I noticed today in my adult club, adult looking avatars were rezzing in as child avatars. When I asked what viewer were they using, they all said firestorm. They then proceeded to say its my viewer's fault (viewer 3). I know that v3 users appear as a cloud now when ruthed. Yet, I have seen old ruthed avatars and always the viewer used is fire storm. So which viewer is at fault. Theirs, for not sending the correct data, or mine, for not translating the data correctly.

You didnt mention what your real photos were about but heres something to concider Any one can upload any picture found on the internet by saving the picture to their computer and uploading it. While people do sell pictures in SL The dont sell for very much Usually in the 10 to 15 Linden range. Just something to think about,

1) Decide what sucessful means to you. Profit? Fun? Large attendance? And aim for that. 2) Start off with a small club and go to a bigger on as your clubmembers go. Keep in mind that larger clubs will cost you more in land rental. A 20 x 20 meter club is fine for a start. 3) The look of your club is important and should match the type of music that is going to be played 4) Learn to dj yourself. (The shoutcast.com has all the programs you need to do it. 5) It is possible to run a club with out using your rl money to do. But it is a lot of hours to make the rent payment (I did this with my classic diner and always made enough to cover at least my tier) 6) As stated above you cant please everyone so you pick what you like and you will attract others that share your interest 7) If you have a regular source of lindens coming in (not counting your club) then hire djs you will pay. The best way to do it is the top the tips method. If the DJ doesnt earn x amount of tips then you top it up. A good number is 1000 for 2 hours. Otherwise hire djs that will work for tips only. They are harder to find but they are out there. Don't be shy about using newbie dj's. I have had great success with them. 8) Hire dj's that will voice over the mic and skip the hostess. The dj can do it or you can. 9) Don't fill your club with table and chairs. No one will sit on them or use them. Dance floor, dj booth, are all you need. Contest board and poles if you are having them. 10) Avoid clutter. Adboards, selling boards, make your place look junky. and they use up prim and create lag . 11) Avoid a lot of rules. My clubs have one rule: Don't do anything that will annoy others.. No other rule is needed. 12) Book your events for your own time zone for the first little while so you can be there to over see. 13) Dont over use the group announcemt. Do one main one with the schedule attached. and then use group IM to announce starting starting and half way points. 14) Contests - Have a 3 panel judge of your staff to choose the winner. This avoids all the pitfalls and people will trust your contests 15) a club is not a square box. You club should have a shape inside and out. Dont have 4 flat walls. 16) Lighting should be kept to miniminm for prim and lag reasons. 17) Buy an intan system 1300 L and then buy some good dances for them 350each. Many people dont know that you can move your avatar up or done on them with cursor keys (no shoes in the floor. Don't put the dance balls themselves out on dance floor. It looks cluttered. As for single dances, I never went with one for each gender. And I only put in about 10 dances. The reason is a lot of people have chims. 18) Most of all do what YOU want. All the advice give worked for the specfic club owners. But we all run our clubs differently. Same with your members. Don't change anything unless you have have gotten a lot of complaints or requests. Club member will spend your money like crazy as they dont know what goes in to running a club . I was still in my "cant let people see me naked " phase most us go through when we join second life. In the throes of passion with a special someone and I decide to take a pick using the contrl S keyboard options. This was gonna be a great pic Hit contol H by mistake Home happened to smack dab in the middle of a club. And so was I stark naked point out the ceiling. I remember feeling foolish,embarresed, and horrified. I got back back to the bedroom and I am asked "Where did I go so suddenly" I explained my predicament and the person said Whew, I though you were making a comment on my love making! Regarding Shoddy Service: Now this is just for conversation and is no way are reflection on the poster who commented about shoddy service. You do realize your setting the expectation and expecting LL to meet your expectations of what is concider proper value for service rendered. And what you concider prover value may or not be the same as some one else. And might I ask is there anywhere that linden agreed to provide you with your level of service in exchange for the money you gave them. Please don't get me wrong I am merely trying to point out how some time we set ourselves up. This happens with all interactions. We believe something is implied when in actually it is not be we think that is the proper way. I guess that why crashes on computers, glitches in games dont get me riled up. I accept the programs as offered and hope that improvements are in the works.

dres my conversation is in the general not specific I took your comment about "if I have a complaint I should be able to voice it" as mean you though i meant your should be silenced And you did say correct me if I am wrong "I have invested lots in Second life, I support them" I took that to mean you have spend a lot of money on using there program. And while yes many people know what the money is for they act like they are equal partners in the company. But many people don't and they get the wrong idea from posters who treat the program as if is it theirs. I know you were extremely agitated which is why i didnt take offense to your comments about it being my job and if i didnt like it get another job lol I hope you understand now that it was not the complaining I was refering it was the way it was being done.

