  1. I used to buy the peach salsa from Mrs. Renfros but the last few years I’ve been wanting less liquids & less sugary salsa. So I’ve just bought hot pico de Gallo. At Walmart there is a tub in the produce area & I use it for tons of stuff- actually put it in my taquito stuffing this weekend! 🌶 🧅 🔥
  2. 😮. Do you eat it with a spoon or is it like salsa for corn chips? edit: helps if I focus when I read. I see you said that it’s eaten with chips. Sounds really good! (I looked it up on Amazon)
  3. I get that one & “Next” confused. Both are great suspense movies.
  4. I don’t think I’ve watched this in the past 20 years. I’m not sure why- Nicolas Cage is one of my all time favorites (Moonstruck & Valley Girl). I just noticed it’s a Coen Brothers film- which explains why it’s amazing.
  5. this is the official (now locked) thread. Nearly 4,000 replies. I’m sure your answers are in there somewhere.
  6. Okay that looks amazing! I’ve only had a curry once. It was at a place called Gopuram Taste of India & it was a buffet for Valentines Day. It was lamb. They also had basmati rice, which I remember being really nice. That curry looks like it would be so good in the winter. 🍜 ❄️
  7. That’s what they are! I’ve seen them before years ago (campfire brand) but with the movie coming this winter I was excited to buy an extra bag to just keep.
  8. I’m sorry you’re dealing with a crummy home. I can commiserate- in 2017 we bought a double wide that was built in the mid 90s. We didn’t know what we were doing & got suckered. By the time we were able to move away, there was one bedroom with completely rotted floor, kitchen couldn’t be entered due to soft floor, boards bought to make a gang plank to a toilet, we had to shut the hot water tank off after every use because the knobs in the other bathroom had water blasting out to the backside of the tub. The day we left it was storming & literally had 50 gallon storage tubs catching water from the ceiling in multiple places in the living room. There was no ac or heat- the previous owners had dumped boxes of mothballs in all the floor vents (I don’t know how they lived with the vapors), that’s why we have window units now & heated the house with the oven & an electric fireplace. That was the winter I had sepsis & had to have major abdominal surgery. It was just horrific all around. I do understand & am very sorry for your circumstances 🤗
  9. Oh & if this is in your budget- these make a HUGE difference (I have the blue one with button control & the older red one with a dial. The red is louder but both work great):
  10. Our central AC breaks every summer. Every single year. Due to working from home & happy dogs I can’t have someone in to fix it right now- so we have 2 window units. It has gotten pretty warm this past week when the heat index is 110f & I’m so happy it’s cooling off for a week or so. I’ve banned use of the toaster oven & the electric skillet doesn’t put out a ton of heat so that’s what we’ve used. I do agree the heat wilts appetites.
  11. I’ve had clotted cream just once (in England, well on the plane home from) *it’s not a thing you find inoklahoma* & it was amazing! Is vine leaves grape leaves? There’s a deli in Dallas, Texas that makes them- my dad would bring a cooler with us on trips that took us thru Dallas & he would stop just to buy lots of them & po’ boy sandwiches! https://www.yelp.com/biz/antoines-foods-dallas
  12. It’s a great big culinary world out there. It’s always interesting to me to see dishes from around the world (even in parts of my own country) I would never have even heard of if not for the internet. Maybe you have a favorite recipe to share or maybe want to gush about a meal out (or take away)? I’m scared of grease fires to the point that I don’t cook with oil. This week I fried for the first time in at least 10 years. We made pulled pork taquitos & they were amazing! I knew I had to buy these marshmallows when I saw them on the shelf & so today I will be making chocolate popcorn balls & the rest of the batch of taquitos. Do you have any yummies to share?
