing store that is mainly for older bodies now because I have not made anything new in ages, and it still gets sales. There is a customer base out there that hangs on to their old bodies.

If I won the lottery... 💰

I'd stop working in real life, and continue to work in SL as it is a hobby for me. I'd get a full sim or two, and maybe some prime mainland.
