  1. After extensive testing I've concluded that enabling advanced lighting model will guarantee to crash my viewer, both Firestorm and the vanilla linden viewer. The error is the form of a brief freeze, then the error popup "Firestorm.exe has stopped responding", clicking OK would shut down the process. The odd thing is that this usually only happens in a few sims, such as (unfortunately) my home sim Even more odd is it rarely if ever happens in crowded regions such as shopping events, which leads me to conclude it's not related to computer specs Enabling advanced lighting model has little negative impact on FPS, which means my computer has no issues handling it in the GPU department The crash happens randomly. Sometimes only takes 10 seconds. Other times might take 20min before crashing Decreasing draw distance/LOD/spinning camera around has no effect on crash Nvidia drivers all up to date. Already tried reverting to a few older versions, no effect Increasing TDRDelay to infinite or a higher number in regedit does not prevent crash, but would simply CTD the client without any error This crash only started happening after one of the major viewer patches about half a year ago This leads me to think some rezzed objects at my home sim is causing the crash. Other than removing every single rezzed item at my home sim which is the absolute last resort, anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Firestorm support didn't have any idea about it.
  2. Put this as your search query. SL uses similar operators as Google, but seems to be less intelligent when it comes to upper/lowercase and special characters. "latex catsuit maitreya NOT Applier NOT applier NOT APPLIER NOT omega NOT Omega"
  3. Anyone equating mesh bodies to a "fad" probably has zero clue on how 3D modelling works. It's the equivalent of saying "16GB RAM is a fad compared to 512MB RAM". The TLDR version is it's here to completely replace the malformed, outdated (by at least 15 years) piece of crap known as the linden body, permanently.
  4. Yeah I saw that in my marketplace search but it doesn't come in white, and the straps are too thick, more for an urban/street look. The panel and o-ring looks great though, sigh.
  5. Hi I'm looking for a simple and cute o-ring collar or choker (the type with the hanging o-ring) like the one pictured below: NOT the type with the joined o-ring (already have a bunch of collars like this): Not looking for posture collars. No spikes or excessive straps/buckles/studs, or the tough rusted metal type serious/hardcore enough to chain hyenas, and needs to come with a HUD of colours including white, baby pink and black. The bigger the o-ring the better, don't really like the ones with the tiny finger-sized o-ring. Preferably leather, latex is ok too. This one is great but the spikes are the dealbreaker: Doesn't matter if it has BDSM scripts, we don't do D/s RP, my partner and I simply love wearing collars/chokers and cosplaying nekos/puppies. Surprisingly so far I haven't been able to find any on marketplace (I've searched the first 20+ pages under accessories -> necklaces and accessories -> bdsm accessories)... all the collars/chokers I've seen so far either have spikes/studs/buckles, look way too hardcore/scary almost like they're for locking monsters, low quality prim/sculpt, or is the joined o-ring type. Thanks.
  6. Anyone know where this open jacket's from? Or something similar. Off-shoulder, completely open (not half open or 3/4 open or zipped up somewhere), lace/satin/leather preferred.
  7. Anyone know where to find a good lace/semitransparent shrug/shawl for beachwear like this? Preferably no sleeve or short sleeve. (Beach outfit from Blade & Soul)
  8. Everyone heard of the infamous "material of model is not a subset of the reference model" error, but I was playing around today and found that most of the time it's probably the uploader's fault. So I tried uploading a mesh item with 2 materials, then created a simple cube with 2 materials to assign it as the lowest LOD to save on upload costs, of course it didn't work and threw that stupid error. I inspected the file with notepad++ to make sure that it has the same number of materials, and all materials have exact same name. I even copy/pasted the entire material generation section of the code. Nope still throws that stupid error. So here comes the funny part: I selected the exact same mesh item as the lowest LOD, and it still throws that stupid error. Lolwut? So basically the uploader claims that the exact same file has different # of materials/different material names. So I can safely conclude the "load from file" option for the LODs is broken and you're forced to use the uploader to generate LOD's? Not really much I could do other than a very long facepalm... I guess I have no choice but to use the uploader to generate a very bad lowest LOD model?
  9. Anyone have this weird issue with Firestorm freezing and becoming unresponsive (faintly see the "logging out" bar) when logging out? The only way to get rid of the client is to end task, as the memory usage and CPU usage in task manager just stays fixed, read/write is 0mbps. It's not a huge issue but there must be something wrong. This is with a clean install.
  10. Can't even upload a cube, so something must be wrong with mesh uploads again? I wonder if they'll ever fix the absolutely abysmal mesh uploading in SL, it's almost like RNG chance your mesh will upload successfully even when the server is working.
  11. Cause there are absolutely ZERO repercussions for it. Lol. So basically if you see some pathetic ***** rip Batman's model from Batman Arkham Asylum, or Juliette from Lollypop Chainsaw, convert it into a .dae with zero edits, then list it for 599L, there is absolutely nothing you can do. I mean technically I shouldn't really care since I'm not associated with WB, but I'm just curious what's LL's thought process behind this? "Oh ripping stuff and selling it for profit is not nice, don't do it! But if you do... well nothing we can really do, so carry on". You can't even report these violations, which is absolutely retarded. I mean it's already stupid that WB or Nintendo needs to contact LL themselves in order to have some consequences dealt out (like WB or Nintendo gives a sh*t about something like SL lol), but now LL pretty much gave these assholes an invulnerability shield. That's pretty much the equivalent of copy/pasting Dickens' David Copperfield, rename the title to John McDick and put the author as yourself, then selling it in a bookstore, and never have to worry about getting fined or jailed because only Charles Dickens can file a complaint, but he's dead. I guess more morons buying these ripped off models = more $$$ for LL.
