  1. I got one of those last night, but I deleted it before rezzing when I saw it had no creator listed, I had know idea what it did until now. Thanks for letting us know.
  2. There was a good post about this about 2 months ago LL actually seam to be reading and taking advice and reacting to comments from the post It was actually looking hopeful that LL was changing some of there ways, but then all most complete silence form them again... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/Next-Marketplace-Banner-and-New-Categories/td-p/1539595 I think one of the problems is that the whole list of categories needs to be redone. One of the most requested changes was to move houses and other complete building out of Building Components. I can't find it ATM but there is all so a JIRA for suggesting new category names. Some of the sub categories are silly to, why have to click to get to a sub category with only 2 category's in it when then could have just been listed in the main category in the first place. Some of the changes that LL made all so showed a disconnect to how people use SL they added the sub categories for multi family building and single family houses to residential structures. I would think that shoppers in SL would be more likely to need to know the size of the foot print more then the family size of the building. For building and other large land structures, a filter for size might be better then more sub categories or in addition to more categories. I don't think there's much of a chance of anything getting done with this until DD is finally working. I'd all so like to see communities as categories that would be able to have Listing Enhancements, it would be a much more direct type of marketing for those markets.
  3. For those of you who are having problems with the Merchant Outbox I just saw in the release notes for v3.3.4 (262321) - Second Life Viewer that was just released a few days ago that they are claiming to have fixed Merchant Outbox import failures for that viewer. No announcement form the commerce team on this, may be it's not been tested yet again...
  4. As many people here have pointed out a lot happens in IM not all ways in group chat at clubs, I for one just don't like trying to keep up with group chat special if it's really active. There's a good chance at clubs that many of the people there are reading your profile, having an interesting, fun, inviting profile is much more likely to get people sending you IMs, I looked at your profile and it says nothing about your personality or interest. One reason people go to clubs to socialize is that it can be hard to talk and run around in a game at the same time (unless your using voie), start a dance animation and your free to socialize with out having to more around a lot. Same reason I like trains in SL you can explore and be free to chat at the same time. Many RP game are very or entirely socially based. If your into golf join some golf groups to meet other people in to golf or to find when there may be golf events, or as other people have suggested start one if there isn't any.
  5. Toysoldier Thor wrote: The idea of dead or abandoned LM's completely goes away now with VLMs. Even if all these users changed the name of their copy of the VLM you gave them, the VLM systems will still automatically update all these VLMs because they are all simply pointers to the VLM-Mapping Service that will always be referenced whenever a user uses the VLM (i.e. clicks on it). I think this is a great idea, I hate having to up date LM in all products, and I'm getting ready to have to do that again soon. VLMs wouldn't completely get rid of dead land marks, it would only update land marks you create it wouldn't be able to up date LM made by some one else, for example a customer that creates their own LM for a store. It all so wouldn't prevent dead LMs or VLMs created by people that leave SL, so may be an option to disable a VLM would be good to. What about having the ability to add an alternate destination to a VLM, for example some one try's to go to your shop and the sim is full or down then the VLM would redirect them to a satellite shop. Or if your shop is on adult land the VLM would redirect some one that is not age verified to a satellite shop not on adult land. The other question I have about VLMs is how would they effect scripting that uses normal LMs, for example tour huds where the maker of the hud wouldn't be the creator of all the VLMs in the hud.
  6. You likely have the hud but just can't see it, I tested today with an alt that has never been to Linden realms, I never saw the crystal counter hud but was able to cash out, when I cashed out I see a small red square in the upper right had corner of my screen, if you don't see that and can't cash out then you didn't get the hud, I left linden realms and came back and got a welcome back message so the game remembered me even with out me seeing the crystal counter. The only other thing not working that I can find is that I did not get the quest, but you don't need that for making L$ I've tested this with firestorm and the LL viewer, The LSL function that attaches the hud are currently being tested on one of the RC channels so there may have been recent changes that are effecting this. Other people are reporting that they don't have any problems so it could be an issue with some viewer preferences that make the crystal counter hud not appear.