I have also watch the people complain about the same things for four years. And you maybe be surprised that I agree with you. If its frustrated you and its being been going on for years then of course the posts get hyper. But what I am saying is people are get mad over something they have no say in. And counter this is years of people having to listen to the same rants over and over. They can offer a suggestion but thats it. But most people feel the frustration but most dont act upon it in agressive ways. The only reason that has been happening is because lindens have allowed it to done on there forums. Its like a mosquite chipping away a boulder dam with its stabber (Can't remember what the dang thing is called) So my question is why are people getting frustrated and mad over something you have no control over. What is the point to it. You aren going to change it so live with it you can. Enjoy the the good parts, curse the bad parts privately. my understanding is that CC only work for United States Canada can use paypal The rest have to punch in the number on their ID card. If you can find someone from the same country as you and ask what type of Id they used. If none of that works then you are left with no other option other than to send a noterized copy of your ID to Linden Labs. Be sure to send it registered so only they can recieve it.

this happened to a friend of mine once only the poor thing appear topless in a crowd at a dance club lol That time is had something do with how the top was made. Some times is just a matter of the database not updating fast enough so the items dont appear. Often this corrects is self in short period of time. Also type the items in search they may not have gone into the folder you didnt expect. Sometime clothes go into the obect folder.

Further info My understanding is the lindens you sell go into a list and people who are buy lindens are matched with you. If currently linden purchase is low and there are linden sellers above you in the list, your US dollar amount may not appear right away. Rest assured that you will get your US dollars. It may not be right away.

If its a radio stream the stream may have reached it limits of listeners. You wont be able to connect to it untill someone disconnects. Also it does happen but sometimes your modem on your computer cant find its way to connect the the streams computer. Or perhaps there is high net congestion in your area of the world. Just keep trying it will click in Oh and make sure music volume control didnt get turned down or off. Its weird how this can happen lol Seen it many times.

I got of topic in another thread and opened my yap about how certain people should not treat the staff of linden labs as nasty as there are. Another member questioned why I wanted to silence these disenters. I pointed out that I didn't want to silence them on that the method is which they make their complaint known was derogatory to the staff and the company that makes the game possible. The other member felt people that invest and support linden labs by paying real life money should be allowed to complain in any manner they see fit. I respond by saying the money you are paying is moot. You pay for special privileged not given to the free members not for a perfect game. I then stated that big companies would love to give customers but they will do according to there business practices and not on the demands of the customer. And while they want to please you if they can't you are free to take you money else well as they have more customers join. This is what happened in nut shell. To continue: Regarding the purchase of Sims: You are paying an access fee to the virtual area you didn't buy it. This give you access to have more control over your playing experience. To have lots of prims so you can be creative. So you can set up your own little kingdom and make rules and if people don't like it for what ever the reason they can go elsewhere Again it does give you the right to a bug free game. Business in not in the customer pleasing game. Its about making money. And many people think a business makes money by making a customer they want. Not so, they make money by providing a product or service a large amount of people want. Business would rather lose the money from one customer than to have to put with a customer who always complains or is rude to their staff. This is what I mean by what you give linden labs is a moot point. And the reason it is moot is there is some one right behind paying the money in that you stopped giving And ironically I used to be one of those who thought my business meant something to business that cares. While working for a major retail chain, I finally work up to reality. Now I am not saying LL is a heart corporation. But linden labs is a business. And they have certain business practices that they are implemented for what they hope will continue to take SL into the future. They know about all the bugs, but money may not have been a lot to fix these bugs until next quarter or the quarter have that. And they don't tell you this because while that's their plan that plan may have to change. budgets have been allotted. Your particular complaint may be farther down the list or it may be on the listfor the first quarter of next year. Staff have already been allocated on their projects and there was not enough to cover your complaint. I saw some where member said they should fix what wrong and not introduce new content. Simple in theory Not it in Business. Why waste the man hours when future plans may make the complaint irrelevant. Or your complaint may be deemed by the LL to be of such minor inconvenience that its in the "No assignments, pick something here to work on" pile But most of all New content is important to keep the interest alive in the program. Or part of a strategy to bring in more people. More people means more income. More income can mean more staff to work on those bugs. But the whole gist of my conversation on the other thread was not about the complaining but how the complaining was done. I was talking about the complaints where the staff were called names, and how LL and its employees don't care or listen. First time LL hear the complaint they mark it down. It will be eventually schedule for a fix. Any other complaint of the same nature would just be ignored. They have it They know about it. Not more to be said till a patch comes out. Getting angry and threatening to go somewhere has no effect on a business. Most of the complaints is see are valid ones. Ones that would improve the game if fixed. But what many people don't seem realize that programmers can not just pick a bug out of millions of lines of code. Before they can do that they have to replicate the bug. What might get you a faster fix is send linden labs information on what was happening when bug occurred. What your system specs are, what did you last do before the bug happened. Helping them will get the bug fixed a lot faster than calling them names and ranting about how your are being disrespected. And it may be a bug that just can't be fixed without screwing up something else. So its decided to just leave it. Most programs go through a ground up rebuild at one time or another and fixing it then might be more cost effective. I will stop for now and let people respond. But I want to say one last time I would never take away someone's right to speak out, but I will support limitation on "How it is said" I look forward to your opinions .

