  1. this is from the TOS i didn't quote the whole section.just the part that you were asking about.. 2.2 Age Requirements for Use of Areas of the Service. (ii) Users 16 and 17. If you are at least 16 years of age but less than 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, if it is greater), then you may only access areas of the Service rated General in accordance with our Maturity Ratings. If you have used the Service under an Affiliated Account, you may continue to access your Sponsoring Organization’s Teen Estate, provided that the Sponsoring Organization permits you to continue such access upon reaching the age of 16.
  2. about the only place i saw where it said anything about specific age was in this secrtion..is this the section you are talking about? Gestures, sounds, and maturity ratings Gestures and other sounds played in Second Life are handled differently than voice chat; your personal maturity rating determines whether or not you are able to hear sounds originating from a Moderate or Adult region. Your personal maturity rating must meet or exceed the maturity rating on the region you wish to hear sounds from. Examples If your rating is set to General, you can only hear sounds and gestures that originate from a region that is also rated General. If your rating is set to Moderate, you can hear sounds and gestures that originate from regions that are rated General or Moderate. If you have verifed that you are at least 18 years old and your maturity rating is set to Adult, you can hear sounds and gestures originating from any nearby region, including Adult regions.

  4. it's still a log..i would say they would handle that one case by case.. CS says conversations and logs.. a lot assume they would be playing it safe with leaving out the names..
  5. as i said..linkin park did it just like so many others did..they were touring and doing concerts and on the radio and all that good stuff on their own.. you don't need a recording studio with all that equipment nowdays to put out good sounding high quality music.. getting noticed gets the money needed for the rest.. so we have less boy bands nowdays getting grammies..good hehehe a funny thing about all that file sharing that i noticed..a lot of artists were in favor of it while the moneygrubbers like metalica and dr dre and others were on the RIAA side of it because it was publicity..metalica was on their way out at the time..they saw it as a good way to get noticed again..dre was just a band wagon jumper.. Alanis morrset and others liked the idea of their music reaching a wider crowd.
  6. that was the best thing that could ever happen for music.. hehehe =) music became easier to produce and release when the internet was seen as a great tool to use to promote your own album.. linkin park who self promoted and gave away their music to get noticed..all right around the time napster was in full bloom.. the best thing that could ever happen to music is breaking the hold that the record industry would have on someones music.. a lot of good came from all that file sharing back then..it introduced a lot of music that a lot of people had not heard before.. it also let a lot of groups get noticed that may have been getting snubbed for one reason or another by some recording company... the best thing about it all was more options for people wanting to break into the music industry..they didn't have to use one channle anymore.. it was cool to watch all that going on at the time and to look back on it now hehehe *winks*
  7. i think they mean they got the magical M for forum member.. i have no idea what the M does..i never took the time to look hehehe
  8. hey are you guys seeing the word clothes as a link? i'm starting to see certain words linked..like clothes and ipod and stuff like that..is it me or is everyone seeing these?
  9. i'm not getting rid of mine.. if all outfits came with all layers it would be one thing..but a lot of my faves only have a few.. until it becomes the norm and everyone starts to put out clothes in that way i'm keeping mine hehehehe
  10. "Myth #1: holding your cursor over a texture makes it load faster..." actually i found that if you right clicked a texture it would load faster.. i remember going shopping and when getting there if the store was not rezzed ..i would find the first prim that rezzed then start to right click on them causing the others to show up.. then when infront of a wall full of items that were all grayed out..i would start to click in a zig zag pattern through the center of the wall of items.. they would rezz in the order they were clicked on first.. so after finding out it worked..the first thing i would do after that was to just start clicking on them all rather than waiting for them to rezz..
  11. i wonder if the browser version would work? they have a version that i thought we could get to from our browsers..unless i understood it wrong.. i haven't heard much about it lately though..

I open Safari and search for sl like any other search I get a field with the screen for user name and password and that gets me to here but no further. No picture. I do not click the magnifying glass. according to your operating system..you need a Mac OS X 10.5 or better 10.5 is the minimum requirement this could be your problem...
  14. you did download the mac version i take it? just asking so we can make sure we ask everything to help.. and you also saw the system requirements for the macs ? you can look at those here http://secondlife.com/support/system-requirements/ Also if you have one of these video cards..they won't work with second life.. The following cards are NOT compatible with Second Life: NVIDIA cards that report as a RIVA TNT or TNT2 ATI cards that report as RAGE, RAGE PRO, or RADEON 320M, 340M, 345M, or similar model numbers Intel chipsets less than a 945 including Intel Extreme Cards with the following branding: 3DFX, RIVA, TNT, SiS, S3, S3TC, Savage, Twister, Rage, Kyro, MILENNIA, MATROX

(or mac or linux etc) Oo no thats the bios(basic input output system) not an operating system an operating system is what takes over after the basic input output system gives control to the operating system which resides on the hard drive.. SL needs an operating system to operate..it resides within an operating system..without an operating system working to run it.. it's nothing.. it's an application using the operating system it resides in to run.. ETA: if anything it's a really neat browser.. kind of like that blue E that comes with windows without the bios controlling the computer it would be useless. its a low level operating system. thats why your pc or mac has those messages on the screen at start up. it allows the drives to be read and many other tasks. theres more to it than you think, its all about levels of control. it's not an operating system it's a program that the microprocessor uses to get the system going.. well i'm off to work..have a good evening
  16. no it i a basic input output system not a basic integrated operating system. the opersting system is an operating system
  17. LOL that picture is hilarious hehehehe

Just look at how we have to move around or find anything on the grid..Look at what is consistant in it.. We use a browser...We use SLURLs and use a search engine and other forms of links..
