  1. 2 people are required to establish a truth. 3 or more are required to establish a fact. There is a scientific method, other people have put thought into these things. 33 past Civilizations spanning several thousand years. We're not alone. What was the question again? I think it was, are you being civil? You're obliged to do so here but non-compliance is only a violation. Sharing liberty has its challenges.
  2. I find some aspects of this discussion disturbing. Understanding of the law is presumed and any intelligent person will recognize that the law is a presumptuous fickle instrument. The law is a political tool in the form of wheel used to quicken a race. Justice is blind and she's in a hurry, going where she knows not. In her haste, many a men have become entangled in her turning wheels. Corporations are not people. People have a right to create legal fictions. A corporation is an example of a fictitious entity. A presence is an image or a light. In Light of recent events, LL may wish to protect their corporate Image. Any citing of the recent Supreme Court ruling will be rejected. The Court is a party to the action, the Judges work for the State. If a person wants to recognize Wally Mart as a person, I suggest they meet with Wally in person, before they decide. The frameworkers' of our reality, our founding fathers, dazzled with brilliance. There is a key that opens the doors of domination. The power is within each of us, we were endowed with it by our creator. Inalienable Rights Definition of INALIENABLE in·al·ien·a·ble [ in áylee ənəb'l ] : incapable of being alienated, surrendered, or transferred. Impossible to take away: not able to be transferred or taken away, e.g. because of being protected by law 2. That cannot be transferred to another or others: inalienable rights Inalienable right Part of Speech: n Definition: a right according to natural law, a right that cannot be taken away, denied, or transferred In morality, the term inalienable rights (sometimes unalienable rights) refers to the concept of rights that are completely inseparable from those to whom they belong.. Participating in Second Life is a voluntary action and choice. Operating a Lawful business is a choice.
  3. I only looked at the link for a moment, the advertisements were distracting me. It's difficult to care about people, when I could be saving a lot of money with Geico. Some of the Nations responsible for enslaving South Africa, are now waving a flag and pretending that they were with Nelson all along. It is not right for Nations to take credit that is not their own. We're almost all out of heroes. I never thought that he was going to start getting younger and begin to perform acrobatic handsprings in the front yard. A truth is that another hope is dead and we're running out of quality human beings. Can anybody think of a candidate who could replace Nelson? Al Sharpton, Lady gag gag, how about Al Gore? Right... I would love to make roses out of a lose of life, but I don't feel all rosy about it. Plenty is left to be done, his death is discussed as if it is a closed legacy. We're all free, job well done! ...bologna. .
  4. You will need to download and install a SL Viewer on the new pc. The system will ask for your Resident name and password at the login screen.

  8. That is a bummer :smileysad: If you have completed the steps suggested by Support and your issue remains unresolved, you could either re-open the original ticket, or file a new ticket with Support. I would simply state that problem is not resolved. The suggested contact is non-response and request for the Ticket to be escalated. Ask for Support to confirm that the email address provided for contacting the Editor is valid and if the email you are using can send mail to that address. Wait for a response from Support, and hope for some positive direction in finding resolution. If the issue isn't corrected by Thursday at 4pm slt, make a note in the Ticket of the current status of the issue.
  9. Did you re-open the old Ticket, or did you File a new Ticket? What is the current status of the open Ticket? You may need to check that Ticket every 3 business days. If you are not getting results, post a note in the Ticket stating that the matter is unresolved. Anything longer than 5 business days, consider submitting a new ticket.
  10. The Lab does not accepts phone calls from Residents for SL issues. You could send a letter to the Lab, but there is no guarantee that the Lab will respond. I recommend using the channels SL has provided, to communicate with LL. The first step is to create and submit a new destination. Then File a Ticket with Support and wait for a response from Support. Follow any recommendations from Support and then follow up with Support if your issue remains unresolved.
  11. Thursday, December 19th at 3pm slt works for me. Linden Memorial Park is usually empty. We could meet in one of the greenspaces, the central waterfall area can be laggy at times. I'm open on the location. If we can find common ground on a few of the essentials, we may be able to put something together.
  12. I'm having the same issue. My FPS is about 95, the highest was 130 FPS. It makes the secondary fans run. I was not aware of a debug setting, I will try to set a maxFPS, see if it works. I had first thought is was a runaway CPU problem. It appears that the program will try to run as fast as it can.
