Have you maybe tried switching to another viewer? I know when I had my older computer, the one viewer that kept me at least semi-functioning was Singularity. Maybe download it and give it a try?

Take off your AO and see if that stops it, if so, then there should be something in your AO that will allow you to turn it off.