Linden Labs will remove from a player's inventory any unworldly item that was copies not purchased (as in not put in the public domain by its creator. IE : Animations. For while there was a bunch of pirated animations going around. Linden Labs enforces its rules with warnings account suspensions and denial of service either by computer id or IP address. Linden Labs will investigate any complaints regarding child avatar participating in adult actives. As well as gambling, and real life criminal activity being done through second life and will pass the information on to RL authorities. Not sure if you want to know this but there are prisons in SL but this is the roleplay aspect any policing done there usually involves a sexual aspect. You know what I find really interesting is once again SL has managed to emulate a real life aspect. Even in real life no one wants the police around lol oh one more thing: While we talk of ownership, we really don't own anything. Like anything virtual it is only the appearance of ownership. Hence is someone were to steal my car in SL . Nothing has really been stolen, Its a computer image. And as per the EULA Linden Labs own that. Anything made on SL is owned by LINDEN LABS. HENCE they can shut down any business and not return any linden investment in that business. When gambling was outlawed, boy were those people not happy. Now this does not apply to creative works. so if you design something and create it inword no one as the right to take it and call it there's. Not sure about copycat items But this is only in world. So in essence there really is no need for a police force here. Now perhaps a real police force to investigate criminal activity may one day appear but I don't think you will see them wearing uniforms

Intereting Topic I love it. But I would like to draw attention to some errors (no doubt by acccident) that appeared in the OP's original essay. First, gay pride days have been held at Disney Land. . So sexuality is found at Disneyland. Disneyland wanted to make it pure there but were unable to. (Not sure if they still hold them but I know they did cause I was surprised to hear it happen. Secondly, Disneyland was built so that Families could have a safe and clean place to go. Walt once tried to take his daughters to an amusement park and was so disgust with the garbage, broken down rides, etc he decided right there he would build his own and make it a place where parents could safely take their children. But he knew that parents get bored and then drag the kids away costing him potential sales so he decided to include places and rides for adults. Finally, Disneyland is pure and sweet but the Disney corporation is not. Family movies were not paying the bills and the created an adult division (Can't think of the name right now) and it very first movie and a topless female in it. Any one remember the movie Splash. And to top it all off Disney himself was antisemetic. But a great piece of work all the same. One other thing, The Disney Corporation was merciless in scaring the crap out of adoring fans who had put up websites about there favorite Disney character and used a image from one of the movies or cartoon. Sounds like a call center somewhere. And the call center may not have access to non-american areas if in a country like the phillipines. This could be local in that the UK user base is not high enough to warrent the cost of hiring a call center, or could be goverment regulation somewhere. And of course you know, you wont get discount.
