  1. All you need to do is NOT uncancel. That 60 days is the time that your name, avatar, and inventory will still be able to be restored if you change your mind. Still Want to Cancel? If you still want to cancel your account, click on the cancel button below. You can reactivate your account by 07/28/2011. Your Second Life name, avatar and inventory items will still be yours if you reactivate before 08/27/2011. You will need to create a new account if you decide to rejoin Second Life after 08/27/2011.
  2. Yeah, there really is no reason to AR them. Do people AR just anyone who... stands in one spot for more than, say, ten minutes? ... won't answer you in local or IM? ... goes AFK? What's the reasoning there? No wonder LL has trouble getting to real issues.
  3. For Phoenix and other viewers that require a last name, use Resident.
  4. It's not real land. Or even virtual land. It's land that "exists" only in the HUD.
  5. It's a turn-based game that's played using the Tiny Empires HUD. You find a liege, buy land, make improvements, buy more land, recruit subjects, buy more land, make more improvements, buy more land, etc. Many players have alts to up their land holdings and so increase their rank. They don't necessarily have to be parked out of sight and many don't even sign their alts on unless their Kingdom's ruler is giving away acres, the Trader is coming, etc.
  6. Once you set it for sale, it automatically gets listed in search, under Land Sales. Beyond that, you can post listings in the appropriate sub-Forum under http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Land-Forum/ct-p/LandForum (Parcels for Sale: Mainland, etc.), various third-party forums, etc.
  7. Unlimited? I've never heard of anyone hitting a limit, and I know people who have hundreds of people in theirs (I keep mine pretty trim). And seriously... if you have so many in your list that you do actually hit a limit... it's not likely that you'll even remember who all of them are.
  8. Doubtful, unless you have an old e-mail that was sent as an offline IM... ETA: You might also find a folder with your old user name located in the directory located at C:\Users\YOURWINDOWSLOGINNAME\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife, if you're using the same PC that you used to use that account on and haven't deleted those files. ETA II: See https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User_settings for locations of those files for operating systems other than Windows 7.
  9. Wow. At 15 cents per article and 5 minutes per, that works out to a whopping $1.80 an hour. Paying SL wages for RL spamming. Nice racket!
  10. That may be true, but getting a region rolled back in order to restore content that rightfully belongs to someone else is, or should be, considered abuse. "Warning: Deliberate use of rollbacks to obtain additional copies of no-copy content can be considered abuse and is dealt with accordingly." Unfortunately, "no-copy" may be the key word there... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Managing-Private-Regions/ta-p/700115#Section_.7.4

    Land

Then you want to look at listings inworld, Parcels for Sale: Mainland or any of a number of classified sections on various third-party forums. This isn't the place for it. Edit: Wrong Forum/URL

  13. Turn them off? Then maybe Display Names won't bother you quite so much. Showing or hiding display names To show or hide display names inworld, both in chat and over all avatars: Log into Second Life. Choose Me > Preferences from the top menu. Click the General tab. Select the View Display Names checkbox. If the box is checked, display names are shown. If the box is unchecked, display names are hidden. Click OK. ETA: You might have better luck making friends if you put something in your profile. Maybe join a group or two?
  14. Exactly. My own "clickable body parts" have an option to allow everyone to touch, or only those on an access list, and also denying (ignoring completely) those who are banned.
  15. Maybe you're not on their "access list."

  17. Look to see if you're wearing an attachment that may be playing the music. If you TP to a different region and it continues to play, that's more than likely what it is.
  18. Don't give up just yet. Sure somebody will have some ideas to help you get it fixed.
  19. They do a pretty good job of taking care of the spammers. Sure they'll get to it sooner or later. We'd all rather they get to it sooner, but...
  20. Try a reboot as Knowl said. If that doesn't work... You may need to get comfortable with deleting those files, or get someone who is comfortable to do it for you. This page lists the file locations, with a link to where they are if you have trouble finding them: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Clear_Cache This page tells you how to do a full uninstall, which you may end up needing to do: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/How_do_I_fully_uninstall_and_reinstall_Second_Life%3F
  21. At login screen, before signing in, go to Preferences (Edit/Preferences), Network tab. ETA: In Viewer 2: Choose Me menu > Preferences. Click Setup tab. Click the Reset button near Cache Location. After you're prompted, restart the Viewer. If that doesn't work, try clearing manually: Clearing the Cache from Outside Second Life If you're sure of what you're doing, you can also clear your cache manually. With Second Life closed, go to the appropriate pathway and delete all the files inside the "cache" folder. Get more help on where to find these. Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\SecondLife\cacheAlternatively, use environment variable %APPDATA% to shorten this path to: %APPDATA%/SecondLife/cache Windows Vista - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\cache Windows Vista Home Premium - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\browser_profile\cache Windows 7 - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\browser_profile\Cache Windows 7 - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\SecondLife\ (Viewer version 1.23.5 (136262)) Mac - /Users/<username>/Library/Caches/SecondLife Linux - ~/.secondlife/cache
  22. Then the first thing that I would do would be to clear my cache to see if that fixes it...
