  1. I quit a parcel on Zindra one time (sold it to a flipper) because someone with a 512 on the sim ran some sort of noob help center. They occasionally maxed out access, so that even I couldn't get onto the sim. I should have investigated more before I bought, but the land was such a good deal.
  2. Nope, none of those on my sim. All in all I'd say it's a very pleasant, low lag sim. Drop by sometime, there's even a popular furry club around the corner, no alts or bots, just live furries. Oh, I'm having a Mardi Gras party next Saturday, perhaps you'd like to come.
  3. I've been on my parcel on Zindra for months now and have been on the lookout for cheap land on the same sim. One owner briefly listed his land the other week for $4.7 L per sq m but delisted it, so I immed him and offered him 5, which he immediately accepted. Just this week a 4096 which had been listed for $25,000 L (just over $6 L per sq m) was relisted for $2.7 L per sq m so I jumped on that too. The seller was that land barron that seems to have a lock on most of the land for sale on Zindra. I guess he decided to try and sell some of the non moving parcels. Now i just need to wait for my neighbors on my street to sell and I'm all set, even though I now have more prims than I'll ever need. Skybox rentals maybe?
  4. Well don't worry, its not gonna happen, that would be a lot of extra info to collect and store. I'm impressed that the map shows avatars at all since its a constant real time update.
  5. I forgot about restarts, but I had hoped people would see I was being facetious. As for discovering if a place is populated by bots/alts, I do that all the time, tp in, check radar, cam in, see 20 bots/alts on a platform, and leave, probably never to return. When I use the inworld search (I never use the web based search) I look for places that have reasonable traffic (10 to 20 thou?) but show as currently empty on the map. I'll tp in, look around, if I like it, I'll join the group or at least take a lm, because high traffic and currently empty means to me that it has events that are well attended.
  6. How about if avatars are color coded on the map according to how long its been since they changed location. green for active, moved in the last hour yellow not moved in two hours orange not moved in three hours red not moved in a day brown not moved in a week black not moved in a month
  7. The friendships. Having said that, why would I search out cheesy mountain views in SL when I'm only an hours drive from the Blue Ridge. Even the most amazing Sansar experience (no i refuse to visit) could in no way compare..... blistered feet, sunburn, biting insects, danger of falling and dying, there is so much missing from any virtual experience. It's a cheap cheesy copy of reality, nothing more.
  8. When they bring in death panels, I want the full 20 minutes when its my time to go.
  9. You are the one making assumptions not me. I was speaking only for myself.
  10. Fantasies played out in SL are much safer than in RL and if you really immerse yourself in the experience, it can be quite intense, and seem quite real. As for a walk in the wood in RL vs SL , or enjoying a mountain vista, I'll take RL every time. What I can do in RL, I do in RL, what I can't do in RL, I do in SL.
  11. actually i thought they liked comparing sansar to RL... those long vistas, distant waterfalls, feeling totally overwhelmed by the scenery.... naw still no comparison... I'll just hop in my car and experience it in RL. Just imagine in a few years though... hey kids we aren't gonna go on a trip out west, i got us some vr headsets, we'll just do a virtual tour instead.... ummmm.... no
  12. ***deleted*** so I'll just say..... Have a nice day
  13. And that brings up my biggest beef about mainland. On my sim, there's my "club" which has never had more than 10 people there at once, there's a popular furry club which often hosts events which draw maybe up to 20 guests, usually closer to a dozen and the rest are private homes, or low use fetish clubs. However there are parcels for sale, one being a 4096. I always worry that someone could buy it, build an afk s e x club, then fill it with 30 afk avatars, effectively destroying the use of the sim for me and for the furry club. Is it fair? No, not really. Is it allowed? No, not really. But to AR the club and get satisfaction would require a certain amount of concerted effort on my part and on the part of other parcel ownrs affected
  14. Yes but, you effectively blocked anyone new from buying land on the sim, since no one would buy land on a sim that has 36 bots parked on it. With your system, you basically reserved the whole sim for your own personal use. So, yes, I object to that. Want the resources of a full sim? Then go buy a full sim.
  15. If you didn't own the whole sim, it seems then that you were the mainlands worst nightmare, making it so that only 3 or 4 people could get on the sim at any one time. I would hope that you were reported many times for hogging sim access. Of course it wouldn't have affected me, since if i was looking to buy land, seeing all your bots parked at your place, I'd have kept on looking.
  16. Either way they are fooling themselves using unregistered bots or alts to boost traffic numbers. Inworld search sorts by traffic, a place with inflated numbers is easily determined once you tp in either from a search , or looking at clusters of dots on the map. I'm more annoyed when a club hogs mainland access by putting 20 alts on their parcel, thus limiting sim access to real people. That is a far bigger issue to me than gaming traffic counts.
  17. Thank you, that's my point, why do people go on and on about whether an alt parked in a skybox is a bot or not, both affect traffic counts in the same way, both are either allowed, or not, which ever the rules say. Of course this thread isn't about search results, it's about dots on maps. So, since my club isn't listed in search, I could put 10 alts at my place, and people might be drawn to the cluster of dots on the map, looking for some place active
  18. Almost every knot of avatars on the map is a bunch of alts. I go to clubs all the time, cam up, and go, oh alts, byeeeee. I really think there's maybe 10,000 "real" people logged in at one time, 80% of that 50,000 people concurrency are probably traffic gaming alts
  19. Oh, so it I wanted to inflate numbers at my club, there's no reason to have bots,? I'd just log in 10 alts on 10 copies of a chat client? That's how it works?
  20. Then I guess I'll post my brilliant plan to combat man made global warming someplace else.
  21. Yes but isn't a bot still an avatar? Doesn't it use up just as many resources as an alt logged in? 10 alts sitting on a platform at a club 24/7 to inflate traffic numbers are NOT being used as LL intended
  22. So what's the difference between bots and alts logged in on a text client to boost traffic numbers?
  23. and of course after google or facebook ban all adult content, whats left of SL will quickly wither and die
