  1. It's quite amazing after hours of searching I'm unable to find something as simple as a mesh katana, which is probably the most popular melee one-handed weapon in any virtual environment. I've looked through at least 50 pages on marketplace, nothing. - Mesh only. Needs to be very high quality. I'm talking about Mandala-level quality. Preferably in black - Needs to come with a sheathe - Don't need any combat system. If it comes with one and is not overpriced then that's fine - Don't even need to be scripted. But a few holding poses would be nice - Relatively inexpensive. I'm not willing to pay 1k for a mesh sword. That's the price you pay for a fatpack of dresses, not 1 mesh sword I really like the Mandala one, however it doesn't come with a sheathe. That is the only dealbreaker or I would've got that one already. Fairlight one is ok since it comes with a few poses, but it's way overpriced at 900L.
  2. I'm looking for some thigh-length ballet boots that don't look furturistic/Victorian. I already have the Rosal ones and they're not what I'm looking for. - At least thigh length, the higher the better, so no overknee ones - Needs to fit Maitreya Lara - Doesn't look really bulky and awkward like the Rosal one - Leather or rubber preferred Thanks.
  3. How about just a MESH filter? There's already a "100% mesh", "partial mesh" tags, why isn't there a filter to filter out anything except these two categories?? So f*cking sick of searching for something in marketplace and 90% of the search results are applier crap, even if I use the "NOT Applier" as a keyword. The fact that half of the applier stuff slaps on mesh body icons because they look good on an ad, doesn't help. So ridiculous seeing MAitreya Lara icon on something that's not even mesh, I wish there's an infraction for this, How about ability to filter MULTIPLE categories like every single other search engine on the internet? Want to search for platform boots AND heels categories? Sorry you're out of luck because SL marketplace is too dumb to search for TWO THINGS at the same time. I really don't get how LL logic works.
  4. I know you can "add" a preexisting pose in Qavimator, but that automatically causes the imported avatar to overlay on top of existing avatar. If I manually edit one avatar's coordinates so it's beside the other avatar, that will mess up the pose, because most poses don't have 0,0,0 as the coordinates. So what's the proper way of making duo poses in Qavimator?
  5. Looking for a casual holding hands or arm-in-arm pose, static or subtly animated, that: - Isn't the romantic/xxx type where you're about to kiss each other or something. Head facing forward, not each other. Literally the only areas that should even be animated are the arms and maybe legs - For two girls - NOT a walker I plan to put this in a couples animator so we can sync this pose without using poseballs, not for photography purposes. These three poses in the ad are exactly what I'm looking for:  Except unfortunately this is a walker so I can't use it.
  6. I tried selecting "high" instead of "choose from file" as well, it still makes me hover a few feet. There was no visible difference in physics wireframe mode with "high" and "choose from file".
  7. That thread is not that helpful, it only offers two suggestions, either optimizing the physics model or setting physics mode to "prim", both of which I already did. Additionally, I'm using official latest viewer, not Firestorm x64 (which has a bugged mesh physics uploader).

  11. Anyone know of any blog or website that keeps up with the grid's latest games and events, NOT shopping events or hunts? By games and events I mean stuff like the Madpea games, the Ghost Town hunt in 2015 for Firestorm viewer, and unforgettable masterpieces like Kagami in 2014 (best game experience I've had in SL), stuff you can enjoy with friends that don't involve killing braincells searching for tiny boxes in some shop you don't care about, aka "hunts". Free or entry fee are all fine. I'd happily buy a ticket for an experience like Kagami.
  12. Does anyone know how to create proper physics for mesh terrain? I thought using "use file" for physics would be the best possible quality since it's the exact same mesh model, but the collision is still terrible, it's a simple mostly flat piece with gentle bumps and my avatar hovers at least 1-2ft from it. Physics have been set to "prim" in edit mode already.
  13. Does anyone know what error message will be displayed if my workplace blocks SL? I'm unable to access SL at the moment (yet I was able to last week). I want to know if it's a problem with some internet settings or if my company simply blocked SL's ports or something.
