He hasn't started his job yet, and i realize you're talking about his communicating elsewhere but you said not on the official site, and I'm not at all sure that this IS the official site. Wouldn't that be lindenlab.com, where the announcement was made? This is Second Life's official site but they have a lot more going on than Second Life. Are the members of Desura or Patterns complaining for the same reason? I did find it odd, and kinda interesting, that on that site, SL is #4 on the list of things LL does, you have to click through to find it, low on the list of priorities, so we are here getting all butthurt, and obviously SL isn't all that high on the list anyway. We are acting like he should be jumping front and center here, when SL doesn't even rate a front page showing on the Lab's website. In other words, it obviously isn't all about us in Second Life. And that is really sad...

I'm personally fed up with LL CEOs communicating everywhere but on the company's official site. It's almost like we, as residents, are second class citizens. I mean I understand that he hasn't gotten his "Linden name" yet but for crying out loud, at least wait until you are officially here. I did welcome him on twitter but also ask him not to forget the forums, since more SL residents read here before they tweet. I just want some acknowledgment that he knows we exist lol. Does that makes sense? It's late and I've had a long day so I don't know if this is even coherent.

I just want to point out that the guy hasn't even started working at LL yet (he said he starts Monday) and seemed to suggest, on Twitter, that he has yet to receive a Second Life name, which I'm pretty sure he'd want to use when posting here. I suggest we all give the guy some time before we jump all over him because he isn't doing things exactly the way we want him to... there's plenty of time to crucify him later. ...Dres I have read his tweets and yes I posted this BEFORE I knew he hadn't received his Linden name, so I will give me credit for responding on twitter and he does indeed sound as if he MIGHT be approachable here, so I will wait and see

I have nothing personal aggainst him and i wish him the best in his new projects but as CEO for LL he hasnt been what i could call a great CEO. Not only he has poor skills for communication with the users but he took a lot of bad or silly decisions and the last one has been the cherry on the pie, the new and current TOS. During the time he has been CEO he did only one thing, taking the money from SL for injecting money to his other projects with LL. And really i dont think that is fair. So really, here, im pleased to see him take finally a good decision, leave. I hope we ll get a competent CEO now. Bold mine...like they say..."hope in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which one fills up faster" I have yet to see one CEO who has done what truly needs to be done for SL. I have given up ANY hope that someone will come along and know what the crap they are doing and actually start communicating with the residents.

What do you think is this rude should this person get a slap on th wrist. You all know who I'm talking about I have no idea who you are talking about but sometimes boards are set up for having 3 or more people on the board in order to win. If there are not 3 or more names on the board, the owners have determined that it should be closed. I don't know why you are complaining, do you go JUST for the prize or to actually enjoy the music and friendship? Don't like it, don't go back. This is not YOUR club, and the owner decides what they will or will not do.
  7. Perrie Juran wrote: Simply stunning, I thought some of you would enjoy this Video. From its description: "Old paintings are often admired, but sometimes the viewer wants more. Sure, you can tell a story through stills and photos that don’t move, but what if you had the ability to make them move even after they’ve been completed hundreds of years ago? Rino Stefano Tagliafierro, a skilled Italian animator and artist, took it upon himself to recreate some of our most favorite works of art in a recent short film called “Beauty.” The visual captures the essence of an old painting with the shine and swiftness of a quality HD film made today" So what this Artist has done has taken old Classical Paintings and animated them. Note: The video contains many nude art images so may not be "safe for work." Watch Classic Paintings Come To Life Thanks Perrie, that was incredible!

  9. I have always landscaped my land, but this time I am stumped (no pun intended) As the subject says, I just can't see the forest for the trees and I need some help. I'm looking for an established landscaper to help me figure this out. Price will be discussed when we meet. Must have at least 3 references from work that you have done, plus the ability to see the finished project. Pictures of your work is also a must. If you are NOT an established landscaper please do not waste my time IM'ing me. Looking forward to finally figuring out a solution. Thanks in advance!

