  1. They have been working on the back end of things because of the bugs they had of residents losing items after relog . The disks were getting full and running out of storage space. So they have been working on things. I think ever since they started working on it, they disabled that page until they get it worked out... Or they totally borked it. But it has been an issue since then. I can imagine how large the usage became after mesh was released But you might try your browser settings. If using IE9 and up, try hitting F12 and down at the bottom change it to compatibility mode browsing... Not guaranteeing that works. But maybe

    I would also Like to point out some safety tips on phishing scams that are designed to steal your password and take over your account. There are a lot of clever things people can do to trick you to enter your password on a FAKE website. Do not click links posted in chats that ask for you to sign in. . Go to the SL website by your self with no LINK.. secondlife.com and access your account.   3. Hehe Yea. I just don't see it happening. It would be cool if it did, but I think last names coming back is a dead topic at the lab..   4. One thing I have found with making SL images. Is Sharpen them before resizing... Free Transofrm can cause a lot of loss. I make ma 2048 and sharpen it a couple times then resize to 1024 or 512 I use the resize image instead of free transform
  5. That new menu settings were released in 2.64 on up Upgrading is a good choice. Like Gaia says there are hundreds of bug fixes and in 2.65 the rewrite of the decimater is awesome!...

  7. If you actually have the object file you can import it to Photoshop cs4 extended on up and paint directly onto the object and save out the textures Without the actual obj or .dae file you are stuck working with flat images and getting to know the tolopology of the uv map helps..

  9. When you export the DAE. On the side panel in Collada export options. There should be an operator preset dropdown. Click that and chose "Second Life Static" For Static meshes . make sure in the panel the include UV textures. Without those UV textures referenced and the textures in the folder. The SL uploader will not be able to ad them on upload Chosing Second Life Static should include the UV textures by default on export Providing you set up materials and textures correctly.

  11. About land/ Objects tab. refresh the objects list. on bottom It Gives detailed list of users objects and dates rezzed and how many each users has but doesnt go all the way in detail for each object
  12. 16-17 Allowed on main grid.. Teen Grid was merged with main grid. which gave birth to adult rating/regions Maybe they saw something more than you were showing on your screen who knows,,, I dont judge anyone for playing child avatars. It may not be for me, nor do I like to be around it. But thats my choice of life... I Won't knock anyone for roll playing as long as it is legally done and harming no one else in doing so.

  14. Something Also I think you should see is how this girl made this dress. She did an awesome Job Keeping Topology in mind. Using somewhat of a retopology method to model, keeping it low poly and very nice. Very intuitive Modeling like this eliminates your need of retopo. Zbrush can do this and Maya should also be able to .

  16. He/she is Not suggesting that at all. A lot of designers design using high poly like you do. But you have to learn retopology and make your mesh more feasable for game assets. .. low poly... It is best pratice to make the mesh high poly then create a low poly game asset from the high poly mesh . Not all venues do things the same and with SL being more of a roll play environment versus real life. You should really expect a wide range of rules that you need to follow to help the place you visit achive the goals of it's intended build. If a resident cdan not respect dress codes and rules then expect to be repremanded on it. Adult or not. . Yer gonna be told yer out of line

  19. Yea I noticed a lot of them were down yesterday whilist trying to do sometersting. One of the regions actually fell apart when i was using it., I ended up Going to pathfinding test server to finish what I had started...
  20. /me wonders how heavy the mesh is in vertecies/polygons. May I view your model in world my self? Mesh Permissions are done server side . If the server is having issues with your mesh then it will report errors... What permissions you have set in the file is beyond me. Sounds like your video card may be struggling? Also if your viewer is having issue on upload try disabling the generation and use of SLM files in debug settings maybe . open debug and find MeshImportUseSLM and set it to false.. The mesh shouldnt cause any issue with folder creation. Not sure but possibly your hardware is struggling somewhere and should run some benchmarks maybe. Chek Video card temps etc
  21. Heh I stopped using TPV viewers a long time ago,, Just havent felt safe since Emerald BS. I enjoy using viewer 3 . I dont have to wait for the TPV viewers to get new features important to SL and its future and their fmbling bugs.. Using firestorm pretty much made my decission to go back to Regular SL. The bugs and issues just was not worth my time in SL ., After getting over the hurdle of learning viewer 3 it has been a fantastic Sl experience. The only TPV I will ever even consider using will be Exodus Viewer which will be working on the Second Life materials inclusion I dont have crash problems like I did with FS So In my oppinion the official viewer is always the safest and best way to go...

  24. /me wonders how many others crashed around the same time or close to the same time you did... Sometimes a resident can throw on too many items with large textures that can run it up there... I would imagine it is the cause of a lot of crashing viewer side.. Your card should be discarding unused textures to maintain memory " you would think " But a formal event like that can really load up a lot of textures on a viewer. Setting an avatar limit will probably help like suggestaed above. "Possible graphics griefer as well " I wonder how much texture memory usage is going to increase when second life materials gets released... instead of 1 texture. There will be many lol 3 to 5? Time for everyone to upgrade to a 2 gig vid card " minimum " lol