  14. Was it a gacha? Some stores like CandyDoll put a selfdestruct script in their no-copy gacha items, so the moment you try to rez the gacha, it'll permanently erase it from SL. We're not talking about regular anti-rez scripts where it simply returns the thing into your inventory if you try to rez it. Yes a selfdestruct script, in a no-copy item. Apparently they expect you to attach the object instead and unpack it by dragging the contents directly into your inventory. If that's the case then you're out of luck because the exact same thing happened to me and the creator just told me to suck it up basically and buy another one.

Welcome to SL, where 90% of all creators are snobs, a-holes or generally provide terrible (usually nonexistent) customer service because their RL probably sucks and want to vent in SL, and there's is absolutely nothing you can do because LL couldn't care less about pissed off customers (more impulse purchases = more $ in circulation = more $ for LL). People will generally give the excuse "oh they're not online that much" or "they're online but busy doing something else". Complete BS. If you don't have time to answer customer queries wtf are you selling stuff in SL for full price? Ever heard of hiring a CSR? Or redirecting IM's to your mailbox? This is why: - Buy stuff from marketplace if possible. Leave a 1-star review if you're pissed off or receives a bad product. Won't do much but at least you can vent. Also you can check product reviews to see if it's "safe" to buy it - Never buy anything too expensive unless it's from a VERY trusted creator (like Truth or Belleza). People must be nuts to think about spending 2000L on some unknown mesh body from an unknown creator - No demo = no buy. Simple as that. 99% of the time no demo means the product sucks and the creator is afraid if you try out the demo, you won't buy it Buying stuff in SL is like investing in a stock, you're never sure of the quality and there is zero refund policy. In fact I've bought defective products before and certain a-hole creators just told me to "suck it up" instead of redelivering.

I'm sorry that you want to look like this:  When the majority want to catch up with current-gen graphics and look like this:  (Not my pics, found through Google) From your OP it's clear you don't really understand how mesh works. Your basic ugly linden body is mesh. Everything you see in SL is mesh. The only difference is their complexity. Complex mesh = the "mesh" that people talk about, the ones that can mold into complex shapes. Obviously, there's a cost associated with better looking graphics. Mesh in my opinion is one of the best things to happen to SL. Most people will leave SL if they still look like the above pic 1 in 2016, and that's a fact.
  17. How does one give mesh structures proper collision? I have a simple upside-down V-shaped archway with literally less than 100 vertices, and trying to give it physics in the uploader so I can walk through it but collide with the solid parts. In the uploader I have tried: - Selecting "lowest", "low", "medium", "high" and "load from file" (same .dae file) for physics level - Selecting "solid" in the mesh type - Selecting "better detail" Nothing works. In fact it does the exact opposite of what I want. I can't walk under the archway (invisible wall), but I can walk through the solid parts... what in the world? It's like SL is trolling me.
  18. Randomly when I log in, avatar physics do not work. Yes I have physics enabled at max, yes physics LOD is set to 1, and yes I have physics layer worn, the same layer I always wear. No it's not because the physics are subtle that I can't detect it, and no it's not a problem with the mesh body because not even the default body bounces. The only fix is to relog, but it's quite annoying to have to do this on a regular basis. Anyone know why this happens and how to fix it properly?