  13. I would enjoy a meeting and I should be able to attend, my schedule is flexible. Some food for thought prior to meeting: You cannot change SL, you can only influence it. The project cannot be a democracy. It is a business first and a hobby second. You don't need a team to produce something small. I don't mind sharing some ideas here because I have an idea of how much work it really is. You can find talented people, but it can be difficult to keep them busy with work. I have some ideas of how to keep them busy, but then I need 5 more people, and they need to each find 5 merchants, and it grows. A News segment SL style, would be a lot of fun. A problem that has always existed in SL, is that there isn't a Linden TV that you can just turn on, and start flipping through channels of SL video broadcasts. If you have hundreds of dollars each month, I'll stop typing, and wait for the meeting. If you're starting with less than that, there are some obstacles which only 5 of 100 people manage to hurdle on their own.
  14. A group is not a product. You received a notice and you noticed it. You're not obliged to respond or perform. If they want to file a DMCA, that would be a different story. If you want to challenge the DMCA, that is your right. If a name or logo is a big selling point, it should be protected. A person can apply for a trademark at anytime. Document your proof of concept. Telsa didn't care that people stole his ideas because he had so many. He could invent 10 ideas, in the time they spent copying just 1 of his. He wasn't leading, he was towing, dragging all the people clinging to him.

It is very sad that Linden Lab allows such misuse of the map. :smileyfrustrated: Maybe they should make a second layer for the map for all those advertizers who want to show on the map that "WE ARE HERE". And naturally put a monthly fee for the advertizers. $$$ There are too many. Something should be done. I thought it was some kind of official SL fund raiser supporting some non-profit cause. I was hoping that they would eventually go away. Part of the title of this thread is together at last. It is quite funny, when taken to heart. The map should be a visual representation of the lands and the objects on the surface. Policy should continue to be decided on a case by case basis to allow for freedom of artistic expression. imho.
  16. You can also remove (hide) the ground surface patch I think the function is Advanced > Rendering > Type > Surface Patch
  17. The Premium sandboxes are so fine. If a creator is a night owl, they might have an entire empty Region to work in. It is just beautiful. That alone, is worth every penny. A stipend of 15,600L$ at the yearly rate, is a good return. The ability to conduct most transactions without restrictions make SL a little easier. A Linden Home is a nice option. A really nice plot on the mainland, is worth going premium for. Support is like secondlife insurance to me, I only use it if I am completely dead. The Gifts could be better if Residents could nominate items they purchase at MP.
  18. I hope things will improve for you. You should file another Ticket with Support and include the steps you have taken in an attempt to resolve the issue. Clarify that the suggested contact is non-responsive. I would guess that a request like this might take no longer than 3-5 days to resolve, if it is truly a matter of a simple edit. Follow up with Support weekly, until the issue is resolved. Bump this thread during Lab hours, to enhance exposure. What I always wonder, is if a hypothetical Bob the editor, is literally sitting 10 feet away from Support. They could just walk over to him and say, "Bob, can you fix this". I hope it's not like that. If I do the work myself, you're not helping me. ps, don't say anything like this in a Ticket. lol
  19. I have also thought of a SL video production set. There are many connecting possibilities for a group of Residents who can work together. I can comfortably accept pro's. I think that focusing on the Con's, may offer a more productive examination of the prospect. Funding Hiring Residents to work as production personnel. Recruiting and training actors. Managing the set. Consent forms and other agreements Hiring several digital editors. Residents who can film screenshots. Securing products from top sellers for studio use. Having something to show, during the times you are making a show. Broadcasting in SL Being supported by 3rd party viewers There is a great deal of internal potential. All productions could be added to you tube, and if anything is of exceptional quality, it will rise publicly by it's own merits.
  20. same answer http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Base-de-connaissances/Comment-contacter-le-Service-consommateur/ta-p/786633 To start the process: Open a support case. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue. Choose Reactivate an old account. Enter the required information Click Submit.
  21. A first step is to identify the type of video card in your computer, and to make sure it meets the minimum requirements. The old PC may have had a Dedicated graphics card, and the new one might be Integrated into the motherboard. Integrated cards do not perform as well as Dedicated card. You might be able to add a card, or upgrade the one you have. I link with info about graphics cards. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073 Use Options to add / edit information in your post. If you can post additional information about your computer it may help in finding a solution. Option B, is to try and use the SL Viewer. Visit the Firestorm support page.
