  1. This happens to me, with several different mesh avatars. When it does happen, I find that I cannot remove/add the mesh body, it appears stuck in my viewer, my only option seems to be a relog. It only seems to affect the mesh body, never the mesh hands or feet. I've been wearing the bodies on avatar center, but recently decided to try a different attachement point, I'll be interesed to see if it helps. With others advising trying the center attachement point as a cure, I am not optimistic.
  2. Woot! Jira filed, and less than 6 hours later all fixed! TYVM, Caleb!
  3. beta grid is kind of fluid. It the place I last was rezzing things is gone, I search on "sandbox". Not all allow me to build, not figured out the rhyme or reason. But never had to try more than two to find a suitble place.
  4. Filed the jira, and *tried* to go to the meeting. Sadly, my ISP had other ideas at that time.
  5. I've tried changing my password, to sync my beta grid inventory with my main grid inventory, but two password changes, and a week later, Beta grid stubbornly refuses to change. Anyone know what is going on?
  6. Spot on, Marianne. Slink and Eve are the only "fitting dummies" I can find too. And the different mesh bodies are all rigged quite differently. Amazingly large differences, actually. And trial and error is a terrible way to have to try to fit an avatar. Having said all of that, and of interest to OP: I've had very good luck with Maitreya and clothing from Blueberry.
  7. Some animations - my dance hud for instance, or the pose stand built into Firestorm - make my breasts jiggle when I stop them, and am wearing avatar physics. But try as I might, I cannot make an animation using Qavimator that make them jiggle at all. Even an abrupt change at the end with "ease out" set to zero. Is there some secret, or am I trying to do something unnatural?
  8. I am a fan of mesh avatars. I love them, inspite of the relatively limited amount of clothing available for most of them. The one thing I do not like about them is a bug in SL that makes it so that after I TP, there is a fair chance that my avatar will rezz for me, but not for anyone else in the room. A simple relog fixes, but still, a PIA.
  9. oh my. Not just me. thanks for the info,Whirly!
  10. I've been wearking mesh bodies lately, I have a whole collection. But it seems like once a day, I TP somewhere, but my mesh body rezzes only for me, for no one else. If I try to take it off, it refuses to budge. Or, a variation on the theme, the mesh rezzes, but the control HUD will not work. And again, will not come off when I try to take it off. (same thing with several different mesh bodies, they each have their own hud). And occasional, the body is fine, the hud is fine, but a mesh dress will not rez for othere, lick it does for me, and I cannot take it off. A smimple relog always seems to fix things up, but it is annoying. If I tried to take off an attachment, it is gone when I relog; If I leave them in place, they usually start working by themselves. I am using Firestorm 4.6.9 (42974). And wondering if it is just me, or a general issue. I kind of suspect my ISP and the connection, but thought I would ask here.
  11. Well, a few days later, and the problem is gone. I discounted my ISP, because a friend was having similar problems the day I posted, and since we live several thousand miles apart, I figured it what to be a common cause. But both of our problems went away and have not come back. Wi-fi has been so robust lately, I did not think my ISP could be nearly bad enough to lose 10% of my packets. I was wrong.
  12. For years, packet loss associated with flaky wifi connections in hotels and campgrounds weremy biggest bane in the SL lag area. Then suddenly, last summer anyway, the problem went away. I would hardly *ever* see packet loss, even on a system that was pretty much bandwidth limited. It was like magic, what had been a frequent problem went to a rare event. Well, I have been having some issues at home lately, and finally got around to looking at packet loss. After a year of it being no problem at all, now it is back: 3 to 7 % in a busy sim. My friend last night saw 14% and she had never had a problem. I went out today, went to several busy sims, and had high packet loss in all ~5 +/1 a few %, so I do not think it was a rogue sim last night. So my best guess is a change in server software. (both for the radical improvement last year, and the radical degradation of the last few weeks. Anyone know what is up?
  13. I have a friend, chased out of SL today, for trying to harvest $279 (usd), using paypal. From what I can glean, if you are not a US citizen, and you transfer more than "x" out of SL, then you have to provide firm identity info: governement issued photoid, passport info, RL name, address, and everything. Courtesly of the Patriot Act, from what I can tell. But the LL faq, talks about $20,0000 (USD), how does this relate to $279????? There must be a lower threshold, can anyone enlighten?
  14. toggling the mask mode for the clothing layers can often fix things right up. But if the clothing or underwear layer is sheer, or lacey, it wont look right with alpha maskng enabled. My experience is that not every clothing combo works with tattoos. And some work, but are fussy about the order in which they were applied.
  15. omg, it was hiding in plain sight. I guess I was expecting a file with my name on it.
