I don't want people to come into my house uninvited, or for someone to barge into my dressing stall as I try on a new outfit when out shopping. And in SL I'd like to be able to choose to talk to someone in privacy, or build in privacy so I am not distracted. These are rights I believe all people should have. But to create a boundary that causes undue hardship on someone based on the color of their skin, their religion, or their sexual preference is unfair and demonstrates prejudice. They should not be discriminated against and have less rights simply because they were born as a darker person, a woman, or a gay person. Of course we can always choose not be around anyone we don't like, but we should not have the right to create rules/laws that steal from them what we freely give to others.

Back in the day, we got nations to cooperate and love us with trade, and exporting our products. We did it with voluntary solutions, not with using force. Force and aggression is the problem. Instead, we see people on the left arguing whether it is OK to sucker punch those that they don't agree with. Yet, these same people want to project moral superiority on the topic of immigration. That is just crazy! Medhue, I think that LL took the right stance and at the right time. All wars/bombings can be traced back to one fundamental cause -- the objectification of the "other" and the subsequent justification to demonize and do whatever we want with that "other". For the first time in a long while there is an attempt to codify, to bring to the forefront and legitimize, to sanction, to make a law regarding our right to demonize a group of people in this way. There is no greater danger than demonizing others, as all war springs from it. There is an attempt to set a dangerous precedent in the US (in modern times). I totally agree that the US has been paramount in the conflict in the Middle East, and that the bombings are egregious and should be ceased. But LL can't go around taking a political stance on every conflict in the world -- it would never cease and they are not a political organization anyway. I feel that had we attempted to ban those from another country outside the US they would have taken the same stance, so the bombing in the Middle East is a moot point from this perspective. It makes sense that they would take a stance on the core root of the problem that is now surfacing and so threatening to the peace of the entire world, and that they would focus on their 'family' -- those employees affected by the current climate.

Am I going to cross my elderly neighbor, Mrtyle, off my list because she ran around the neighborhood trying to get people to vote against marriage equality for gay people in a local election, a vote that would cause some gay people to endure death totally alone in a hospital due to their spouse not considered as 'family' and so barred from their deathbed, or cause a child to be torn from a gay parent who was deemed unfit by yet another regulation that painted gays as less worthy? Or what about her vote for Republicans that threw a lot of residents off medical care causing some of them to die? She's old and set in her ways, influenced by religion, and I don't expect as much from her, and so she has less culpability in my eyes. These are the kinds of issues that are difficult to sort out.

I think you should put in the restriction that others cannot sell the full-perm flower by itself...most who sell full-perm items specify that their items can only be sold within a larger build. For example, someone could include it in an assembled garden, or as an addition to a house. Otherwise you are setting up a sitiuation for others to compete against you with your own product.

Entity I think that when you encounter these customers who try to manipulate you into doing what they want via a negative review it could be helpful to view them as children having a bit of a fit. This is the way people behave who don't feel they have any power...they don't have trust that reasonable people can come to a kind of compromise when there's a problem, so they start out making a threat and use the only power they know how to have at that moment. If you get defensive in your response right off the bat (and it's very hard not to get defensive when encountering blatant manipulation) then it escalates. So rather than being concerned about their 1-star review my advice is just to ignore that and simply ask "how can I help make this purchase okay for you"? Sometimes, if you're lucky, this will stop the escalation. It has worked for me, and was a trick I learned after allowing a couple of conflicts escalate into near insanity.

Drongle, that sounds complicated. Maybe you know the answer to this - in Inworldz you can take a piece of mesh terrain and stretch it to the size of 1/4th of a sim and it stays at only 1 LI!. Also, you can walk on sculpts the size of a whole sim and don't have to patch in with transparent collision prims. Why can't we do that here?

Well I can say for sure this merchant doesn't sell empty boxes. The rez-faux rezzer would work in the sky or on the ground, but you really need the linden terrain for it to look right....it would look very odd without the terrain and from what I can see patching in with prim terrain would be difficult.

Not really...some people purchase a system from someone else while others create their own scripts to package items. The question is more whether the prefab sim you buy will rez in the sky too. The creator will be able to tell you that. Perhaps you could post the MP link to the prefab sim here in the forum? Then maybe people could vouch for them in terms of at least not being known for selling empty boxes on the MP.

If the terrain and design are more complicated you would run into a lot of problems by trying to rez it in the sky. If it's just buildings rezzed on flat terrain it MIGHT be able to be placed in the sky, depending on what type of rezzer was used when packaging the sim up. Best to contact the creator with these questions as we don't know the details on the complexity of the sim or what packaging system they used.

That can work for a simple sim, but for a complicated sim there would be texturing issues - how the component prims blend in with the terrain is important (prims for walkways, waterfalls, etc.). Plus, the sculpt would need to be phantom and so you'd need to put collision prims everywhere. But again, really only an issue with a more complicated sim.

If it says it needs a .raw file then it's doubtful it could be rezzed in the sky - unless the prefab consists of mostly structures and only needs a very basic prim terrain (like flat ground with a few bumps). Even this, however, would depend on what rezzer they packaged the prefab sim in - it might only work with the ground coordinates. If it's a complicated nature sim it would take a long while to create prim ground for the rest of the components (plants, waterfalls, paths, and more).

.raw files can't be stored in your SL inventory, hence they can't be sent to you via the MP. A .raw file is just the shape of the land, and the only way to change the shape of your land automatically (all at the same time) is to use the Estate controls and download the file from your computer - so that's why it must be sent to you via email. I use .raw files for most of my prefab sims, although I do have some that utilize prim ground. I ask my client to download the .raw onto their land and then I come and rez the prims that fit the land from my 'magic box'...or else I provide them with the rezzer. Best to contact the creator and ask for references with expensive purchases.
