  1. I will second Bear on this : Raglan Shire with the Artwalk running this month is a super great idea for an inworld meet up time. This community is on top really welcoming and the artwalk is a wonderful art event. It would make the place perfect for your purpose.
  2. your problem with the hud can be caused by the lag. sometimes you cant detach smth bec of that. A relog, usually fix that. So hopefully, at your next log it will be fixed. Also, make sure you are on a land that allows scripts to work. Otherwise, you cant make work the hud. That is probably also one of the reason for your pb.
  3. Hello Glazig First if you use body AND head mesh and if there is an alpha for both in the Lelutka folder, then you should use that one instead, so you need only one alpha. Secondly, when you want to wear more than one alpha, right click on the alpha in your folder and choose ADD and not WEAR. it will add so you wont lose the other alpha you are wearing. You can wear till 5 alphas that way. Then if you add mesh clothes over your mesh body you dont need to wear the alpha layers provided in the folder. You need to use your maitreya hud. For expanding it, you need to click on it. If this doesnt work, unwear and re-wear, and click again. it should expand itself. Then on the hud, at the alpha tab, u can select the parts of your mesh body you want to hide, in order they dont go thru the mesh clothes. just click on those parts or on the buttons on the center of the tab if you want to hide a larger part. Hope this help
  4. well, i must confess i barely understand what you are explaining in the second part of your post but ... about your inventory updated in the beta grid, here is how to do : you must reset your password from your dashboard and then you must wait 24 hours. After 24 hours your inventory in the beta grid will be updated to the one you have today.
  5. hum, by looking at your pics im not sure it comes from you. How do other avatars see you ? Do you have basic shaders enabled (in your preference menu/graphic tab) ? if not, and if your laptop can handle it, enable it, you should see the avatar better. but i dont think that will fix totally
  6. To add to Maddie's answer, try unchecking the "hardware skinning" on the graphic tab in the preference menu. If your pb comes from the AMD graph card, it should fix. You will lose a bit of performances but you'll know the pb is the AMD driver, so you may try Maddie's suggestion
  7. Well my experience with hippo services hasnt been better than yours. i had a pb for making the group members connect to their account. They are supposed to go at hippo's sim and touch a sign wich give them a link and a password. Pb is that the link they give is a link for the holder of the system not for the members of the groups. So it took me 1 whole week to finally fig out that was the pb. Meanwhile, i ve been submitting ticket, without success, so like you i paid for the pro service and started to flood them with tickets and well, i started to be less kind in them. So they finally answered and their answer wasnt right. Once i fig out the pb by myself and the right web adress for the group members can log into their account and manage their group subscriptions, i suggested Hippo's guy to fix the url in their sign. Guess what ? To my knowledge they never did, everytime i went back there, the url was the same. Aside that the hippo group thing was working fine, but i ve been really happy to never need again anything from their "customer support service" (which can not even been called like that bec the support is really close to zero). And well, after some monthes, i stop needing using this system, as i got it for a specific sl group that i left some monthes after. Why do u need hippo groups ? Can't this be replaced by a subscribe o matic for example ? or even an inworld mailer ? It depend your need.
  8. Hippo Tech has a website where you can submit a ticket if there is a problem. From my experience, it's pretty much impossible to reach someone inworld. I even tried to join their group and well i couldnt get any support either from there; The best to do is to go to their website in the ticket section and submit a ticket there. You ll get an answer within some days maximum.
  9. try going in a water region like Pooley and then relog from there. It can be a bug on a server too.
  10. Did you try to relog ? Usually it helps.
  11. ah i understand better what u meant. Well about the reasons creators dont give mod perms, im not sure it's always bec they are afraid of copyboting. Slink, for example, doesnt want to have to deal with constant ppl coming back bec they messed with their mesh body and need it to fix or a new one. This would need a whole person deeded to such service and well this has a cost. I cant talk for the other mesh body creators bec i dont know, but i know for slink, bec this is what the designer told to one of my friend (well placed blogger) recently. But as a fashion designer i can talk for myself, i can tell you that i dont like to sell my stuffs with mod perms either if the item is rigged. Customers wont be able to resize the item anyway bec it's rigged. Changing the texture ? well, i spend a big ammount to create the textures i apply on the meshes. So i sell the item with MY texture. If they wish to change the texture then they just need to get a mesh template without a texture. Now that im feeling more at ease with blender and will create more of my own meshes the question is back and i still dont have the answer. My latest mesh is a hat, ill sell it with mod perms because it's not rigged so mod perm is needed anyway. For the rigged meshes i still don't know. I dont sell Full perm stuffs, i sell meshes with MY own textures. It's a whole product. but the idea to make them no mod bec im afraid of being copyboted never reached my mind, bec perms wont change anything if that has to happen. I didnt know about the layers over the body. That makes sense indeed and i understand what you mean now. Yes maybe the solution would be to provide the mesh body in several versions with diff set of layers. Maybe that could be suggested to them. it looks like a real great idea indeed.

