  1. Luc's right. The only file formats acceptable for upload to SL as textures are PNG, TGA, JPG, and BMP.
  2. If they accepted some sort of scripted device and are wearing it, all they have to do is detach it to remove any permission that they would have given implicitly. Open inventory, select the WORN tab, and start systematically removing any objects that do not look familiar. And if they are using a viewer that allows them to have RLV enabled, they should turn it off. Now, there is no script that you could write or get that will protect them. The best thing you can do is identify the griefer and file an AR. Do NOT take any aggressive action yourself. Griefers would like nothing better than to have you attack so that they can righteously file an AR against you and have LL ban you from SL. The wise philosopher, Mr. Miyagi, offered the best advice: "Best defence, not be there."
  3. Try this .... integer gON;default{ touch_start(integer total_number) { if(gON) { llParticleSystem([ PSYS_PART_FLAGS, 0 |PSYS_PART_EMISSIVE_MASK |PSYS_PART_INTERP_COLOR_MASK |PSYS_PART_INTERP_SCALE_MASK |PSYS_PART_TARGET_LINEAR_MASK , PSYS_PART_START_COLOR, <1,1,1>, PSYS_PART_END_COLOR, <0,1,0>, PSYS_PART_START_ALPHA, 0.8, PSYS_PART_END_ALPHA, 0.5, PSYS_SRC_BURST_RATE , 0.0, PSYS_PART_START_SCALE,<0.2,0.2,0.2>, PSYS_PART_END_SCALE,<1.5,1.5,1.5>, PSYS_SRC_BURST_PART_COUNT, 10, PSYS_SRC_TARGET_KEY, llGetKey(), PSYS_SRC_ACCEL, <0.0,0.0,0.0> ]); } else { llParticleSystem([]); } gON = !gON; } } If you look carefully, you'll see that you had commas where a couple of decimal points belonged. I bet no scripter has ever done that before. :smileytongue:
  4. xShaftx wrote: Im getting the same, as far as initializing VFS and then crash logger executes but soonthereafter crashes itself. That's not the same problem, so you really should start your own question so that it doesn't get buried in this one and lost. If you are not getting past the Initializing VFS message, then you actually have a problem with your viewer. You need to clear your cache manually. Locate the folder containing your cached AppData files.... (XP) - C: - Documents and Settings - (USER NAME) - AppData - SecondLife (Vista) - C: - Users - (USER NAME) - AppData - Local - SecondLife (Win 7) - C: - Users - (USER NAME) - AppData - Roaming - SecondLife Log out of SL and then delete the contents of that folder. Then .... 1.Log back into SL, to a quiet region (try Smith or Pooley). On your inventory window, click “Recent Items”. 2.Wait for your inventory to repopulate fully. The process may be sped up, if necessary, by typing random letters into the search bar. 3.While inventory repopulates, do not teleport anywhere, and do not attempt to access anything in your inventory. Talk to people or surf the web, or just go out for coffee 4.Watch as it repopulates. As long as you can see (Fetched…) at the top of the inventory window, it is still loading. 5.Once inventory has repopulated, log out of SL once more, then log back in.
  5. Lost inventory is often the result of having your locally cached copy of inventory get out of sync with what's on SL's servers. Sometimes a simple clearing of your cache is all that it takes to put things back in order. Often, though, it's more effective to clear cache manually from outside SL. See http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_cache_clear for instructions that will apply to any viewer. If even that process doesn't recover your lost items, you may need to contact LL's support in Live Chat.

Ongoing Issue with Offline RegionsPosted by Status Desk on November 12th, 2011 at 10:29 am PST [postED 10:28AM PST, 12 November 2011] We are aware of a problem that causes regions to go offline more frequently than normal. Our developers were alerted to the issue over the weekend and continue to work around the clock towards a solution. We understand how disruptive this is to your inworld experience. If your region is offline, please go to your support portal and submit a case using the following types: “Land & Region” > “Report an Offline Region”. This queue is being closely monitored to ensure the fastest turnaround possible. We will post an update as soon as we have more information on resolution. Try logging on to another region. Try Pooley, Smith, Furball, or Aqua, each of which is normally a quiet, low-lag sim, then see where you can TP to.