  7. Simplest way would be to change the texture on a timer http://lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=LibraryTextureSwitcher If your trying to animate a sphere cut opening and closing then use SetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast with a timer instead of changing the texture. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast if your completely new to scripting then I recommend reading more here http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LSL_Tutorial and all so going to the Collage of scripting and music in world http://slurl.com/secondlife/Horsa/43/236/84
  8. 5 minutes woulden't be that bad to waite, but my record so far is no hud after an hour. I've tested several times and was able to collect and cash out with out the hud appearing, I think it's attached because I still get a red box in the upper right corrner of my screen when I go to cash out, but for some reason it's not showing the cyrstal counter. I'm finding that I collect more crystals if I dont know how many I have, so I don't even waite at all for the hud any more.
  9. Oskar I was reading the JIRA that is requesting scripting functions for light projectors. It was started on 16/NOV/2010 and is still awaiting review. We all so had a long Waite for adding slice to the llSetPrimParams scripts. My question and or suggestion is why are are new build tool features not automatically reviewed for related script functions at the time of their creation? https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SCR-163?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=336076#comment-336076
  10. I just tested cashing out with out the hud and it works, I played for about half an hour and never got the hud, I tried going back to the starting point and jumping off the rocks 3 different times while I was playing, still no hud by the time left. I'm using firestorm, next time I go there I'll try the LL viewer to see if there's any difference. Just tested with the LL viewer and got the hud in under 2 minutes. Linden realms uses the new llAttachToAvatarTemp function for the hud which hasn't been implemented on the main grid yet TPVs may be behind on it's implantation, all thou firestorm didn't use to have this issue, so may be LL has made some updates to it that firestorm haven't had time to adjust for yet.
  11. I'm having the same problem, and the suggested fixes use to work for me but don't seam too now, I just start playing, it may take 15 minutes to rez the hud, but I haven't tried to cash out with out it yet. The more I play the longer it takes to get the hud each time or so it seams, not sure how it works but I wonder if it has some thing to do with the user data base growing as more people play. If I remember correctly one of the things LL is testing with linden realms is a new inworld data base.
  12. Not really bug, but some thing that really bugs me is that when new features to the build tools are added the related LSL functions are not updated, it took years for slice to be added to the SetPrimitavePrams functions, and could be years before light projector prams are added... I filed a JIRA once, after 6 months I gave up checking on it to see if it had been reviewed yet.
  13. I redid my avatar shape several years ago after reading one of your many post on correct avatar size. In doing so I realized the same issue your are bringing up here and took the time to redo all most all the attachments I sell. While worth the effort I have to say it was a monumental pain in the $%#. I had to use a lot of nano prim tricks to do so, and not all shapes could be done that way. In some cases the rework took MUCH longer then the original work. All my new work, I do it with a avatar with a head size of zero. I'm a strong supporter of your correct avatar size quest. As much as having good building practices would still be needed, it would save creators thousands of hours of rework and make all most every attachment instantly compatible with smaller avatars if LL would change the minimum prim size to 0.001 Even more importain now will all the new tiny mesh avatars. That wouldn't solve the problem of new content being made that wouldn't scale down, but would eliminate a lot of the need to use nano prims, and rework. I have no idea if this would even be possible (I'm not a professional programmer) but I would be great if once attached, attachments could be scaled down with less limitations, some thing like this if (object = rezzed) scale = 0.01 if (object = attached) scale = 0.001
  14. New firestorm texture alignment and scale features. http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/firestorm_release_4.1.1.28744_change_log?&#for_builders_and_scripters I tired the new right click drag texture alignment feature works fine, and is fun to play with I can see it being useful at times, but I can't seam to get the scale feature to work. Has any one else had a chance to try this yet I'm wondering if it's a bug or if my mouse has issues. This is a huge update to firestorm lots of other features to check out too.