I know I might get a lot of bad mouthing about this...but I am not one to hold my tongue...if its the truth its the truth. If you don't want to put effort into your avie, don't expect people to be into on a realationship level." Golly, it must be so cool to be one of the popular kids like you! *gigglesnort*
  11. Drewski Northman wrote: Well here's a shocker, Mr. Clarence and I are in agreement. Let me break down your arguments here, Mr. Chiwanga: For sake of not getting bogged down in pointless political debate, I'm gonna skip the communism stuff and address the SL stuff. You say that our world is a giant ugly shopping mall, and I beg to differ, sir/madam. Come with me on a boat ride through the rivers of Sansara that deepen into mountain canyons and tell me that's ugly. Or how about we go for a walk through the East River community, where people have banded together to build a beautiful, art-centered community where all are welcome to pursue their dreams and tell me that's just a shopping mall. Or how about we go for a swim through the Blake Deeps, a community built undersea wonderland, that pays tribute to the memory of Fancee Bebe, someone who has contributed quite a bit in her life to the SL community, and then tell me more about televisualized teats. You think building is easy? Ok, I will rezz for you a mesh Cessna plane I have. How about you replicate it for me? It must have the same accurate flight model, detailed exterior and interior, fully functional instrument panel, and functioning switches and levers inside. That will take some mastery at blender and use of efficient scripting. I will be back to check your work in 5 minutes..... And after you're done with that, I'd like you to make me some liquid mesh jeans and shirts, with photorealistic details in the texturing. I'll give you a few more minutes for that too. After all, you want to show the villainous capitalist scum how great and impressive communist creations are, so, show us! Here's the thing, bub. SL isn't perfect, nor is LL, but it IS a place of infinite possibility. All it takes is initiative. You want your communist equality wonderland? Great! Find some like minded individuals, get together, and buy a sim or two, all paying an equal share of tier, and knock our socks off with your creativity. You want nice things in SL to be free? Great! Make some nice stuff, put in the effort to make it the best there is, then set the example by RELEASING IT FOR FREE YOURSELF. Otherwise, you just come off as a whiny, entitled, lazy troll. APPLAUSE!!!!! Wonderful!

Two days of this crap... I just paid out 17 grand in lindens that I paid for and now... the thing I'm suppose to do tomorrow that cost me this money... I'm gonna have to cancel. So yeah.. I'm a little steamed at this point. Don't cancel anything right, everything will probably be fixed by tomorrow. Sometimes things break and they have to be fixed. LL was closed over the holidays and it is probably taking more time then they thought to get things straightened out. (oh lord...did I just defend LL???) This is nothing compared to when I first joined SL. Wednesdays were a nightmare. You were lucky if you got in after 3 days. LOL. Just be patient. Things DO take time.

  18. Stacy Seranade wrote: I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know of any female AOs that don't make your avi move constantly? I know that in many AOs you can adjust how often they change the stand position and such. Even in most of these (that I know of) the avi is still constantly bouncing from foot to foot, moving their hand to their hair, etc, while maintaining the stand. Most of the AOs I've seen, even from the popular makers, make people look they have ADHD or they're tweeking. Are their any AOs where you don't move as much and as often? Vista Animations is also a good place to go. I got my AO from there and my avi barely moves when standing still, I can't remember the name of it but check them out and see which one is right for you. HTH.

I tried hands but the whole idea of my hands being frozen in one pose is annoying. not to mention trying to match skin tones. So for me, these are wonderful. and they REALLY look great! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/ULTRA-MESH-RIGGED-FINGERNAILS/4218266 I have these, also and totally love them! I also agree with you on the hands, the frozen in one pose is terrible and I had a very hard time matching my skin with them.

You probably switched to another mesh outfit right? That outfit also probably has alphas. This is an alpha sorting issue. try a top without mesh? Another option is to replace the hair texture with one that is a JPG or PNG with no alpha in it. I have one that's white with grey tips for free and open source on my MP page you can try. Just make a back up of the hair first. You beat me to it, Madeline. I was just going to ask if she replaced it with another mesh outfit. Also, thank you for the tip about the JPG or PNG with no alpha. NP I learned it because of being a member of severaly tango boobs groups. you'd be surprised the things you learn fromthe most random groups:) I know! That's where I learn most of the things I wouldn't have otherwise known. :-)

I went into Appearance, nothing changed? Does anyone know what's causing this and how it can be rectified? It looks like you are wearing a mesh jacket and mesh hair and sometimes that happens when you have two alpha layers on, try changing your top and see if that works.

There is no support in the least from linden labs support team or fix, just brush it off and sweep it under the carpet and silence the consumer. This software is not compatible with a modern computer, sorry but my old computer finally died so I had to buy a new personal computer and since linden labs is going out of their way to make it incompatible, I feel this is the end of life for this software as it is not compatible with a personal computer time to go else where and find something else to do. good lord, the least you can do is let us know what type of computer you have, what is the graphics card? and I have a brand new HP and I have had absolutely NO trouble getting SL to load or to do things inworld. It would help tremendously IF you would give us the specs of your "modern" computer.