"As long as you comply with the terms and conditions below, both Linden Lab and the Residents of Second Life (collectively, “we”) grant you the following copyright licenses: A License To Capture. You may take snapshots and capture machinima of the 3D content we created that is displayed in-world, and A License To Use. You may use the resulting snapshot or machinima within or outside of Second Life in any current or future media." In short you can. As long as you respect this : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Snapshot_and_machinima_policy the restrictions are mainly about privacy, asking consent in some cases. And you cant use trademarks of LL or residents. Read the page i linked, all is there.
  13. perms are the decision of the creator. Decision of the customer is to purchase or not. The product is sold no mod, if you go for it, then u get it without mod perms. That's the deal. I havent noticed a so big diffence between my default avatar behind and the one while wearing my mesh body. So well, ill check that more closely when ill be online, but to me they seem quite similar. The only thing : yes, my body is now a bit more muscled. I was using mostly size S and now its 50 % of the time size M and 50 % size S. But for the mod perm, you say " there is no rational reason to have them no-mod, only reasons of people who are paranoid and don't understand technology." and id say that there is no rational reason to give mod perm to ppl on a mesh that is rigged. i dont understand what you mean when u say you apply 1 bit alpha ? how do you apply 1 bit alpha ? with an applier ? I think i've read that there is an SL limitation that cant make work appliers for alpha as they are not same than textures, thus it turns in white (i know, i made the test too, right after i got my mesh body). So the interesting question here is can you do that with belleza body ? You can tint individual portions too, u just have to create a template and add it to an applier, then u can apply it on tatoo, underwear or clothing layer. There is no reason to give mod perms for that either. Also the body mesh scripts are light, i scan my avatar everyday in order to check how much script ressource im wearing and the result is always low. So i dont see any reason to give mod perms for that either. Moreover, im not sure bec im not inworld right now, but it's a lot probable there is a "kill script" button on the hud. so you can do a back up copy and kill the script after you are done with your settings. If there is no button, then yes, i agree that's something they should take in consideration for a future update. Slink physique is no mod either. Altamura either. is the belleza mod ? I never felt the need for mod perms on my mesh body, i still can customize it as i want thru the hud and the shape sliders in apparence menu and i do my own appliers if i need them, so well, i dont need more (for now). PS : the "rant" thing was not forcelly directed to you but just because i ve read a lot of rants about this topic in the forum or elsewhere on the web. we all are different thus we have different kind of expectations, this is why it's great that there is a diversity on the market and so mesh bodies have all their own specificity. It would be boring if the mesh bodies all looked the same, or if we all had the same expectations. :smileywink: ETA : i just checked : there is a kill script button. So you may kill the script of the mesh body from the hud, keeping a back up copy of it of course.
  14. what viewer are you using ? sometimes third party viewers have a lil pb with merchant outbox. firstly, try a relog. Secondly, if it doesnt work, try with the official viewer (if its not the one you are using now) Then you may go back to your usual viewer .
  15. Althought you said maitreya body and tmp head is the look you want, have you tried the new letuka mesh head. It's fully compatible with the maitreya mesh body and it's customizable. So maybe that would be an option ?
