  1. Hi Mick, go to your dashboard, accounts and transaction history, it should show who sent you the gift there. (don't pay attention to the jerks in the forum)
  2. Join the Firestorm group inworld, they have a great bunch of people that could probably help with your situation.

There may be a problem with your internet connection or the Second Life Grid. You can either check your Internet connection and try again in a few minutes, click Help to view the Second Life Support Portal, or click Teleport to attempt to teleport home." I'm using Windows 8, but the other sepcifications are a bit fuzy to me, so if someone could help me, that'd be awesome! Open up your viewer but DO NOT log in, go to help in the upper left hand corner, click on it, a drop down menu will come up, click on about LL viewer and copy the information you see and then paste it here that will give you the specs of your computer so we can help figure out what the problem is.

Would be nice if they over the whole eyes. I look on the Mp.. but they are Oceane quality. Can any of you recommend some make ups? MOCK is awesome, it's the only eyeshadow/lip color I use.

The Casino had nine games, including Bingo, Blackjack and Poker. You would spend money on any initial chips but your winnings could not be cashed out and could only be used in the casino. There were rewards given for gaining XP in games. These were clothing or furniture. The Midway Carnival had 30 games spanning three connected zones. You would buy tickets to play and you were given rewards (inventory items or clothing) for reaching a certain level in each game. All 30 games had ten levels with a reward for each level. The Carnival also had rewards for reaching combined levels. I live in Louisiana and I'm a bit confused about gaming in Second Life. It seems that if given a choice, gamers would go to play for cash prizes or the ability to cash out. However, what about those that want to play for fun? Is there anyplace in Second Life that you can play these games without the option for cash prizes? And can someone from one of the 10 states go there to play? Another place I enjoyed was the Southern Island Hideaway. It had an excavation mini-game built in. You would use excavation tools to find common, uncommon and rare fossils that you could display in a museum. I've attempted a few hunts in SL but so far I've been unsuccessful in completing any. I think it's mostly due to my inexperience in doing hunts. So far, I am enjoying Virtual Fishing, although from what I've readonline it's impossible to reach the high ranks. Perhaps then SL is not for you. I am in one of the ten states and I don't care if I can play games in SL or not. There is so much more to do and see in SL then just playing games. If i want to play games I log out of SL and play one of the many games I have on my computer. And honestly? Gambling hasn't been allowed in SL for years.

In any case, I have a new viewer and new video drivers. Here's a thorough description of the graphics problems I'm having: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/The-NVIDIA-OpenGL-driver-lost-connection-with-the-display-driver/qaq-p/2842814 I've now manually removed the SL files from the appdata folders, uninstalled SL in the control panel, and re-installed from a fresh download. Same graphics problems. Same maturity rating problems. Also you can try to download an alternate viewer, Singularity and Firestorm are good ones to try. As far as anything else, I'm sorry I can't help you with your Mac as I have an HP and use windows 8, which, btw, I have had no problems running SL. I hope you don't give up because of these problems. Oh, I use a prepaid bluebird card which has the american express debit. Maybe try one of those out. That is probably why you can't check the adult in preferences?
  7. Cornyflowerz wrote: Coby Foden wrote: Monti Messmer wrote: You cannot use your real size simply because the starter Avatars are all giants and no one bothered the first few days. Rubbish. Of course we can use any size of avatars, small, real life size or giant. The size of an avatar does not define is it a child avatar or an adult avatar. Some people just are paranoid about age play and they have chosen that height is one major factor how they determine is an avatar a child or an adult. Most likely they have not read the TOS properly; or if they have, they have not understood what the TOS says about age play. So they want to play "safe" (in their misconceived thinking) and set some arbitrary height limit to determine age. Which is totally silly thing to do. As we can see from these real life photos: There are very tall and very small people above. However, none of them looks like a child, everybody can clearly see that every single one is definitely an adult. So the size of person (alone) does not define person's age in real life. It's the general looks - does it look like child or does it look like an adult. The same naturally applies to Second Life. • If the avatar looks and acts like a child, it is child avatar • If the avatar looks and acts like an adult, it is adult avatar Even though there are lots giant avatars in SL, it does not mean that small avatars automatically should be classified as child avatars. The defining factors are the general looks and behaviour of an avatar, not the size. Tell me in your honest opinion if making my avatar taller, and making the shoulderspan wider has "aged" in in any way. http://i.gyazo.com/94ce2c15d52ac3399bf2946530ac23d1.png http://gyazo.com/bc4da2b55783565f6d7c3eeef82e8ea2 To me, it hasn't really. It seems to be a combination of all things. For one, mainly the anime head appears youthful and boyish. or feminine. Due to this, people are assuming younger or "underage." The fact of the matter is that the M3 anime head is not a child head, and many male anime characters walk around using it everday. It' seems to be onyl when it's used on a shorter MALE avatar that people start saying it looks "childlike." I think it's a matter of the combination of things. The anime head alone, not childish. Kemono body alone, not childish. Short height alone, again not childish... but combine them all together and BAM, you are now childish. I suppose all I can do as a short male IS "play it safe" and not wear my kemono body or anime head. I don't want people to think I look childlike. I'm sorry but you STILL look like a child. It's the thinness of the body combined with the face. If you showed up at my club looking the way you do, I would not hesitate to boot you and ban you from my land and club. IF you want to continue to look this way, my advice would be to stay away from any adult activities. Just my 2 lindens worth.