  12. I'm looking for a hair ribbon/tie like this for ponytails that's shaped like a flower, I'm guessing they're called elastic/velvet hair ties? Not entirely sure. Searched for various keyword combinations on marketplace but no luck at all, "hairtie" itself doesn't even return much results, and "hair tie" is way too broad, 90% of results are just hair. High quality mesh please, preferably in red or black. Thanks.
  13. I know that the uploader will automatically separate the object into 2 prims if it detects it contains more than 8 faces, but my object has exactly 8 faces (0-7), uploader is still splitting it into 2 prims. Does anyone know what else might be causing this?
  14. Clearly you're having problems comprehending what we're talking about here. I was stating that the models of the 2 chokers look 95% identical. What does that mean? It means one of three things: One of the creators saw the other choker and liked it, and simply recreated it in some 3D program like Blender to make it look identical but some very minor differences, which lands on the grey area of legal/illegal One of the creators ripped the 3D model of the other choker, and made some minor edits, and is now selling it as a new product, clearly illegal Both chokers are from a mesh kit which provided its .dae, one of the creators simply made minor edits to it Since I highly doubt they're from a mesh kit, both bullets 1 and 2 can be summed up into one word, suspicious, which is the word I used earlier. What would be your reaction if you saw two 95% identical objects from 2 different stores in SL marketplace, that's likely NOT from a kit? No need to educate me on grade 1 economics, especially since you clearly don't understand the meaning of what I wrote. No one's talking about the ability to charge stupid prices, I'm talking about how silly/stupid it is to charge 6+ times more than the person next door, despite being perfectly legal. Does that mean it's wise? No it means you're either stupid or too lazy to research current competitor prices, or has a devout cult of brainless idiots who will follow your brand for no reason or because they aren't aware other brands exist. Comparing that to a $1/$0.75 price difference is just silly, you think there's any problem with charging 90L? I'm talking about more than 6 times the price here. You think people will call you smart if you charge $20USD per candy bar while the store 5 ft away charges $2? And you do realize that a huge portion of free market is competition right? AKA charging similar prices for similar products?
  15. You do realize if the choker is from a kit, it implies that you can't edit the model, you can only retexture it? Like I said above, the two chokers are 95% identical in model if you look at the o-ring, studs and lock carefully, meaning they're not completely identical, thus NOT from the same kit. Also, I bought the Pink Acid choker and inspected it, unless the creator bought the .dae (which first of all is extremely rare, 99% of kit sellers never provide the .dae, and secondly I highly doubt since I believe Pink Acid does create original mesh), it's not from a kit. Either way, one product is stupidly priced at 499, while the other is a reasonable 65, kinda obvious which one to get. Some creators just have zero clue how to assign a competitive price to their product. I've seen mesh kit resellers (ie not original mesh) sell each colour of their retexture for like 299L, while the store next door sells entire fatpack of the exact same mesh model for like 200...
  16. Nice find, close but with some minor differences (different style of studs, and different front o-ring). Now that looks kind of suspicious, these 2 products are 95%+ identical... makes you wonder if one copied the other.
  17. Does anyone know where this choker/collar is from?
  18. Anyone having trouble uploading mesh today? Tried for several hours, on multiple viewers, in multiple sims, in both beta and live grid: Sometimes it hangs indefinitely on calculate cost. No problem with my mesh file, it happens for every single mesh file, including simple shapes and stuff I've already uploaded Sometimes it will upload, but when I rez it or wear it, it's just an invisible blob of vertices (like when the mesh fails to load) and stays that way permanently (not because slow loading) Servers having problems?
  19. Literally the dumbest post I've ever seen in this forum. 1. Why do you care about what others do in SL? Does it make your private parts uncomfortable a virtual couple is having sex 50 miles away? 2. Why do you care about red light sims? Here's an idea, how about just don't visit them? 3. How do you expect to enforce "no sex no nudity" in SL? The moment someone takes off all their clothes they disconnect? So what if they're trying to edit their shape or skin? What if they're a creator? 4. So basically you're saying all skin creators should go out of business right? As well as anyone who makes things like lingerie since those will definitely involve nudity 5. A significant portion of SL deals with sex on a regular basis, as well as fetishes and related interests. So you're basically saying SL should kill off a few million players for no reason? Do you think reddit will start charging people a premium to participate in NSFW subreddits? Maybe you should actually think before posting.
  20. I know, the problem is the reseller provides no demo, and I can't find another reseller with this suit. If anyone can find another reseller that'd be great too so I can inspect.
  21. I'm looking for the original creator of this bodysuit (not the store selling this in the ad since that's where I screenshotted from), which I'm fairly certain is from some mesh creator kit as I remember demoing it before. The reseller doesn't provide a demo which is why I can't inspect the creator. If anyone know of another reseller with this same suit and provides a demo, that'd work too.
  22. What's with the beta grid today? I tried logging in with 3 characters, none of them can get in and it's been like that for at least 5 hours. It always says "make sure you entered your password correctly". Yes I entered my password correctly, and no I haven't changed my password for months nor was I hacked because I can log into main grid just fine.
  23. Just tried changing all mat names to "mat#", and used official viewer to upload, still same issue. I even used notepad++ to open the .dae and inspected the material names, no special characters or any typos. This is really starting to get annoying...
  24. I just tried uploading a mesh with only 17k triangles TOTAL, with about 6-7 faces. So obviously each face must be below 17k triangles (they're only a few thousand each in reality), but it's still having this annoying material problem. For example if I try to texture face #5, faces 1/3/7 all get textured at the same time, despite them being clearly different faces.
