Question

I have a mainland neighbor that is able to return items that do not visually (even with transparency on) cross the property line.  what could be causing this and how do i fix it.  the neighbor is a complete psycho and wont let it stay up for any period of time and is a completely rude person for something that i am not intentionally doing.   she wont even work with me to find out at what point it is no longer on her property. please help solve this so we can resolve this issue with a troublesome neighbor.

i have the setting set to see the transparency and to see the blue box of the shape..... but its still happening.   shes psycho cuz she went from 1 to 10000000 in a nano second about it, ive been here for MONTHS and she hasnt said anything.  She called me a psycho because i was trying to figure it out.  Shes not psycho for not wanting encroachment, i understand that.

If your stuff can be returned then the system seems to think that is on your neighbors land, there are no ways around this, no magic tricks, that just be how that goes.

Don't try to rez right up to the border of parcel, especially mesh items which may have bounding boxes much larger than the rezzed objects.

It's generally a good idea to leave a bit of 'dead space' around your actual build if you're in conflict with your neighbors.

When your neighbor sends your stuff back, just replace them but move them a little further away from the boundary each time.

Don't escalate or call your neighbor names on the forums, the interpersonal conflict ends up being the focus rather than the problem you're trying to solve.

she might simply want to live there without neighbour contacts. The object reutrn can also be triggered by her automatic autoreturn option.
Soution is still simple, keep distance to the parcelborder to see if its still returned.

But you can keep ranting, that won't solve the issue. Try several things.

@Alwin Alcott , you clearly aren't listening or hearing the Lady , and further , your attitude is revealed in your comment about ' Ranting " . Lady came here for help , your comments don't . An Abuse Report is the solution in this case ,  allowing Linden Labs to sort this is the correct answer . Mr. Alcott , next time do try to use some forethought before bludgeoning a person who is seeking help :)

if you look at the attched photo you will see that my items DO NOT cross the line. the wood prim put up is her parcel boundary.  i even made a new root prim located at the middle of my parcel and made it phantom so it doesnt interfere with anything on her parcel.   i have crossed my Ts and dotted my Is and i still cannot figure out how it crossses the line.

i did not ask your opinion about the relationship between the neighbor but i,  however i  did ask how to solve the issue to satisfy a grumpy neighbor but still have a visual barrier.

so far i am going to lose 3 meters into my property that i pay for because it is still on her property somehow, and that is upsetting.

if anyone has some constructive information on how to fix this prim problem that would be helpful.

the mesh bounding box does not go outside the propery line.   so you are saying there is no way to fix my problem  of an item being on my parcel, infact 3 meters within my parcel, from being sent back?  if that is  the case does anyone have a suggestion as  to a new mesh rock wall divider  that looks nice and doesnt mess with the property lines?

Assuming there are no land ownership things going on .. like your land is deeded to a group that she also has land powers over or whatever, then ... nope, if she can return your stuff then your stuff is on her land .. or at least the server seems to think so.

The best trick might be to get her to put up a rock wall .. and then you don't have to (and it saves you Li too!)

Yeahhhh i highly doubt she would do that.   it took her all of 10 mins to call me a psycho (i never once called her a name,  just on  this post and right you were i shouldnt have, my hands were trembling when i typed it, i was so very upset, i dont deal with people as unreasonable as her regularly, in my line of work i would have called security to have her removed)   she called me a psycho when i was trying to figure it out what was going on, it would have move a lot faster if she would have worked with me instead of continually returning the item i was attempting to inspect.     The rocks have been there (i thought on my side) since april so im not sure why she was in such a rush.   its very weird.

whatever is going on is def a server thing thinking it's crossing the line,   i am very particular about making sure my prims dont cross the line and that they are taking up MY land impact, and i will always adjust my landscaping according to the desires of nice neighbors, i even made a waterfall for a neighbor to block my house so that they had something nice to look at other than a blank wall......... shoot my last place we worked together and combined our landscaped, it was fun!    this lady would have nothing of it, so i will get a new barrier that may not be as pretty.

this pic shows that the blue linked prim is over a boundary line on both sides. Can see that boundary line (straight red line at bottom of pic)

going off the pic alone then it seems that the boundary is maybe not where you think it is. {And add} is why your neighbour is able to return it

But are you renting or you have bought the land? If you are renting, does she as well and are you both in the same rental group?

i have owned the land for about 3+ months its in my group she does not have access. i figured it out from littleme jewel comment about viewing metadata stuff...... there was some weird stuff around the cliff, which i figured was there but couldnt figure out. thanks littleme jewel for the help!   i have changed cliffs so that it does not have that metadata hanging over, and now i know what to do to prevent it from happening again, which is what i was aiming for,  thank you thank you!

It would be helpful if you turned on the parcel boundaries and took a picture that included the boundary lines.  If you're using the Firestorm viewer, there is an option somewhere in the preferences where you can turn on highlighting the parcel boundaries all the way up to maximum height.  This can be helpful for checking if anything crosses the boundary, because you'll be able to visually see it "poke" though the parcel boundary highlighting.

If you're certain that nothing you have linked to the root prim you mentioned is over the boundary, yet she still returns your items, I would suggest filing a support ticket so that you can have it looked at by a Linden Support person.  There's not much else anyone here in the forums will be able to suggest or explain other than what has already been said here.

Edit to add:  I just noticed that it sounds like you found the issue and have fixed it. My advice (along with LittleMe's about displaying the bounding boxes) still stands though for others who may have issues and read this in the future, or if you should have issues again in the future (though I hope you won't).
