nature walks, train rides, anything that shows off SL that doesn't require much SL experience.

Hi Berlin,

Forgotten City is an interesting place to explore. If you visit, feel free to lounge on the sofas in the lighthouse or balance on the ottoman, they're mine and I'm rarely home.

There's a ski-jump, a race track and a mechanical toy store up in the sky. The default landing point will put you at a directory of things to see there.

And if you just want to have a quiet, thoughtful chat, I recommend the little table at "The Far Away".

Have fun!

Let me gather my load of links for you....I have tons. Most of these may require *some* experience, but, really, part of enjoying these places is the learning how.  As both a newbie, and an oldie, I have enjoyed them, quite immensely.  Part of the fun in being new, although at times frustrating, is the learnign how to function.  It can be quite hilarious, and sharing that experience with another, can often times make it more enjoyable.  If, however, you are the type to get frustrated, and perhaps angry, when things aren't working quite right, stick to the places that require less experience.  I can't say whether each would be, or would not be, easy for someone new to sl. All I can say, is try it.... you just never know!

(these are not romantic places, they are merely fun places)....now to go find my links...

Ok, now I must say I have NO affiliation with any of these places. I also cannot promise they all still work, or that I haven't included one more than once, lol. But, it's a good starting off point. I know they all worked as of July, but in sl time, that's a long time. I'd be more than happy to find other places you're interested in if you have amore specific idea of what you want. These are all places you can enjoy alone, or with someone. Amusement parks, mazes, places to go surfing or other activities, etc..(and surprisingly, some of the things you think will be difficult, aren't so difficult once you get started, not to emntion,t he whole trying part.. hilarious, at times, haha)

Okay, I know who to ask the next time I'm looking for places to visit!

;-).

Haha , yes, I have gathered a rather large load of LMs and slurls to places over time. Sadly most of my older ones no longer exist.  I keep those lms in a special nc, nostalgia and all.  I have a lot of fun tping around the grid finding fun places, lol.

I should probably not mention just how many places I've visited in sl, because I have an itch ti randomly wander aimlessly. Although that's exactly how hubby and I found our very first favorite place in the slworld(a castle, that no longer exists, but even at the time, was always empty). It's also how we found the old Africa sims which were absolutely breathtaking, and amazing. I really wish they were still around :( We used to have so much fun racing zebras and causing innocent mayhem.

Thanks, Tari, that was just fantastic!

You are quire welcome.  If you have any specific ideas of what you'd like to look for, or do, feel free to drop me a line anytime. I'm pretty good at finding neat places, lol.

Not sure if it's still around, but try looking up SL Botanical Garden, used to go there quite often! Just checked, it's still there, and the region name is The Botanical Gardens. There are also a couple zoos and amusement parks that are great for silly fun, as well!

Edited to add additional areas

I keep telling myself I should get out more (allthough lately it's more like I should get IN more—my inworld time has been scant recently) but when I'm inworld I always get distracted by something in the here and now.  You're like the embodiment of what I want to do but haven't.

Thanks for all the slurls, and I am glad to see someone doing what I idealized doing.

Aspen Fell is lovely, a bit mysterious but if you hike to the top of the mountain there are lovely look-out points and seating.  Creations Park is also worth going to as you wander through pretty gardens with ponds, some mythical creatures, a treehouse with cuddle poses a zen garden.  It is a non-profit sim to benefit Parkinsons Sufferers.
