  1. She is running a 64 Bit OS a 32 bit program can access upto 4 Gigs of ram if it needs it, not using the HTTP line may work better as it shouldn't be as congested as the HTTP. Since she is running on wireless she will not get the full affects of her bandwidth on 130 Mbps passthrough (= close to about 30 - 40 Mbps tops), I would really suggest that she try and get a wired connection or closer to the router as possible for best connectivity. I can suggest that maybe you could try cleaning out your graphics fan if that is possible (if desktop) a cooling pad( if laptop), your probably sound like that your card is overheating causing graphical glitches. Also it would be good to know when it first started and if you have installed anything before it started.
  2. 1. you cant edit rigged mesh 2. try setting your grapics to viewer default and see what happens. 3. please copy paste info from "help > about secondlife" when trouble shooting. 4. if your cpu and/or graphics card is O.C'ed try turning them to stock settings. 5. check that all your drivers are uptodate. 6. try and reduce the size of your inventory if it big 7. run a wired connection instead of a wireless one (only if applicable) 8. try a different viewr
  3. Since you are using a laptop i am assuming that you are connecting through wireless.... try connecting it to the router/modem directly and see if that resolves your issue.
  4. im assuming since your using a laptop that you are connected through wireless, have you tried connecting it wired and see if that resolves your issue?
  5. if you have a modem and a router try disconnecting from the router and plug directly into the modem, or if you have a wireless modem in your home try resetting it to factory defaults and see if that helps
  6. Can you list all the steps you have tried to do in order to try and fix this problem?
  7. The 460 is now two generations old, it wont give you that much of a performance boost, i suggest you keep sl on its predetermind settings for your card (guessing high) and lower your draw distance and play around with your setting to achieve what ever fps you are trying to get(i've noticed that what ever you get on your predeterminid settings is what you'll get no matter which setting you use below it.... atleast for me with my AMD card) .... I also doubt that the control panel would help in any way with opengl based graphics... and you musnt forget that SL is more intensive then other games since textures are pretty high.... P.S. Peggy. the ping will more likely be cause by the fact that she took the pic straight after switching to ultra there for throttling her ping while it loads the textures.
  8. heres a link to the previous viewer http://download.cloud.secondlife.com/Viewer-3/Second_Life_3-3-1-254524_Setup.exe make sure you uninstall the one you have in now before re installing this one
  9. its a known bug for the viewer... downgrade or you'll have to keep turning off basic shaders to rebake
  10. if you have an amd card i suggest you downgrade, its a known issue as stated in the release notes.... best to use previous version or you'll be stuck having to rebake with basic shaders turned off
  11. they removed that option from the official viewer a few versions ago to remove grieving possibilities.... the only way to do it now is to do it through a group
  12. Guessing those are just general things since I got that too and I wasn't even on any of the rc sims, probably the maintenance on the invent servers are causing delays I would say
  13. They look like equals signs, I would guess it means they are on the same level as you...
  14. Nope none of them were flexi prims, it was normal and sculpted prims that this problem happened on, we have gone back to our old viewers for a "work around" don't think I'll be using any of the 3.2 versions at all now.
  15. try disabling opengl vbo in prefs and see if that does any thing for you.
  16. Using the latest release viewer my wife and I have noticed that when editing prims or even just clicking on different prims when building, that our FPS slowly drops while sim ping climbs to higher amount. editing any amount of prims (e.g. say 50) sim ping climbs to above 3k msec and fps drops to below 10. Has any one that is using the latest viewer experienced any of these?
  17. If possible can you start up the viewer and change your graphics setting before logging into sl, if it indeed does crash when you go to log in then it will more then likely be a graphic issue, check your card is in need of an update from the respected vendors. P.S. Post your hardware details when it comes down to issues like these.
  18. Your 550ti is more then enough to run SL, for nvidia it is current generation version that they make, you shouldn't need to buy a new graphics card.
  19. Can you please add what your current graphics card is?
  20. try using version 3.1, for me any of the 3.2 version have rendering problems and i can never get above 7 fps after the first log in http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.1.0 test that and see if it improves your fps (make sure you do a clean install)
  21. I would suggest the CPU (processor) be atleast a quad core and that graphics card be higher on the scales (460 - 590 for nvidia skipping anything below the *50 range as they are low end cards.) if you want AMD cards I suggest anything above the 6570. As for the amount of ram 4GBs should be enough with of course the 64 operating system.
  22. Those systems are low end and you will not get the experience you think they will give you, I suggest you see how far getting a custom system will get you for the price you were thinking of paying for a brand name PC. USA http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/CyberPower_X58_Configurator/ UK http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Cyberpower_X58_Configurator/ You could use this system to build your own PC upto your own budget... Just make sure you Google anything that you don't know.
  23. If you want your fps back I would suggest you go back to the 3.1 viewer as the viewer 3.2 have some bad rendering problems which are fps killers, I don't believe it matters what your hardware specs are.. Those viewers just do not work in my opinion.
  24. from what i know about the nvidia graphics is that anything above the *50 range is the high end stuff, example 460, 550>590 i do believe their cards under that are considered low spec and should give you possibly mid range graphics settings
  25. sounds like the owners turned off the scripts sim wide and only group owned items may be useable, you can check if they did by going to world > place profile > region/estate then should be in the debug tab of that window...