I think most people are familiar with the absolutely annoying alpha visual glitch, where semitransparent textures like silk or tattoos either become completely invisible or have this "shattered glass" distorted effect when overlayed with another semitransparent texture. The only way to solve this is to mask one of the layers, though making it really ugly in the process. Since the forum doesn't allow me to actually pinpoint store names or people for some weird reason, I can only use generic terms. So there was this really great looking dress that I found from this event. The dress has a few "panels" here and there with semitransparent rubbery textures, which of course will conflict with any tattoos or semi-transparent stockings/socks that you might be wearing. I politely sent the creator an IM saying if I can get a moddable version of the dress so I can make those rubbery panels invisible, because I won't be able to wear my tattoos and stockings while wearing this dress otherwise. There was absolutely no reason why I can't get a moddable version because, a) it's not scripted and does not come with a HUD and b) it was fitted mesh, there was nothing I can do with a moddable version other than tinting/making stuff invisible. Instead, the creator decided to be a complete a-hole and just told me to "suck it up" and "not use tattoos or stockings". Lol seriously? This is kind of representative of at least half the creators that I've had the luck to communicate with. Why are most creators in SL so damn PARANOID about the damn mod permission on their NON-SCRIPTED stuff? I don't get it. Are they under the delusion that if they make their stuff no mod, somehow it becomes impossible to copybot? Though not sure how fitted mesh stuff is even rippable to start with... Or do they just think by making stuff no mod, they get this ego-boosting feel of "control" over the customers when it does absolutely nothing in reality? I'm a creator myself with some blender experience, though I don't sell anything I make, I prefer to just keep them to myself and friends, so yes I have a very solid understanding of how to create mesh and textures. There is absolutely zero reason I'd ever make anything unmoddable, other than gift cards and combat systems, and scripts in general. The only purposes that making stuff unmoddable serves is, a) pisses off your customers and b) discourage creativity completely. This is a frickin' virtual world and you're trying to discourage creativity by preventing people from resizing/tinting/playing around with stuff they damn bought? /rant
  20. Anyone know how to upload priority 5/6 animations? I edited floater_animation_bvh_preview.xml to allow 6 as the max value for uploads, but the uploader still won't go higher than 4. I need a priority 5 or 6 animation because I'm tired of my doll-holding animation being overrode by either pose stands or ground sits. Every time I hop on a pose stand or use a ground sit, I have to detach my attachment, then re-attach it to get the hold pose to play again. Using a timer event in a script to force the animation every 0.1 seconds doesn't work sadly because my hold pose is at priority 4, the max under normal circumstances, but annoyingly most pose stand poses are priority 5, while most ground sits are priority 4.
  21. Anyone experienced with mesh lips in SL? I'm trying decide whether to get Loud Mouth or Nyamx2. I used to dislike mesh lips due to the complete failure for tinting to match skin tones, but now with skin appliers that's not too much of a problem anymore. Also SL doesn't have built-in lip animations so I'm sick of not being able to simply open my mouth in a non-distorted way. What I'm mainly concerned with: - How does applier work? Does it have Omega support? - Features and accessories? Does it just come with a pair of lips and nothing else, or does it include some fun stuff? - How active is the creator, and how buggy is the product? Thanks. Edit: after some research here's the info I have so far: - Nyam creator is completely inactive, and the product is no mod, both are somewhat dealbreakers. Flip side is it includes 4 mouth poses - Loud Mouth only includes 1 pose but it's mod, and creator is somewhat active
  22. Is it possible to make the geometry centre at the centre of the hook? The moment I add an edge or face instead of a vertex, the centre (ie the directional arrows in SL) would get moved to the gap between the hook and the invisible edge/face. Yes I've already moved object centre to the centre of geometry or centre of mass in blender, and it actually looks fine in blender (directional arrows are at centre of hook), but after uploading to SL it doesn't appear that way. Also, I've seen tons of mesh in SL that are able to have tiny sizes without adding an extra face (ie when I right click it, I see no extra parts). I'm pretty sure they were able to do this by just adding a vertex since the vertex is completely invisible and won't get highlighted even if you right click it. My other models were able to expand their bounding box with just a single extra vertex, any reason why this hook doesn't work?
  23. Here is the .blend: http://www.pasteall.org/blend/38461 Note that in order to bypass the 0.01 limit, I added an extra invisible vertice close to the hook to enlarge the bounding box. The same thing worked for some other models I was working on (no problem after imported), but just has problems on this hook. Yes I noticed in the uploader, beside "scale", it says dimensions after upload will be 0.028/0.018/0.01.
  24. Thanks, but unfortunately applying the scale didn't have any effect, the dimensions after uploading are still 0.028/0.018/0.01 and the Z axis is still stretched.
  25. I have this simple hook created in blender, you can see its dimensions in the screenshot:  The dimensions are nowhere near the SL limits of 0.01/64. Next I try to upload the model (in test grid):  Looks fine in the previewer window. This is after uploading:  The dimensions are completely messed up, and one of the dimensions turns to the limit 0.01 for some reason. You'll also notice that the model itself is messed up too, with the Z axis wayyy stretched (despite being shrunk to 0.01). Anyone know what's going on here?
