  2. In Windows XP, right click the Viewer’s icon (in desktop or in the Programs menu) and choose “Properties”. I properties window there is the path to it. (sorry, but my Windows is in Portuguese :smileywink: ) _____________ [edited to add] remember to add the name of the executable file - in my case C:\Arquivos de programas\Phoenix Viewer 2\PhoenixViewer.exe
  3. In Opera, open Preferences (ctrl+F12) Go to tab "Advanced" >> "Programs" Click on "Add" In "protocol" type: secondlife In "Open with other application", type the path to your preferred viewer (In my case, phoenix, it is "C:\Arquivos de programas\Phoenix Viewer 2\PhoenixViewer.exe")
  4. Maybe I am lucky, but I didn't need to fill a ticket or go to live chat for long. The last time I need, was before the cut of 30% of LL employees, so even if I use it today, I have no base for comparison. On AR, after more than an year not using it, I’ve ARed a bunch of big, ugly, floating, turning around advertisement signs put in 3 plots in the sim were I have my store (yes, the guy was capable to break ALL rules on advertisement). In few hours, the sim was cleaned. So, I have no complaint on this service. Maybe I am lucky, but I didn't need to fill a ticket or go to live chat for long. 5. On the last few days, many threads were moved to Off Topic forum. Maybe thats the reason that they are showing in apparently random order (I think that they are displayed by the time of move). On the last few days, many threads were moved to Off Topic forum. 6. Yes, when casinos were all over the second world; when I almost leave SL when found a place dedicated to pedophily, and was proud to had bought my first prim hair after spent hours camping; when Wednesdays were used to frequent the forums, because LL’s engineers were busy introducing brand new bugs. But, that was the only time when LL officially announced something in this line. Soon after they put more and better servers on line and concurrent users reach 30,000 :smileyhappy:
  7. In fact, when I joined SL, in january/2007, I remember an announce that if there were more than 24,000 concurrent users, logins would be denied for basic users, but as far as I know this was never enforced and soon later was officially dropped.
  9. Huge, but it worked to me. Try to do all in the web. 1. First. go to "Billing Information", than click in "Payment Methods", and see if you info is there. 2. Than, go to "Linden Exchange" >> "Increase Credit" and send money to your account (minimum of US$ 25). At this point, if your payment info is not there (in step 1) you will be present to a page asking for it, or, if it is already there, you will receive a page asking you to confirm the transaction. Just follow the directions. 3. Now confirm that the money was sent to your account in "Account Summary", look in "Linden Dollar Summary" >> "US Dollar balance" 4. Go to "LindeX™ Exchange: Buy L$" and put your order
  10. Once your previous Premium account is still valid, I think that if you go back to "Change Membership Plan" and mark your preferred premium plan it will be done. At least, when I changed from montlhy to annual Premium, I did it a few days before my montlhy plan was over and was charged only in the day of the renewal.
  11. I had this problem, not with abandoned land, but with 3 parcels bordering my old place in Mainland. AT first, I opened a ticket, asking for cleaning it.. wait for some time (from 2 weeks to 3 months) to LL clean the plots. All 3 plots are owned by residents that I've never seem online. I think they are old life accounts. My final solution as to put invisible, tiny prims in these plots, until they were full, minus 1 only prim. Than I put a phantom mega prim, covering all plot and the garbagge still there, textured as grass. At least, the garbagge is not visible anymore, and nobody can rezz anything more in these plots.
  12. Em 2007 fiz um tutorial sobre isso. Um viewer antigo, mas no geral ainda é válido: http://vaniachaplin.multiply.com/journal/item/16/Como_abrir_caixas Espero que ajude

  14. What worked to me was first send money to my account (minimum of US$ 25), and than use this money to by L$. It is worth a try.
  15. LL is having many problems with transactions these days. Go to your Account Summary, and see under Linde Dollar Summary if you have this oney in credit. If so, try to buy again in Buy L$, using this money.