  15. New LSL editor features in the new firestorm !!! http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_preprocessor All so new feature to be able to right click on an object and gets it's script size and run time. Lots of other new build features too!!! http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/firestorm_release_4.1.1.28744_change_log?&#for_builders_and_scripters

Best regards, ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NO **bleep** SHERLOCK:.. Linden Lab cannot verify, enforce, certify, examine, uphold, or adjudicate a transaction made in their damn own marketplace? Good to know... I would reopen the ticket and explain that this is not a use to user transaction, that it is a malfunction of the market place, if at all passable get the traction # from your customer too. If you have to reopen it several times. After a few times I usually add and opening line that says "you call this customer service!, it's obvious you haven't even read the whole ticket." That doesn't all ways work but at least the answer is not some cookie cutter response. If LL said. [if you decide to take the matter to the Real Life authorities, Linden Lab will be happy to cooperate with your investigations.] Then take them up on it, get a case # from the Better Business Bureau and add that to your next ticket. Last LL should really look at how this effects attracting and keeping new users, if I know this is how SL was run when I got into it 4 years ago I would have just run away as fast as I could. Fixing all the bug and lag in SL will take time to fix all the code, but good customer just takes an attitude adjustment which could happen over night. Considering how important user created content is to SL it's appalling at how LL treats merchants.
  18. In the last 30 days I've only had 47 sales in the last 3 weeks I've only had 13. I don't have inworlds shops any more, they were only about 20% of my sales. Not sure what happened to the market place 3 weeks ago my search placement is all most the same. My best selling items which are all so my highest priced have completely stopped selling in the last 3 weeks too.

Josh Susanto wrote: If there's anything you can conclusively demonstrate as factually incorrect in the review, you might try to threaten legal action against LL, itself, for knowingly perpetuating the false statement. Or you can just show me the review and I can post a screen shot of it somewhere where LL will have to ask me very nicely to take it down as one more publicly explicit example of their misconduct, among my ongoing collection of such. Oh my, what a big hard drive you must have!
  20. They use to be really good about removing bad reviews about failed deliveries because that's not the merchants fault. There's a marketplace policy that merchants giving each other bad reviews. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#re-listing-items [ Anti-Competitive or Abusive Behavior. Examples include, but are not limited to: inflating prices on the SL Marketplace, in comparison to in-world or other e-commerce sites, posting hostile or inauthentic reviews or comments on a competing merchant's items, posting item listings that are abusive or disparaging with respect to another merchant or their products.] The other thing that might work is if the review violates the TOS, but you will have to point that out to the marketplace team. If its a violation of the TOS. For a TOS violation you might try filing an AR or even calling support to report it. If all of that fails there's all ways the Better Business Bureau. Just get a case # and send that with your next ticket.

  22. Last stats I saw suggested that there are more people in SL that live out side the USA. I agree that it would be good for promotions to be more up to date with important holidays, but would love to see LL include holidays from around the world. One thing I love about SL is that it's a world community, RL borders mean very little to me in SL, I wish LL would do more to embrace the diversity of it's resident's.
  23. I started learning LSL 4 years ago and I'm still learning. I had no programming experience when I started, one of the hardest things I had to over come was learning to think like a programmer, I didn't get much of that from learning LSL. The forums are very useful for asking for help and there are lots of good people willing to help, but with out knowing much it was even hard to know what question to ask or how to ask them. I strongly recommend reading a basic book on general programming such as Beginning Programming for Dummies. Much of the LSL wiki is out of date or incomplete, getting a good over view of general programming will help fill in the pieces.
  24. Parrish Ashbourne wrote: This is part of a comment I made on an other thread, I wanted to move it here because this thread seams to have more constructive comments and is all so being watched by the Lindens. I think Masquerade is a great idea for a promotion in SL but to really make it work it needs to go beyond the marketplace, for starters add it to the destination guide for clubs hosting Masquerade Ball or party's during the promotion. Even with the short 3 day notice this still could be pulled off just make the destination guide part happen the last week of the promotion assuming the promotion will run at lest a month long. That would be time enough for club owners to get ready and would give people a reason to go shop to dress up for the Masquerade balls and party's at the end of the promotion. This would all so be good for sales as club owners would need to do some shopping to get their clubs ready for the events. This would turn the promotion from a simple sale into an event where people would have a reason to want to shop, and have some thing to do in their new costumes. This s a great idea, and even if LL doesn't pick up on it, there's nothing stopping people from holding a Masquerade on their own.