  13. It’s a gloomy thunderstorm day. Ripe for hiding inside so I found 3 movies today. They were all really good. Really legendary actors. Dark content, not for kids. I’ve never paid much attention to Jared Leto but his character in the little things made my skin crawl he was so good at being creepy. 👍
  14. I only ever think of Shaun of the Dead when Velk calls someone “mate” haha. So every time I see it, I hear Noel in my head “‘Ello maaaaaaaaate”. 🤣 it’s when Ed is off screen calling Noel, looking to score drugs during Shaun’s attempted pep talk “the anagram of team is meat….” & for anyone unfamiliar with Shaun of the Dead (or the other 2 in the 3 flavors cornetto trilogy- now you have a weekend movie recommendation!) https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/a3c7aebc-1ad0-4fe1-8080-1c735490d60f
  15. Snow newly adrift fantastically unthawing. R O B O T 🤖
  16. My response as I would usually go on long winded would be off track of the thread topic. But I want to know why the “forcibly” caveat? edit: because my family pays over $500 usd a month for health insurance thru work and practically nothing is covered & I can’t afford all the tests & procedures my condition requires. I spent over two years bouncing between neurologists, internists, radiologists & therapists being misdiagnosed before finally being given a correct diagnosis. Thousands of dollars gone. With chronic neurological pain (I have fluid on my brain) & other issues I am all for socialized medical care.
  17. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-human-beast/202007/why-do-many-poor-people-vote-republican A lot of it, especially in my state has to do with religion & reproductive rights. Even tho they vote against their overall best interests, there are specific issues here & voters won’t be swayed.
  18. Those are screenshots I took from scrolling thru a thread in June 2020 regarding BLM & Juneteenth. They are of my comments in the thread. The 1st screenshot is of a comment I had made that included a screenshot from The Tulsa World (newspaper) discussing the arrest of a Tulsa Public School teacher protesting during Trump’s re-election rally here. The 3rd is a comment I made discussing a gun rights advocate & police trainer Velk was holding up as an authority to be trusted- the website called insider quoted this person talking about how “you” become used to shooting & killing people, & how great sex is after killing a human. The 2nd screenshot is a comment I made about my grandfathers military unit participating in the liberation of a Nazi death camp. The last screenshot was my response to an image someone had posted depicting a white male holding a sign acknowledging the wrongness of his previous mindsets in regards to race relations. Each of my screenshots shows Velk loling as a reaction to my posts- ones talking about murder- was simply refreshing his memory since he claims he didn’t do exactly that.
  19. I remember you laughing quite a bit during a thread during a really stressful period last year. Not just at my posts, but others too. I mean you laughed at a post where I discussed the liberation of Dachau. If that’s not trolling I don’t know what is. Or maybe you figured my posts were “BS” like the media (as you say) & just clicked a reaction without reading. Who knows. (just a fewTo refresh your memory):
  20. When my hubby & I got together 20+ years ago, I had a college education, he at that time did not. I had sales, customer service & retention experience in a call center environment. He had experience working in a cell phone kiosk at a big box store. We were hired to the same company for the same job thru a staffing firm. (We knew each other & were together prior). The job was selling insurance policies & servicing claims for over the road commercial truck drivers. I think he was hired on at more than $2.00 an hour more than me. Same positions & I had equal to or more experience. 🤷‍♀️. The work environment sucked & one day we went to lunch & didn’t return. Aaaah to be 23, ignorant, & stupidly carefree.
  21. Well, I was wondering when you would grace me with a snarky comment & laughing emoji. It’s been a hot minute since you previously went out of your way to do so on every single one of my posts. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/may/20/rich-white-men-rule-america-minority-rule https://www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-courts-white-male-judges_n_5cb61c86e4b0ffefe3b835a6 https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/08/january-6-minimizers/619634/ https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/opendemocracyuk/three-ways-to-stop-global-economic-system-working-only-for-rich-white-men/ https://www.harpersbazaar.com/uk/culture/a35379486/why-does-the-world-reward-mediocre-white-men/ I could continue to google, copy & paste links, but I know it’s a wasted effort “mate”.
  22. Sadly the good old boys club still runs the world.
  23. The author of the book the movie is based on spent a lot of time in SL. https://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2012/10/ready-player-one-oases-in-second-life.html