  16. Many thanks FJ. I would like to post my own experience on this issue, but I really don't know if it would work for everyone. Since 2007, I've never let Linden Lab to bill directly my credit card. In the first days of each month, I su up all payments for the month (Premium account, tiers, buying L$) and send the money to my Credit. Than when sure that I have credit I start to spent it (or live it there to pay Premium/tiers). The first time I've heard of this issue was on April/1, when a friend RL/SL asked for help, because she was unable to buy L$. As she lives near my home, she came here, and in my computer, she logged in her account. Knowing of her previous problems, we haven't even tried to buy directly, but erased her payment info and, when filling an order to buy L$, automatically, we received a form to enter a payment method. She filled it with her credit card's info and received the L$ in seconds. The next day, many posters were already complaining on this. I've told some times of this experience with Ruth, but it seems to not work to everyone. At least one posters said that tried it, but the system didn't accept the payment method. Two days ago, not needing to, but to try another approach, I sent US$ 50 to my credit. In the next page (LindeX™ Exchange: Choose a Payment Method and Complete Purchase) I changed my card, from Visa to MasterCard. Went back to my account summary, be sure that the money was there, and than went back to LindeX and place an order to buy L$. It worked smoothly. Although I do know that this an issue to many, I was not capable to reproduce the problem. And I am not prone to spent more $$ here just to try :smileyvery-happy:. But here is my advices: First - try to send money in advance and than use this money; Second - erase your payment info, and when prompt to, fill the info again. ____________ [edit to add] I am in Brazil. Just cannot seem how Europeans or Canadians can have more problems than we :smileytongue: BTW, just this month we had our tax for international payments rised almost 3X :smileymad:
  17. Welcome back, Cristiano. You certainly is with the new Viewer 2.0. I am not the best people to give you advices on it, because I rarely use it. But you can try the Phoenix viewer, or other TPV viewer based on V1.XX - it will certainly looks more familiar to you. Once familiar with the newest changes in SL, using an 1.XX viewer, than you can try the V2
  18. There were a RISK API, for use by those that want to sell L$. I cannot find it any more, but I remember that in the page there was a warning that if you buy L$ from a third part that was not using this API, or from a non-approved 3rd part, and the L$ later was found to be from a fraudulent origin, the buyer would be considered co-author of the fraud. But if the seller was using the API, you were safe buying from them. I've never bought or sell L$ in any other place than Lindex, but I used to have this URL in bookmarks because many Brazilians don't have an International credit card and have to buy form others - just to let them know the possible implications. Even if I cannot find this page any more, or there are no more an "RISK API" for third parts, LL clearly continues to share the culprit of fraudulent sellings of L$ among sellers and buyers.
  19. Sure it is ^^ But for one single person we can make the illusion of it. Even Escher's staircase can be make rotation the whole build and TPing the person to the right place. It would be wonderful if we could do this for a group :-)
  20. Unfortunately this kind of thing is a day-to-day fact here in Brazil. There are fake organisations asking for help for orphans/disabled/anyelse. For a while already, I have as rule to help one single organisation - an spititist orphanage (no, I am not an adept of spiritism, I just have confidence in their work). All help that I can give go to them. I am not saying that there are not other equaly meritory organisations, or that others need less help than this one, but that's the way I found to being certain that my little help goes to right hands. My heart is with those in Japan who are in desperate need, but I won't change my way.
  21. To avoid that this topic "Another SL vs RL thread" becomes confuse, with two interest, related, but different discussions, I am opening a new one: "SL vs 'unRealLife' thread"
  22. I was thinking on how to make a tesseract house, or an Escher's place, like figured by Ishtara. It is not so difficult, although complicated, if just one person is in the place. But it is not not possible for 2 or more independent people visiting it. In the case of a tesseract. Here is an unfolded tesseract. The colored faces (red, green and blue) are the same face, or, the green face on cube A is shared with the green face on cube B. But the green face on cube A is a wall, in the point of view of person 1 standing in it. The same green face, for the person 2 standing on cube B, is the roof. If person 1 moves from cube A to B, she will be turned 90 degrees, in the view of person 2. For only one person. When they moves from one cube to another, a combination of teleport and rearrange of the cubes (moving and rotating them) could do the trick. But if there are one more person in the build, the whole thing would brake.
  23. Starting quoting Ishtara's message Ishtara Rothschild wrote: I find SL too real, actually. Not that it feels real (you will never feel the wind in your hair or the sun on your skin), but it's too closely oriented on reality. There should be places and sights that can't be found anywhere in the real world, places where physics and gravity work in completely different ways. For example, imagine yourself walking through an MC Escher painting such as this one: I thought about building something like this back in the day, but walking upside down on a staircase at the ceiling would require you to attach your avatar to the stairs (i.e. sit on them) and wait for an animation to play. As soon as you stood up, you'd just fall down again. The same goes for things like walking through a door that leads to a completely different area, hundreds of meters away (and upside down or sideways). Of course this could all be done with a scripted teleport system, but it just wouldn't feel very realistic. Or unrealistic, as it is Why can't we turn off gravity in our sims and have people float around in a zero-g environment? Or change how gravity works in order to create a true upside down experience? Or mess with the terrain physics and let visitors bounce around like rubber balls? Simulated down-to-earth reality gets really boring after a while.