The ones that haven't seem to eather be exempt or have no intentions in complying with the new gameing rules. Can someone clerify the policy in regards to sploders in clubs? Spolders have not been legal in awhile, but until now LL has largely ignored them.
  9. I tried going to the truth page and typed in the name of the hair, came up with nothing, my guess is it's an older hair and has been discontinued. You might try going to the truth store and see if you can find it or something similar. Hope this helps.

Melodee Check your spam folder to see if they are going there, I know there is a setting in firefox to have all second life mail going directly to your inbox but I cannot remember where the thread is, perhaps someone will come along and direct you to the right thread on that.

So far I've done what I can but I'm wondering if there's a way to add/remove buttons from the botton of the screen and if I can set IM's to make a sound on every IM, not just the first of a new session. If anyone could hepl me out and/or point me at a page with all the information that would be great so I don't pull my hair out. You cannot add buttons or remove them, you can click on a person's profile while you have them in IM and set the sound to on. You cannot have all your contacts make sounds unless they are in IM's with you. Also, find the Singularity group and join, there is a lot of great help there.

In all of the 6 years I have been on SL, I have never had to agree to a TOS BEFORE logging into the forums. And I DID read it. what? You had to read TOS before loggin into forums?? maybe past 6 years you had agreed to it in SL and it wasnt needed. I was replying to Pamela, who said she did not read it, I simply stated that "I" had read it. and you had to agree to the TOS BEFORE you could sign into the forums, I've never had to do that before only before logging into SL.

  14. That's something I'm going to check into and something that LL needs to address as well.

(See Linden Lab Official: Second Life Skill Gaming Policy item 6.1) BUT on the other hand, online gaming IS allowed in at least the state I live in, and isn't that what the new gaming regions are? online? EDITED: to fix a typo

We’ll be keeping an eye on this forum thread regarding Skill Gaming. Well this is lovely! Everyone is so concerned about what games they can and cannot play or have but has anyone looked at the states that prohibit playing games of skill? If you are in one of these states, you CANNOT play the games and I am assuming that you cannot even own them. Take a look at the states, IF you live in any of these states you cannot partake in the games. I would like to ask the community manager if this includes owning the games. Thank you. It wasn't like this before. And now I can't check Advanced Lighting Model, ambient occlusion and depth of field, and I did it before too. I already updated my graphic card. I don't see anything wrong with your hair, honestly, but I do see that perhaps you aren't wearing an alpha layer for the top. *shrugs*
  19. I agree with you Perrie. Reminds me of chicken little and the sky is falling! I'm not doing anything until Ebbe yells "last one out, don't forget to turn out the lights" and then I'll go to this brave new world and begin the enjoyment all over again.
