how do i set a fellow group member to be able to set up sl events?
Peewee Musytari replied to MERLINSCLAN Mint's question in Everything Else
LMAO @ logs to the @#$@$@$ LL v2 ........Couldn`t have said it better myself -
We do know (sort of) how different Ghostings happen, but there are so many variations of avatars, computers, events etc that it is almost impossible to find a single fix that works for every case. Some (like yours) seem to be connected to the same bug that makes some people appear as a permanent cloud & those will fix with replacing what you are wearing. Others went crashing through a sim wall with a heavily scripted attachment & just removing that attachment can fix them. Some can find their Ghost standing around inworld waiting to be killed and others never know where they are lurking. Until today it has always been true that restarting the sim fixes the problem, but now 2 people have said that hasn`t worked for them, so I guess we have yet another anomily in the Ghost problem...We can`t win lol

Go to the login screen and set your start location to "Smith". Then keep trying to login, ignoring the error message each time it comes up. Your Ghost will refresh approx once every 15 mins & you need to hit that gap to get in. Once you are in, TP to the last couple of locations that you were at before your last logout/crash & you should be able re-merge with your Ghost.

how do i set a fellow group member to be able to set up sl events?
Peewee Musytari replied to MERLINSCLAN Mint's question in Everything Else
If it is Group owned land, there is am ability/power in the Group settings called something like "allow to host events" but it only shows on Viewer 2 apparantly. So you will need to login on that viewer to be able to give anyone that power. -

You get it after 45 days -
Your avatar has not downloaded. First try rebaking a few times (ctrl alt R) this may work or may turn you into "Ruth" . Next, go to your debug settings menu (ctrl alt shift S) and paste in: RenderUnloadedAvatar , set to TRUE If neither of these get you back to normal, there are a couple more things you can try: Method 1 Create a folder, name it something easy to find so you can always keep it in your inventory for future use, like Normal Me or whatever. Put a copy of your usual basic components in there...Skin, shape, eyes, hair, huds etc and a basic shirt and pair of pants. Right click on the folder and select REPLACE Method 2 Reset your avvie to default Advanced Menu >>Character>>Character Tests >> Test Male (or Female) or Developers Menu (ctrl alt Q)>>Avatar>>Character Tests>>Test Male (or Female) Depending which viewer you are on. After whichever method works, you will need to put yourself back together with your usual parts, although after method 2 this will take more time than with method 1. Try to avoid reattaching any heavily scripted items that may have caused the original problem.

Okay this is probably a stupid question but...
Peewee Musytari replied to Glitterophelia Khaos's question in Land
Hiya, To abandon your Linden home, go there, take back all your stuff to your inventory, go to About Land & click the Abandon button. As for staying Premium, yes you are correct there is almost no support for basic members, though having said that I guess you could always go Premium again for a month if you really needed help with something. Its really a matter only you can decide based on your own personal financial situation. I would say that if you intend to Age Verify your account, I would do that before downgrading as there is no Manual verification for basic members if the automated one fails. -
Prims don`t really cause lag, well not exactly, textures and scripts mainly the cause. Not all scripts are evil, some are just performing harmless efficient little tasks and hardly affect sim resources, so it is more the types of scripts than the number of them that is the problem. I know that sounds quite vague but its quite a complicated topic and subject to endless debate in SL. You can switch on your ARC (Avatar Rendering Cost) which will give a number over your head that can be a clue to how laggy your avatar is, on my viewer (Phoenix) it is located in Advanced Menu > Rendering > Info Displays. Ideally you want your avatar below 400 but with prim hair etc it is very hard sometimes to be that good, a big red 7000 is bad lol As for objects, I have a pair of boots in 4 parts with the following script counts: Scripts Counted: 154 Scripts Counted: 184 Scripts Counted: 78 Scripts Counted: 59 Its safe to say they are not very lag friendly boots lol

isis Grashnar wrote: Can someone explain how i check the scripts and prims on an item? also can you check these things before you purchase? Maybe this one should have been first but, can someone explain what scripts and prims are exactly? I kind of know but want to be sure. A Prim (Primitive) is an SL building block - They can be made into all different shapes & sizes and linked together to make objects. Everything in SL is made of prims. A Script is a coded message placed inside a prim to make the prim (or an avatar that touches or sits on the prim) perform some sort of action. Counting scripts/prims in objects is only possible if you can actually click on the object, so for example if something was in a vendor or sale sign you couldn`t actually click on the object. Assuming that you can click on the object, you can count the prims by right-clicking and going to EDIT, in the edit box above the line of tabs (on the right) you will see: Selected Objects: 1 Primitives: 84 To count the scripts, close the edit box, right-click the object again, select MORE, MORE, S.COUNT - You will then see a message in chat like: Scripts Counted: 6

Woots!!!...Remind me never to get into RP LOL
-
I like your guess Nica cos I just found an RP site talking about ways to force the channel switch for RPs to chat in character without having to keep typing the /2 ...I guess they found a way with a gesture trigger to replace chat text with the /2 Inspired guess if you nailed it Why doesn`t that instruction notecard tell people how to fix themselves after?
-
OK I have no idea if this will work as I can`t get as broken as you to test it lol Try /<0>
-
Is it just your /me that is broken or is all your chat invisible?....Have you muted yourself?
-
I typed /2/me smiles and it broke her, /0/me smiles half fixed her and just // and then /me smiles works like normal now. What viewer are you on? I`m using Phoenix
-
OK broke her and fixed her again ...Type //
-
LOL I am scared to test that in case you break me too ...I like my /me Hang on I`ll login my alt and break her, no one ever speaks to her anyway hehe

Its not a Netgear router by any chance is it? For some reason some Netgear routers can`t stay connected to SL at all & it seems neither LL nor Netgear can offer any solution to it. The fact that you can sometimes stay connected for hours is different, but even if its not Netgear I would suggest that it is still some sort of Router issue as that is what both your computers have in common.
-
I`m not sure how that broke your /me if you type /2 all that would do is make whatever you say transmit on channel 2 instead of channel 0 (channel 0 is world chat) so typing something on channel 2 would not show up in world chat and would only be heard by anything listening on channel 2. Hope that made sense lol

You can check on the Marketplace to see if the creator has the same things for sale there & occasionally previous customers will have posted reviews. There is no 100% accurate way to determine the reputation of a buisness. I could say the amount of time that the creator has been in SL or if they have a huge shop on their own sim with tons of different items would be a clue, but in reality that doesn`t guarantee anything & you could just as easily get a new resident with excellent products in a tiny little shop in a mall.

how does one remove an avatar from the log in list?
Peewee Musytari replied to Fluke Airy's question in Technical
Fluke Airy wrote: I tryed to find the answer but the searchs here are just to general, so i was wondering, I'm using Phoenix and where you login you have a list of your avatars, but I have closed out some of those accounts, but I'm not able to figure out how to remove the name fron the login list, so that i only have active account listed. Anyone out there know how? Hi Fluke, I am on Windows 7 so the location path may be different for you, but you need to find a file called: saved_logins_phoenix.xml For me it is in: (C:) >> Users >> {username} >> AppData >> Roaming >> Secondlife >>user_settings In the user_settings folder is the file called: saved_logins_phoenix.xml Right-click and choose EDIT Remove the ones you don`t want saved. NOTE: You may need to go to: Windows >> Tools >> Folder Options >> View Tab & enable the item called: "Show hidden Files, Folders or Drives" in order to see your AppData folder -
If they are the "Hints", go to the Help menu and there is setting there called "Enable Hints".

Great news, glad you are you again I keep a folder like that somewhere that I can always easily find it, avatar repair kit lol