  16. yep to see the changes on the color hud you will need to make the luminosity a bit lower, otherwise it's set to 100 by default and changes are not really obvious. Also do not forget to hit the lil button for neck blending. it makes the transition between the mesh body and the default head really smooth. If you use glam affair skins, you just need to fig out which button on the hud is matching with your skin tones. They are all set according to glam affair skin tones, so really there shouldn't be any difference between your head and your mesh body (just use the neck fix button for a perfect match) The musculature of the body will depend on your sl shape. It's fitted, so the mesh body will take the same shape than your sl one. You just have to edit your sl shape for changing the mesh body (although not all the sliders will work, only the one related to avatar bones, that's how fitted mesh works, but i cant remember precisely which ones are the right one, but you'll fig out easily by moving the sliders). I have to say here that i wasnt at first really attracted for getting a mesh body. I was happy with my SL default one that i customized according to my taste. But after Maitreya improved their one in latest march, a friend of mine got one and showed me all the alpha possibilities etc. and well, i decided to give it a try. So i went to buy one, and really i don't regret my decision. I easily accept the few limits a mesh body has ( like 5% of the mesh clothes wont fit, so i wont be able to wear my mesh bodies with those, ...) but the incentives are really great and particularly the rendering of the skin. The skins or clothes appliers look way better on a mesh body than on the default body. Also you can now choose with parts you want to hide with the alpha and you are not forced to wear the whole alpha layer provided with outfit. And this is a really great plus imho, and you avoid the problem of alphas not matching greatly with your default shape. Even if it's not perfect, it's a great improvement for avatar imho.
  17. CheriColette wrote: Quick question Bobby If I was to buy skin, say Glam Affair.....will it apply to my body and standard head? if you buy a glam affair skin, then you dont even need an applier. Maitreya mesh body has all the glam affair skins tones on the hud. You just have to fig out which button is matching with the tone you bought and click on the button. The skin as it's a layer will apply on your default shape, and so on your head. Then wearing the maitreya hud, (and the mesh body) you will just have to click the button AND on the same hud tab you click on the lil button more below for fix neck, which help to blend better so you dont see any difference between your default head and your mesh body. If you buy any other skin from another store, then you 'll need an applier. Some comes in the skin pack, some not, and you must buy separately. You can also avoid an applier if you are at ease with finding the right color on the hud. Maitreya hud has value for hue, saturation and light which make it not so hard (compared to the slink feet hud where you cant adjust the value by numbers, so precision is not possible) but it requieres some skills that come with practice. Some skin stores sells their whole tones in a single pack for maitreya (like Wow, or 7 deadly skin), so you buy the applier one time and you get all the tones. I dont know for other mesh bodies but i think it would work the same, as long as skin creators sell appliers for them. Altamura is a new mesh body, interesting one, and looking good, but for now, there arent any skin available for this mesh body except the one provided in the pack. But i m sure there will be more soon. Also, if you use maitreya mesh body and maitreya feet and/or hands, the applier will apply the skin on them aswell. if you use slink hands and/ or feet, then you will need a slink applier. (or you can use their hud, but lol, as i said, it requires to have some magician skills i dont have). skin and appliers applied you dont see the difference between the different parts of your body. Also, from what i know, the Letuka new mesh head, comes also with glam affair tones on their hud and it's made to match perfectly with the maitreya mesh body. I havent tried the mesh head, but from what i've read in blogs, it's supposed to work really great with the mesh body. Idk, for now im not wanting to change my head lol
  18. well, when a mesh outfit doesnt perfectly fit, i wear the size higher, (i use usually S, so i wear M) OR i modify a bit my shape and i save it on a new layer withh the name of the outfit that i move to the outfit folder, so next time i want to wear this item, ill have the shape ready and my maitreya body will follow this shape. This happened to me some times for legs. Of course, as soon as i change outfit i put back my regular shape so my mesh body changes to the regular one too. I know it's not possible to wear 100 % of the meshes i have in my inventory (83 k items lol) with my mesh body but most of them work (95%). For the ones that doesnt work, well, i dont wear the mesh body then. It's not really a problem, as when i wear a mesh clothes, the appearance of my body will be the same of the mesh clothes itself. So whatever i have under it wont really count. I talked with some experienced pro models in sl about how they use their mesh body with mesh clothes and this is what they adviced to me (wear higher size, or just modify a bit the shape where it doesnt work). and for the fancy cuts, well... dont wear mesh body at all lol. It wont happen so often anyway if you work on the 2 previous advices And let's not forget that a lot of mesh outfits worn on the default sl avatar doesnt work in perfection either, sometimes the alpha layer is just **bleep** (or dont work with all the size, but there is only one alpha in the pack) or sometimes the rigging is so bad that it cant work either. for the skin blend, really it must depend on your WL. And with appliers it works fine. for the neck maitreya hud has a fix button. and well, textures applied on 3 d objects and textures applied on the default avatar will never be 100% rendered same. So it all depend on the WL you are using. sometimes you can see a slight difference . sometimes not. Also you can wear bracelets, choker and shoes with a ring on the ankle if you are not at ease with that. But with the correct appliers normally the difference should be so slight that you shouldnt see it. Something what can happen, is that if your slink feet color isnt reset to zero. So it will change the tone of the skin you got from the applier. You can fix that wearing the slink feet hud and going to the gear on the corner and clicking to "reset to white " on the bottom. Now if you dont use appliers, it's somewhat impossible to get the rigth color on both attachement, Slink hud being totally horrible for setting color manually as you cant do precise changes. I hope this will help you
  19. the best yardsale i know, is Too adorable (they have 3 sims). Price of the rents are affordable, policy is great and there is a good traffic everydays. Sales are doing great. They pay easily the rent and you make a nice benefice too.
