  1. I find I enjoy neighbours a lot more if they're actively trying to be good neighbours and it's something that's important to them, as it is to me. I could be surrounded by a dozen such people and count myself happy and fortunate. That said, I think a dozen is plenty and I'd prefer as few as possible; I won't buy a plot on the mainland if the region is consistently hosting 20 avatars at all hours. I am more apt to purchase on the mainland if there are 0-5 avatars on the region at any one time, which I happily did this season and love it there.
  2. I REALLY LIKE WHAT WE CAN DO WITH SKIES AND LIGHT SO A SPECIFIC PLACE ITSELF HAS A GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL MOOD BEFORE ANYBODY EVEN SAYS A WORD.
  3. I know what you mean. It IS liberating. It's been my experience that my female persona used to get more random solicitation than my male persona (and now no solicitation at all YAY) but the kind of solicitation has always without exception been about photography. Whether just photography or "photography nudge nudge" I have no idea; I didn't entertain any offers either way.
  4. Bare Rose by June Dion is a store that has always been my best friend for genre-specific looks. You'll find lots of Samurai and Samurai-adjacent clothing. That link is for mkp but the in-world store is a sight to behold and I highly recommend going to see it in person. It is one of the Second Life destinations in fashion and accessories.
  5. Not "bad" in my opinion no; as long as they're not talking crap about you and leaving you vulnerable and feeling worse than when you started. As long as the "Friends" ones are lifting you and aiding you in endeavours of self-care and self-confidence. As long as you come away feeling better than when you started. What could be so bad about that
  6. This was fun. And it didn't endow me with six fingers LOL
  7. in 2007 I realized I had a crush on my partner-at-the-time's avatar when he kept insinuating, at the time, that he was going to update his skin and hair to be more current with the trends; and every time he would insinuate such things I would feel crushed inside because I didn't want that face to change even one little bit. And of course, things always must change and creativity breaks through previous successes and one learns to accept, if not adore or more, the new normal. But that 2007 face is still so very tenderly locked away in my emotions Silly as it may sound.
  8. That explains a lot about what I'm experiencing in some regions and not in others. Thank you Wulfie! Useful info.
