I'm betting they have more fun in the FIC.

I've been in the Woke Mob for years, and we've yet to have a single party at which drinks were served.

What is FIC?

I'm the worst with all the terms or acronyms nowadays.. I just call people by their name or if they won't give me that, then it's the person in the purple shirt or truckers hat or bad haircut. :D

Yeah, nice try Ceka. You're not fooling us.

Only members of the Feted Inner Core deny that they know what it means.

It feels like I am missing most of this story... On social island 1-10 these rules are posted to help prevent being banned. These are the super duper no nos.

Sincerely,

Those are essentially the Community Standards, the violation of which can (maybe, sometimes) lead to a suspension or even, in extreme cases, a ban. But the OP's question was specifically about what might lead to a permaban -- not just a slap on wrist or a few day's holiday from SL.

And I don't think anyone really knows the answer to that, because there are a great many variables.

If it helps the topic creator. I'm not proud of being suspended at least 10 times, i'm not perma banned yet. I take responsiblity for ever mistake I've made. Each time I get suspended time is longer and longer, and if attempting to log in while suspended will increase the suspention time. I guess corrective action depends on how extreme the problem is. Hope I don't get suspended for participating in this conversation.

The FIC may have been from before my time on these forums. I didn't quite make the cut. I was, however, quite thrilled to be referred to as a "tree hugging (Emerald-loving) ... (something or other)" by a Marmite person one time.

And the LWL, were not me either, but that was an interesting era.

I love when the sleeping retro monster is stirred from its slumbers.

And without even realising it, the OP does something good.

The only club I can remember back then was Trouts Rated club and I never got in that one either..  hehehehe

Trouble just seems to follow some folk around.

I just thought I'd been banned one time around 2008 I think it was, because I was unable to log in for days, but it turned out while I'd been stalking someone I'd crashed on a region border and left a stuck presence behind.

Serves. Me. Right. LOL

Sorry that happened, least can laugh about it now. I can't explain where it all went wrong it's like bad dream. It's been a few years since my last run in with the law in world. I'm a hard one to tolerate sometimes and shows a lot of tolerance on the part of the Lindens that I'm still here.

I did make one of the subgroups of the FIC one year (so did Maddy). I never did get the secret decoder ring or the key to the executive washroom, however.

The LWL happened just as I was in the process of ducking out of SL for a few years. As for Trout's list . . . he never fancied me.

The vibe you are exuding today is pleasant enough, but I know that sometimes people have quirks.

I used to live with a man who managed to get banned from the local swimming pool ... for persistently climbing into areas where there were clear signs not to climb (fake rocks, wave machine). He just couldn't help himself. He was more a danger to himself than others though.

I missed Trout altogether. That must have been during the few years I baled out of Second Life for one reason and another.

I get mentally unstable when I feel like someone is being hurt or people are being harmed. I try not to get involved as much as I used to. There's no point, only destruction.

At those times then a Linden Lab "time-out" is possibly a positive course of action.

I've become too involved with certain things that have affected me negatively in Second Life, so I have had to learn when to bale out, for my own sanity, literally.

Sometimes our own brain can be our enemy. I try to give it what it wants, sufficient sleep, a balanced diet, some ASMR to distract the negative thought patterns.

110% agree. Witnessing me melting down in public, nothing really else to do, and people should not see that. It's so painful being in the middle of something and then without warning things start happening to viewer and eventually leads to a disconnection of viewer. The feeling of being rejected and suspended without being coached hurts the most.

If I were to witness anything happening to me during my times of trouble and I were a Linden I would message myself and invite myself to have a cup of tea and talk about concerns and maybe probe for interests and then recommend new places. If problem people realize Lindens are around and are willing to help they will be more incline to make better choices and forward concerns to the proper people.

The process could be a  little nicer.

You were living in that moment.

The Lindens were living in that moment.

You're in leisure and pleasure time. They're in work mode. It is harsh at times. They wouldn't be able to afford to hire the number of mental health specialists they'd need if you think about how many residents of Second Life actually do have a problem of this nature. There's a lot of us varying on different scales too.

But if you get to know your own triggers, you eventually do find ways of getting out before being triggered quite often if not always. I've had to ask myself "Am I tired?" "Am I hungry?" "Is the moon full?" One day can seem to be one long series of unfortunate events and almost intolerable, and then another day comprising of the exact same component parts can turn out to be excellent. It's hard to nail what makes them so different, what causes a mood shift. We are a complicated blend of minerals and whatnot. Even a lack of fluid intake can cause people to be irrational or slow-thinking. It's finding what works for us as individuals.

Isn't stuff about bans best handled via support ticket instead of the mboard?  I do see this thread getting "moled."

It will definitely get moled. We've gone a bit off topic. And the OP had gone off altogether.

We've run out of cat pictures to post.

There is one thing guaranteed to get someone permabanned. Impersonating a Linden or claiming to work for LL when you don't. LL doesn't ask questions. It's a permanent auto-ban. Another isn't exactly child's play.
