Subscribe-O-Matic - How to get out???
Dante Tucker replied to Canis Canning's topic in General Discussion Forum
If you are receiving messages from an automated system with no way to opt out this is considered spam. So make sure to AR all the owners of the systems that keep messaging you. That should make them add a way to opt out fairly quickly. -
Undelivered Products ~ What Should I Do?
Dante Tucker replied to Laurence Skytower's topic in Merchants
Regardless of the Marketplace policy I suggest you file a ticket with LL anyway. -
Unfortunately no. There is a slim chance you can get a linden to change it for you. Occasionally they will if you ask via support and it is only a tiney change. But don't get your hopes up

My Region Offline ticket last night was delt with in 5 minutes instead of the 30 minutes it used to take them. I suppose they are getting faster. -

Cannot access two old accounts with inactive email address.
Dante Tucker replied to Storm Mortal's question in Account
Just throwing in: You will need to have correct RL info on file for the two old accounts and ID you are able to show that matches it. -
Phoenix Negative Propaganda Against Viewer 2
Dante Tucker replied to Canoro Philipp's topic in Second Life Viewer
So your problem is not actually with Phoenix, but rather it's users due to how they promote it. I understand I don't understand why people would think they need to promote Phoenix, it's doing just fine. I agree with you people should be a little more polite on the forums. -
Problems with Belleza Skin and their link for answers and help.
Dante Tucker replied to Josie Claven's question in Technical
Right click on the skin in inventory and view it's properties. Contact the person listed as creator via IM. If that does not work, make a notecard with your questions and send it to them, many people prefer this over IM. -
Phoenix Negative Propaganda Against Viewer 2
Dante Tucker replied to Canoro Philipp's topic in Second Life Viewer
Remember Phoenix has always been the second most used viewer behind LL's, back when it was called "Emerald" it was really the first 3rd party viewer that anyone had even heard of. Before it came along only a select handful of people were using 3rd party clients. Pretty much only Nicholaz' and Cool Viewer. Seeing as nothing else existed. So Phoenix does not have to do anything to gain users, it has always had them. -
Phoenix Negative Propaganda Against Viewer 2
Dante Tucker replied to Canoro Philipp's topic in Second Life Viewer
haters of Phoenix will always hate Phoenix no matter what, to unreasonable levels if necessary, they love to spread misinformation, and if they are caught, they say they were "misinformed", one common technique is to claim that they are forced to do something when obviously its a choice, to propagate fear against Phoenix, this is a very popular culture spread specially between Viewer 2 users, i wonder if this culture against Phoenix is encouraged by the Viewer 2 developers. it seems like there is a band of Viewer 2 users dedicated to diminish every new feature and encourage hate against Phoenix so that their viewer would be more popular. you can spot them in that in most of their "criticism" (negative propaganda) against Phoenix, they will add a Viewer 2 ad in their comments, they don't have to be specific about any feature of Phoenix to promote hate against it, they can just post that they hate it and its bad following by a Viewer 2 ad at the end. is this the marketing technique that Viewer 2 has to promote itself? a constant griefing against Phoenix and Phoenix users? this negative propaganda technique is specifically of Viewer 2, how come we never see Dolphin's or Kirsten's users come and "criticize" Phoenix and then add an ad of their viewer? can something be done against their spam and griefing? way to go with the negative propaganda, its the only way Viewer 2 would become more used. -

Should I be able to add tags to posts?
Dante Tucker replied to Dante Tucker's question in Everything Else
That's a good point! I had not noticed that comment. -
I loled.

Serunus wrote: Really? But aren't they mostly there in case of griefers? What if it's something like stealing or anything to do with money? The problem is they often know little to nothing of our local rules, and break many of them in the process of trying to "Help". Often they are rude and unprofessional in their methods as well. They scare off residents, and make others think badly of our real staff under the assumption they are part of it.
-
Also the Policing "groups" tend to be looked down on by most people. Residents are not moderators, unless the land owner gives you rights. Too many times have I had to deal with "SL Police" that come into my sims and try to tell people what to do. I'm quick to ban them.
-
You will find most areas have their own moderation staff. Generally appointed by the land owner. Each area has it's own rules and regulations, they can vary widely. This is pretty much the only policing SL has.

I can but the help says this is restricted to the Member rank, I am but a lowly Resident D: Does this mean the Honored Resident role is actually as high as/higher than Member?

Merchants shouldn't be allowed to specify permissions on items.
Dante Tucker replied to Dante Tucker's topic in Merchants
Josh Susanto wrote: Permissions are what sell my items. Without being able to indicate permissions, I'd have to compete with people who do not offer permissions. That's just silly. OTOH, it would sort of seem to explain who wants the permissions searches done-away-with, and why. That's not what this thread is about. To everyone else, really awesome ideas. I especially liked the suggestion about being able to see the object contents on the web. -

Dante Tucker replied to Dante Tucker's topic in Merchants
Triple Peccable wrote: The problem with that idea is that I sell my items boxed. The permissions of the box are completely different than the permissions of the objects inside the box. That is true. That makes it even more difficult to make things automated. -
