  1. I am quite happy to not have a swear-fest here. I'm also quite happy not to make it a spelling bee either. What I like (slightly less than a trillion times) about the forums now, is that the kind of petty rubbish that used to exist, doesn't now. It simply won't survive anymore, and I think that in this case, LL really did pay attention and now the majority rules. As has been stated already, there are many forums out there that allow that stuff. This one doesn't. You have choices. Complain when you don't.

I wonder if you have a link to where to get it so those of us that have benefited from the gift of mouse ears can return the favor? :smileywink: Yep. It's from Sweetest goodbye or [sG*], and it can be found as part of the "Yozo" outfit here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sweet%20Isle/166/125/26
  3. Awww Dillon TY . It was taken by my friend Bytor.

  5. Elle Benusconi wrote: Daniel S. Hamermesh, a professor of economics at the University of Texas, Austin and author of a new book "Beauty Pays" wrote in an op-ed piece in yesterdays New York Times that "Ugly People" are subject to discrimination based on their looks. Dr Hamermesh advocates ugly people being covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act due to the disadvantages they face, both financially and socially, and society must be made to be less judgmental about a persons looks. Upon consideration of the article I was left with two conclusions. First, soon we will see the formation of the "Ugly Lobby" And second, lawyers will latch on to this, and a new group of lawyers specializing in "Ugly Discrimination" cases will flood our over burdened court with this sort of case. Ironically, the news was also covering the arrest of reputed actress Daryl Hannah in front of the White House yesterday, whom I've always thought looks like Abe Lincoln with blond hair. Just thought I'd take the opportunity to throw that in before it's against the law. Funny that. I always think Rene Zelwegger looks like she's had her face pushed in from the middle.
  6. I bloody love it when you talk sense Carole. I have never understood this. When I take photos, if there is something I don't like in the background, I move my cam. If these people aren't hurting anyone then look away. It's rude to stare anyway. Ishy, I am surprised by you being the person to post this. I would have thought that you of all people would be able to allow people to be "their imagination" even if they are only 12, or Ca. stoners, and even if they are only doing it for the sh*ts and lulz. At the end of the day, it's your viewer, your cam view. The only thing SL provides that I would wish for in RL is wings. I wanna fly dammit! but other than that then really, life is too short to get upset by a walking turd when most of you laugh at Ren & Stimpey or Family Guy no?
  7. Oh yes! I blummin well ADORE hats me.
  8. Thanks Ima, and Storm. The sigh was a quiet hope that a small argument would fizzle out. It did YAY!
  9. Found it on the MP by blank searching cats and dogs. Here ya go. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/mischief-kitten-americanshorthair/1172074 eta: Beat me to it Wade
  10. Never been part of a clique as such, but I do have a sudden urge to paint myself orange for some strange reason, but I do have a couple of groups where I and only one other person are members. Both of them have been dear friends from the beginning. I guess it's the staying power. The only thing it gives me is a totally brilliant group tag. Aside from that, it's not even thought about and NEVER deleted no matter how much I want the free shoes.
  11. I've tended to stay away from the GD forum and lurk around the others more. I Learned a lot from the texture forum. I recently started glancing in here and I much prefer it now. Nobody seems to read and take it wrong. Nobody jumps to the wrong conclusion without asking, using another question, what was meant by the first. Civilly. Nobody seems to climb on a high horse in rage and then face deciding whether to back down or keep climbimg. I don't miss that side of the old GD. We're not all warriors. I really disliked my own old GD persona, because I felt I had to sneer to survive. I like the real me better. I hope the forums continue to be as fluffy and lemon-fresh as they are for a good long while if that's what invites calm and reasoned people here.
  12. 12 people have walked on the moon. Only 2 have visited the very bottom of the ocean. I'd like to be the third.
  13. In SL you can see the dappled sunlight, but you can't feel it. In RL you can feel the pain and see the scars. In SL you can be in love, but that person can't warm you when you're cold or tickle you when you turn your back. In RL you can't be over 6 foot tall and stunning (usually). Both have their qualities, but I know from experience that too much absorption in SL causes lots of pain, because however you see it, the person next to you sees it differently. Both are fun though
  14. I can't pick between 2. The first was when I was new. I got me a free parachute, went up to the highest height with my chute set to open at 100 metres.....faceplanted into a skybox at 500 mtres and just lay there. I thought I'd killed my avatar and nearly pooped myself. Not fun at the time, but I've had many smiles on it since. The second was just dancing in a club with some friends, when it suddenly became pillow fight night. We all wore pillows in our hands, got in a circle doing the same dances and timed the passout gesture so we were doing synchronised fainting. It was hilarious and the pics looked fab.
  15. Having now read your post properly...yes Claire It's just so achingly heartfelt. It's my favourite SP song, thought Shut Your Eyes, Somewhere a Clock is Ticking, and Chocolate all work for me too
  16. There's only one way to quit RL and I'd rather turn the computer off for a bit. I did get grumpy in SL because I was miserable RL. I quit for four months and got myself an RL. I'm happy in both worlds now, though I don't visit inworld as much as I used to . I think that's a good thing. I go inworld when I'm alone but sociable, or when I get the creative urge....or just when I want to play dress up. My new home, job and B/F take car of the rest (all RL). I recommend RL highly .
  17. Oh, except it's not wazzing it down with rain of course.
  18. The ones on the right look like England. I'm in
  19. Oh Wildcat I adore that song. For sheer breathless beauty it has to be this one for me.
