We have discussed it. You have not reassured me.

You mean  I haven't reassured you that the HIM does not relate to something religious or spiritual?  I've never denied that as a possibility, I've only said that I can't imagine the HIM she is envisioning involves one of the abusive religions we spoke of.

It's very common to idolize what we see as a new and better way (in her case, being creative in SL vs whatever she was doing before that seemed to exclude creativity).

Explicitly not in the porn area of Adult content, as that was what she was referring to when making that comment.  Once again, one can not like porn and not want to be involved in it but still be pro-sex.

You are starting to defend her freedom to BELIEVE,  you realise ? Should we have blind FAITH in her words ?

ETA : I'm not saying she is evil. She sounds evangelical though.

I think you need to go back and see it as it unfolded. Her statements were a direct response to Maddy posting a bunch of porn links. I mean she basically said that's not what she'd want to do.

I never based our discussion about that .. merely on the OPs first post. I mean , looking at her first post, it was very likely she would respond to Maddy that way.

Maddy knew.

Oh no, Seicher...a destructive philosophy or religion should always be confronted... and more stuff that was ewy gooey patronizingly off the mark

To quote a forumite: I said what I said. I meant what I said. I still mean what I said. Every. Word.  The rest of what you wrote... yeah. No. And again, I've seen these "discussions." Not going there. I said what I said. That conversation was not loving, it wasn't confronting to gently guide (puhlease). It was taking pot shots. Read what I wrote. I don't like ANY religions. I also don't like hypocrisy masquerading as being PC and touchy feely. Nothing else to say.

I don't see in her initial post where she said anything specific about not creating content for sex here.   What she did say was that she wanted to change to be more involved in creative endeavors in SL vs however it was she had been involved here.  So this was a personal change for her.

The post bears a title to which she never refers. Seeking HIM. Priests referred to this principle throughout the centuries. Entering the 'bad'  world to find God' s work in it.

If I set up a text like this , I KNOW people will say : " Are you religious ? "

Well, this is what makes me think she might be thinking of creativity as something very life-changing....spiritual, self-actualizing, something indeed very deep. But this is not always the same as a formalized religion.

But the disdain for what has created this world and which she rejects is there. And that has been picked up upon by others.

We are talking about a married woman here, btw. She left that to see in her post.

I still find the OP sounds like her beliefs are based in Evangelical Christianity.

Do you think everybody in SL participates in cybersex? I know lots of creators who spend all their time creating here and cybering doesn't appeal to them...creating is their passion.   And I see this as what the OP wants to do.  And she would have to reject her past to move on to something new, right?  But this doesn't mean she thinks others are 'bad' for still doing it -- she even said that.

No. And many creators / merchants haven' t .

Neither have they felt the need to declare this here at first like the OP did. That' s the difference. She could have gone  ahead and start creating.

( She has the freedom to post anything of the sort, of course. )

And why are those that do create for the Adult side  ( those she regards as the freask she heared about ) the UNrealistic Dreamers ?

Well what, do you think she posted it only to tell everybody how bad they were for engaging in cybersex?

She simply wanted to share her journey, to connect -- she said this.  Now whether this is a good thing on a forum like this, to share in this open way, that is debatable. And whether someone should begin as a member of a forum in this way, again, debatable.

But for some reason you and some others are taking it all against you somehow....I don't think it is or needs to be.

@Luna Bliss : No. I take no offence of her words. And I don' t mind her personal digital abstinance at all .. and whomever she seeks I hope she' ll find.

But she is wrong in her assumptions .. the Realistic Dreamers here have been amongst those that produce adult material.

And Luna ? .. Lay off now .. I need my sleep .. :P

She never said that.

But it is interesting, why she would be naming those involved in creativity as "Realistic Dreamers".  Apparently this is more real to her than whatever she had been doing for 12 years.

I wasn’t joking when I said I thought this was all part of an MLM scheme. She botched it, yes, but one can learn quite a bit from reading a person’s profile. I won’t reveal what it says, lest I be accused of engaging in stalkerish behavior, but it was revealing.

Evangelical? Almost certainly.

Well she came up with that term so I think she should get to define it.

But in my mind all creative endeavors are of value.

*but then I remember that Hitler painted...hmmmm

Once again, I didn't hear any assumption that those who create adult content would not be considered  Realistic Dreamers. She only said she did not find creating porn appealing.

Multi-level marketing? lol    A cursory glance at this forum would cause a sane person looking to convert others to think twice about that.  Sounds paranoid, Beth.  I think she just wanted to share her journey, and who knows it may have lead to the revelation that she 'found God' within that creativity.

* Again, I saw no evidence that she was trying to force or convert anyone. Her posts have a journal vibe.

FFS, she sells Herbalife, Luna. Herbalife.

You go ahead and draw your own conclusions. Don’t let pesky things like facts get in your way.

I’m going to bed.

Do you think she's going to try and get us to lose weight?   I hope not. Eating is a primary activity in lockdown.