  20. The maitreya mesh body is fitted mesh, so it doesnt need to come with mod perms because it will change if you modifiy your shape with the normal tab for changing appearence. So i dont understand this rant about maitreya butt, because it will depend on your shape. I have the Maitreya body and my butt looks pretty nice. Also, i have zero problem for wearing 95 % of my mesh outfits. The only ones i cant wear are those who have fancy cuts but there arent the majority of what i have. Maitreya sends updates regularly and i have good hopes that soon we will get even more possibilities for the alpha cuts. I use the hands coming with the mesh body and for the feet, as most of my shoes are slink only, i use the slink ones and it never caused problem. Well the only lil thing that annoys me, is that the skin appliers are becoming a full business, as i change really often my skin and as i must buy slink AND maitreya appliers on top of the skin itself, sometime it cost an arms. I dont understand why some skin creators sell so expensive appliers while other ones just provide them in the skin pack. An applier is done with the exact same texture they apply on the skin layer. So it's not more work. It's just copying a texture UUID into a script or a notecard, this doesnt justify a high price imho.
  21. I hate this too Bobbie. And i think there is no excuse for not changing the attaching point of a rigged mesh before packing an item. It's not because of the limitation, but because i used to have attached to my right hand .... well... my mesh right hand. and if i wasnt careful and clicked on wear instead of add, then i was losing my hand, and again, i had to dive in my inventory to find it back. Or, you are wearing a dress (attached to a hand), then you want to take a drink, you are not careful, and bam ! you are without the dress ! So now, everytime im wearing something new, i check where it is attached and if it's on the hand, i unwear it and i attach it to left pec or left hip. The items i create and sell are ALL set to be attached elsewhere than on the hand. It takes less than 5 seconds to set them to a right attachement point. And it's a must do imho. But well, people are lazy.
  22. As Ariel said, you probably have derendered the house. This mean the object is still here and visible for other ppl but not for you. As there is 2 kinds of derendering (temporary and permanent), there is 2 way to fix. First one is to relog as suggested Ariel. If you hit accidentally the temporary derender button, this will fix. If you hit the other one (black list) then you must go in your world menu at the top of your screen and find "asset blacklist". Once you have opened this tab, you will see the name of your house there. You just have to click on it and then hit the button "remove from asset blacklist" (or smth like that, im not inworld right now, so i cant rem exactly what is the name of the button). You close the tab and then you relog. you should be able to see your house then .
  23. Maitreya hud as a mask mode for if you want to wear several layers of appliers. the button for each layer (tattoo, underwear and clothing) is below the buttons for top and bottom for each category. Im not inworld right now, so i can check, and i haven't used that feature, but i am sure it's explained in the instruction notecard that comes with the mesh body, as i saw it there.
  24. ok, well , keep us updated. if it's what im suspecting, you may IM me inworld, i ll try to find a moment to come and show you how to do. If it's a problem with physic shapes, i wont be able to help, im afraid. But if it's the usual bug with doors linked, then i can fix it for you and teach you how to do next time.
  25. I am totally fascinated by materials. I have a productline all materials enabled, and i also do sometimes on my regular collection (when i think it's really worth). Althought my comp handle well ALM, it still lowers my fps a bit, and i do prefer a faster fps for my daily use, so i turn them off when I think i dont really need them. It also depend what I'm doing and also my mood. If i am just chating with someone or just managing things for my business (except if i am creating of course) i turn it off bec i dont need it. BUT, if i have to chose between an item materials enabled and the same one without materials, no doubt im going to buy the one that is materials enabled. Even if the price is higher. I have never found such feeling in SL so powerful that when you turn your ALM on and you see materials appears. For me it's the best improvement SL got since i started my secondlife, 6 years ago. So i answered yes to your survey, because i turn ALM on several times a day. So i may say daily. But it's not full time.
