  1. You're right Wulfie, I am making assumptions. After listening to the discussion group, I'd say that goes both ways (LL making assumptions as well). I've been a merchant since 2008 and lived through the multitude of MP changes, migrations, etc and have yet to see or participate in any formal "marketing survey" that would quantitatively provide direction. It appears that change is driven by qualitative input from a limited pool of stakeholders. For the most part, the changes that are implemented are pretty global and obvious - like improving search. There have been some great additions like expanding categories, separating demos and limited quantities, creating favorites lists, etc. Perhaps attending a meeting would be helpful, I'm just not sure. I'm very disappointed with the most recent events which I know are well intended but are resulting in "unintended" collateral damage.
  2. I just watched/listened to the youtube video of the Web meeting. It was pretty clear that your comment "maybe the people testing things don't have enough specifications for what kind of results should be expected" is spot on. In fact, I'd go further to say that the coding is being done without understanding what merchants and shoppers really need or how they go about using the MP. The meeting was more of an ad hoc focus group with a handful of residents trying to respond to developer inquiries. If LL wants to make good improvements which we would all embrace, then they need good and complete info - not from a small discussion group or even monthly discussion groups. A true marketing survey that teases out how and why the MP is used with responses from many residents and merchants would go a long way in informing how changes are coded and implemented. It just feels very loosey goosey right now and the result is not helping anyone.
  3. It's great that TLinden reached out to you with a work around. Problem is, if there is a new way of listing/searching etc, then everyone - shoppers and merchants need to be specifically taught how to do it. And that's a long road to nowhere, imo. Changing learned behavior (the way we currently do things) is a very, very difficult task. Changes need to be intuitive, reflexive, not dependent on learning a new way of using characters or ways of stringing phrases.
  4. Just tried mine for you and it is loading without an error message at this time. Doesn't mean it isn't affecting others like you, just in my tiny corner of the world it appears to be working for now.
  5. Here's a thought LL: Next time you want to roll out new code to the MP, make a blog post before it is done so that Merchants have a head's up and can be informed and watching for issues, and work with you to implement the best solution possible. Informing us after the fact leads to incredible frustration, not to mention, these changes play with Merchant's real life livelihoods (in some cases). Changes would be embraced if we are part of the process not just the recipients (victims for dramatic impact). Yes, I know these kinds of things are discussed in Web group meetings, but most Merchants cannot attend those and to the best of my knowledge there are no Official Minutes posted here in the forums (correct me if I'm wrong. I know there are excellent bloggers who follow the progress, but these are not top of mind for the majority of stakeholders). The current pattern of implementing change needs to change - in the best interests, and sanity, of all - residents, Merchants, Lindens.
  6. Yes, I saw the blog. I had reported errors earlier today and then they implemented their "fixes" and things broke.
  7. Relevance is broken. And it is bouncing around - when I close the page and then return minutes later, there is an entirely new order. Best Selling and Relevance which "were" similar are now completely different. Both incorrect, and different from one another. Anything that was bookmarked in a particular sort order, now goes to Relevance. For instance, I have a list of specific searches that are bookmarked to "New", now they all open to Relevance instead and must all be reset. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg and the things that I watch the most...
  8. It is messed up...again. I should be more specific - Relevance is broken.
  9. Yes it is totally messed up again. There was a problem with Relevance being frozen that was reported today. When they fixed that, they re-implemented some kind of messed up code similar to what was killing the MP in early Feb. Now the MP is messed up again.
  10. So far today, all's good in my little corner of the grid. If it starts to go wonky, I'll come back here to let you know.
  11. Just got word from Dakota Linden that the issue has been resolved. Went over to my store and it is indeed back to normal, thank goodness! I used search for some simple inquiries and it appears to be working normally as well. I didn't check extensively, so others may have news/their experiences to report.
  12. All I can say is roll this back. When new code is rolled out to the grid and encounters issues, it is rolled back right away. This new marketplace code is more than seriously flawed, it is a detriment to every resident who shops or sells on the Marketplace. I've been in business since 2008 and yesterday was the single worst day since I started. I can't imagine that I'm alone.
  13. Excellent! Thank you for posting that link. Voted/watching it. I had just responded to my support ticket (to Dakota Linden) with the same sentiment/message. I hope the Lab will acknowledge that this change is going to kill sales (if it hasn't started already).
  14. It started maybe 2 hours ago - I filed a ticket. No response yet and nothing on the grid status yet.
  15. Yup, it started maybe an hour and half ago - I filed a ticket. No response yet and nothing on the grid status yet.
  16. Thank you for the head's up. Got in just fine on my main. But my alt is just a floating poof of red smoke.
  17. I don't see anything on the status regarding the grid issues other than the failed RC roll and rollback involving scripts. I just filed a support ticket regarding log in failure and failure to rez properly. Edited to add: Spoke too soon. Status now reflects the reported issues. Login & Website Outage Subscribe Investigating - We are investigating reports of occasional errors upon logging into the viewer as well as reports of slowness or time outs on web pages such as the Marketplace and my.secondlife.com. Our engineers are actively trying to alleviate the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  18. Just happened here too. Couldn't remove attachments, so logged off and back on, got "failed to create valid session". Tried again, got in, but nothing was loading. Did a character test and attachments went on, but couldn't get my skin on, so body totally grey. Tried 3 viewers: SL viewer, Firestorm and CoolVL. Same results on them all. Now I'm not able to log in at all.
  19. Status shows this: https://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Investigating - Some Second Life services are currently experiencing an outage. During this time, some Second Life services may be unavailable including, but not limited to: logging into the viewer or Marketplace, purchasing L$, and making USD transactions. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Please monitor this blog for additional updates. Oct 11, 2022 - 07:58 PDT
  20. Same here. Was working and couldn't change clothing layers, so tried a relog and couldn't get back in. Time to take a break!
  21. Yes it is. I submitted a support ticket this morning. They requested a screenshot to better understand the issue. I haven't heard from them since.
