A to Z of Second Life

Hi all,

I'm developing some lessons for ESL / EFL learners and teachers in SL and I want to start with the basics and make it relevant to SL, so I've started writing an a to z of second life and would appreciate any input (preferably clean).   Not just about features in SL, but what you can do and what you find in SL too.  

BTW - I am British, so the spelling might be a bit odd to some of my cousins.  :-)

There shouldn't be an implied link between cash & cache, the way you have written it.

Cash: the readily exchangeable form of a currency

Cache: a place of hiding or storage; in computer terms, a specific area of storage dedicated to a particular kind of data for fast access

On a quick read-through, I'd suggest pet(s), Ruth - ruthed, and cloud - clouded as useful SL words that are missing.

Great idea!  I just skimmed a bit and noticed you might add poseball, IM (or instant message), club, partner.

I suggest poseball in addition to poses (which you have already), because poses can be a static thing, too.  Residents would more likely encounter poseballs when couples dancing, posing for photos as couples or doing other things as couples.

Who?

There are really only 2 residents in SL that everyone in SL knows about for their "contributions." Torley is pretty much -the- linden that keeps the gears running for users - making sense of the nonsense. Prok is just famous for all kinds of things that everyone seems to know about and are not easy to explain.

There seems to be a lot of agreement about Torley, and almost no agreement about Prok.

For my money, if you're going to mention Prok then you have to define FIC / feted inner core... And following from that, was SLCC in the list?

One other resident I'd suggest: Anshe Chung, if only because of the percentage of search results related to SL that she shows up in.

Prok is just an objectionable person - she does nothing but object to anything that comes to her mind.

If well-known avs are to be added, Prok should be left out and Anshe Chung added, but I don't think any av names should be included as none are globally known. Even Torley is known only by a relatively small minority of people - mostly forum users.
