actually, 1 million lindens is about $4000 AUS ($4,200 US) but it takes a hell of a lot to make a million in SL. i personally would think it shamefull to ask people in sl for a handout, especially if you one of those people that say "sl is sl and rl is rl, i dont mix the two" as this would make you a hippocrite. you would be better off spending the time you usually spend in sl, and use that extra time to look for RL work. and maybe even study part time.

so you have no access to paypal, credit cards, or billpay (direct from your account)? and i think you will need to upgrade to a premium account to do those things like buy and sell.

Amanda, i too have this problem as i pay with a visa/debit card and dont like to have money in it unless i need to so if it is compromised i wont lose anything, trouble is the bill day seems to change so i am never sure exactly which day of the month to put money on the card, last time my account wasy locked and it took a few days to get the information in as well. the way i understand it is they give you 7 days after the bill day to pay then lock your account. i didnt get a message to say it didnt get paid so assumed it went through then lock out. i had to do the same as you and submit a ticket, seems they are haveing a bit of trouble with billing so dont feel like you the only one, i am quite sure it happens often. persevere, someone will fix it eventually. since they reduced staff things get fixed a LOT slower now days.

tell them to log on, and do "i forgot my password" which will start the password reset process. after all you friend is still the owner of the account. unless you friend used their own c/c to pay the tiers. if it your friend c/card, then your friend should also change passwords and numbers for everything

i really dont see how it can be a viewer issue, and no one else has permissions to change it that i know of. but i better check just incase i accidently did when creating a role. an i cant remember what a JIRA is (i dont speak abrev.)

recently when i log in i have been noticing my land keeps changing FROM public access which hampers new visitors and makes it hard to run a business. this has never happened before, so is there something i can do to fix it?

when i type a new letter in a NC, the letters in front delete?..help its making it very hard (impossible) to change notecards and scripts. is it a keyboard setting?

support and abuse reports have been taking up to (and more) 4 or 5 weeks to get replys. ever since that sacked a lot of workers. i remember when an answer and action used to take only a couple of days, especially if it was done near my own private (leased/tiers) land. perhaps lindens are trying to slowly distroy all the good work they have done so far in the name of the profit monster?

when i was buying land, mainland got up to 24/sq meter, as it seemed to have better prim counts then islands at the time. and having an ugly building next door counts for nothing because you can "derender it" and you veiwer will never see it again, it is as if it was never there. so really, ugly neighbors is merely an excuse fro buying land cheaply, and if everyone follows it, it will devalue everybody elses land as well.....(mine?) so, do not be jossled by buyers who say "that ugly house devalues it" as this is only true in RL.........it's pixels for goodness sake , and anything you dont like you derender it......simple. its what i do.

that's strange, because i use phoenix viewer and all i get is " this viewer is not configured to do this" or " you cannot buy Linden dollars with this viewer" i could before and it is bloody annoying as the other way to do it is time consuming (relatively)

thanks to the big three who answered this. i did the png and and worked nicely and very easy. alpha channels? for goodness sake, i dont spend my life behind a computer and dont even know what that is. i never saved p[ng before because i never got the far down my list before getting frustrated. i saw one tut that told me i could save in bitmap and that bitmap had the option of making white backgrounds transparent, but i couldnt make that work either, but PNG is sure the way to got......once again, a big thanks for this has been bugging me for weeks

what am i doing wrong? i have tried to make a texture with a transparent background, but everything i try doesnt seem to work. including saving as bmp,tga,tiff. all come out with a white background. i am using photoshop btw, and i start off with a transparent b/g, but when i upload it, the background is white. is it sl? is the a particular file that sl accepts for transparent b/g's? lil help?