  16. I use the beta grid a lot, and have made myself completely separate settings.xml files, and chache folders, and chat folders, for logging into the main grid or onto beta grid. I thought I had the instance of me on the beta grid, vs me on the main grid completely separate. But the log off picture is the same. showing me the last place i logged off, be it beat or main grid. Now this is no big deal, of no practical importance at all. But that got me to looking for the actual last image stored, and I can't find the damn thing, and I am frustrated! Can anyone enlighten?
  17. And don't forget, even if *you* do not use advanced materials, all the people who do will see your ugly feet, unless you find an appropriate alpha mask for the shoes in question. There are free masks available on MP. So you can still use the obsolete invisiprim shoes, but it takes a bit of effort.
  18. You need to get the Omega kit: "[LNL] Omega System Kit - Kitties Lair v2.0.7", which contains the script: omega listener script. Rez you body on the ground, drop in the script, and take the body back into inventory. I change the name of the avatar, to say it has the script, otherwise I have two avatars with identical names, one with the script and one without..
  19. I have *never* had to wait more than a few hours for LL to take down a particle emiter. Mainland slim for 7 years. Just had to say.
  20. All I can say is "Yay!!!!!" I have too many vendors where I need to join the group to run them, I've been fresh out of groups for a while Today, I have 18 available! Yay!
  21. Yeah, sometimes. But of late, i find that the only recourse is a reboot. The damn things just lock up, if not in my viewr, then in everyone else's. Almost always cleared up with a reboot, but still, a big PIA
  22. I don't know about Maitreya appliers, but I know that using Omega appliers, I had to get an updated Omega relay after the avatar update, the old one will not work with the newer avatar. I think the texture mapping was changed. Have you checked to see if is a newer version of the Toax applier available? Many suppliers will offer a free update in a case like this. If not, and it is indeed a version/update issue, you could try getting an up to date Omega Relay, and use your existing Omeag suppliers. Good Luck!
  23. One nice thing about the Lena avatars is that they are mod. So you can rez one on the ground, unlink, and then examine the various bits and pieces. And you can add your listener script and build your own appliers. And your appliers can be made to respond to scripts, not just button pushes on a hud. All sorts of fun possibilites. But if you do take one apart, you will see that the skin layer of the avi consists of an upper body mesh and a lower body mesh, each with 8 texture faces (the max for a single mesh). The hud works by using llSetAlpha to toggle the transparency of indivdual texture faces. So what can be done with a hud is quite limited by the underlying structure built into the mesh. The only other approach that I have thought of is to make custom skin textures, with custom regions of those texture set to alpha = 0, to uncouple the aplha mask completely from the texture faces. It kinda works, but then one would need to make a custom skin for each outfit, and apply the skin when the outfit is used, reapply a full skin to undress, apply yet another skin for yet another outfit. This approach will only work for your custom made skins, not skins you buy.
  24. After a nasty crash , i suspect my lappie, But no mesh at all? with FS or with the LL viewer. Any good diagnostics? It worked great yesteday. but no mesh today why, how, huh? ############### Firestorm 4.7.1 (45325) Apr 30 2015 16:16:04 (Firestorm-Beta) with Havok support Release Notes You are at 102.8, 33.5, 24.2 in Skaneateles located at sim10145.agni.lindenlab.com (216.82.49.11:13006) SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Skaneateles/103/34/24 (global coordinates 274,535.0, 264,738.0, 24.2) Second Life Server 15.04.24.301279 Release Notes CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz (2195.06 MHz) Memory: 16362 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 560M/PCIe/SSE2 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 9.18.0013.4475 OpenGL Version: 4.4.0 NVIDIA 344.75 RestrainedLove API: RLV v2.8.0 / RLVa v1.4.10a libcurl Version: libcurl/7.38.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1i zlib/1.2.8 J2C Decoder Version: KDU v7.5 Audio Driver Version: FMOD Ex 4.44.41 Qt Webkit Version: 4.7.1 (version number hard-coded) Voice Server Version: Vivox 4.6.0017.21209 Settings mode: Firestorm Viewer Skin: MetaHarper Modern (CoolOcean) Font Used: Deja Vu (96) Draw distance: 128 Bandwidth: 1500 LOD factor: 2 Render quality: High (5/7) Advanced Lighting Model: Yes Texture memory: 512 MB (1) VFS (cache) creation time (UTC): 2015-5-14T22:36:17 Built with MSVC version 1600 Packets Lost: 3/13,747 (0.0%)
  25. I've had a mainland parcle for nearly 8 years. Had particle spam attacks perhaps a few dozen times. Either they went away by magic, or LL snuffed them *all* after an AR within 8 hours, and most within 2. as they say, ymmv, but that has been my experience.