  7. Most builders I know are really obsessive about getting things just right before they sell a boxed structure. Send the creator an IM or a notecard to explain the problem and ask for a replacement. I would be very surprised if you didn't get a prompt response. It's possible, of course, that LL's servers are messing things up for you. There have been a lot of server issues in the past few days, and I objects have been unusually slow to rez for me today, in particular. You might just want to wait a day or so and see if this week's server tweaks make things better.
  8. Hay muy buena información aquí>>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Parcel-media/ta-p/700097. (Sólo en Inglés. Lo siento.)
  9. See Nalates's answer to this same question here >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/message/qaq-p/1233797. I suspect we are going to be seeing this one a lot in the next few weeks, as Google's translation API finally bites the dust.
  10. It's just another role play game. Go to Marketplace and type in an obvious keyword like "baby" or "pregnant." You'll find several items you can buy to help you pretend to be pregnant.
  11. I don't care for the "follow" option either, but I don't believe that there's any way to turn it off. Muting should not have any effect either, since that is an in-world function. This "following" business is part of LL's facebooky style for the web profiles. You can make it very dull and boring for anyone to "follow" you, though. Just edit your Privacy settings to make them as restrictive as possible. You can set them so that no one can post to or read your feed, and you can set each of the other options to "Nobody" or "Friends", so that there's essentially nothing for anyone else to see except the very basics that are always visible for anyone.
  12. You will not find any Lindens here. This is a public user-to-user Answer service, so you will not receive any responses from the LL development team. They won't even see this thread. BTW, voice is supported by all of the TPVs, so you ought to be able to choose any one of them if you do not want to use the LL viewer. Also, you can re-install any earlier LL viewer, if you had one that you preferred before. Although many V2/V3 users keep the default "Automatic Upgrade" option checked in Preferences, updates are rarely mandatory, so there is not need to change viewers unless you want to.
  13. So, you are looking for a place to build new objects? Open the Search function in your viewer and look for "sandbox". You will find a long list of places. Choose one that is not near the beginning of the list, so that it will be a quiet place to work. If you are a Premium member of SL, you can use a Premium sandbox >>> http://secondlife.com/destinations/premium/sandboxes
  14. That makes sense. It sort of begs another question, though.... I can't think of a reason you might need to know the mass of an object unless it were physical, and you can't (or shouldn't) make a physical object large enough to hit the new upper limit for prims ..... so again, why bother with llGetMassMKS ?
  15. Ah, OK .... So llGetMassMKS == llGetMass / 1000.0 ? Seems like kind of a useless function to me.
  16. If you are asking about how to set the permissions on objects that you create, see http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Permissions-on-objects/ta-p/700129. If that is not your question, please add more information here so that we can help you. I am guessing that you are not a native speaker of English. If you write your question in simple sentences in your own language, someone here may be able to translate it and give you a better answer.
  17. That's not a compiler or run time error message from any LSL script. My guess is that it's either something coming from your viewer's code or from some other program that you have running on your computer, but I don't have a clue what it is. Maybe Nalates will know, if she stops by here. Tell us more about your computer and which viewer you are using. That might suggest an answer. To add that information, just click on the Options link in the upper right corner of your question here and select EDIT. Do NOT start a new thread, please. ETA: Aha! Nalates got it. :smileywink:
  18. I'm having trouble understanding your question, but I think the best way for you to get an answer to whatever it is, is to call the LL billing office and ask. LL's billing team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Toll-Free (US/Canada) 800.294.1067 Long-Distance 703.286.6277 Local Toll-Free numbers * France: 0805.101.490 * Germany: 0800.664.5510 * Japan: 0066.33.132.830 * Portugal: 800.814.450 * Spain: 800.300.560 * UK: 0800.048.4646 * Support is in English Only
  19. Thank you, Digit. I somehow missed seeing a couple of those as they were introduced. Time to start playing and see what they can do. BTW, llGetMassMKS doesn't show up yet for me. I wonder about that one, though. It's never been clear to me what unit LSL uses for mass, but I have assumed that it was kilos. No? If not, and they had to introduce a whole new function just to apply a constant factor, what unit were they using before?
