  6. i barely watch tv. My TV is in my bedroom, right in front of my bed, and as i only watch it for falling asleep each night, as there is no way i can find the sleep with darkness and silence. So as i know im not sure to watch smth till the end, i prefer series than movies for this purpose. My fav ever has been for years Law and order ( special victim units & criminal intents) but also, Mr Robot, Breaking Bad and the Following. Recently, i discovered "Orange is the new black" and i really enjoy it.
  7. ok, im going to give my 2 cents here...(just because i havent used this forum yet and i wonder where did go all my post count... but well.. i dont care anyway) I agree with you Phil, yes, SL has changed and im glad it did because IMHO it looks better now. But i disagree with you when you say there is less room for creativity now... Because you seem to focus on prim building activities only. Years ago, before mesh, there were a lot of ppl not skilled for torturing prims, or creating sculpt. But those ppl had other skills like texturing, scripting, animating etc.. They could still use SL for that and if needed they would buy prim templates. Or ppl without texturing skills could buy textures or templates. I think this is the same nowadays, except of course, now its no longer prim but mesh, so ppl doing that part are (for some) not the same (a lot are). You seem to think that creating is only primbuilding, but.... there are a lot of other ways to express creativity within SL. What about those ppl creating a blog, or doing machinima, or writing novels within SL ? Of course also, photographers, sculpters ... And indeed, posers, animators, scripters, texturers and yes, meshers... They are all users.... so it's still user contents... Now i will just add a lil moderation to what i said .....its about the big percentage (you would be surprised) of designers claiming they are doing original mesh, while they dont. Sometimes, they just hire someone to do the job, sometimes they get it on 3D plateforms.... legally or illegally, In most of the cases aggainst SL TOS and in ALL cases its a lie to the customer. For me, i think the big change is here... the vast hypocrisy that invaded the market.... Or maybe it was already like this before mesh... Idk.... When meshs arrived there was a strange feeling that if you dont learn it, you know nothing, you have zero skills, you are nada... So well, maybe "some" could not handle the pressure of that and prefered to lie... Sad. In my case, the pressure has been really painful, however it pissed me so much that it made me put all my effort in learning blender. It's been....omg... so hard, so painful.... but also... so rewarding.... and even if im not a pro mesher and ill never be one, im so super proud each time i finish an item, because it is always better than the one i made before. And without SL i would NEVER ever tried it. So well, SL changed... but again, im not regreting that. On the contrary, im happy it did.

An exact SL replica of an RL object may not be original but it would certainly be a remarkable achievement. There is no such thing as true originality. Everything we create are to some extent inspired by something we have seen of experienced. Reminds me of ICTM (International Council for Traditional Music). When they first tried to define esactly what "traditional music" meant, they ended up with a definition so narrow they couldn't find a single piece of music ever played or written that qualified. They had to change that of course but ti illustrtaes the problem with defining originality. The best definition I can think of is to start with the known and take it into the unknown. I, of course agree that "true originality" doesnt exist bec mother nature have already created everything we could create now. but there is replica and replica. When all your creations are the EXACT replica from rl models, it's a bit disappointing for me. YOu may do exceptionnaly, if you are doing smth about a theme for instance (i did with a blindfold inspired from a D. Bowie video) but you still try to add a bit of yourself in it. and you dont build your Whole collection on that. That's not what i expect from a creator having the word "original" on their adpic. A strict interpretation of that particular part of the TOS would have killed off many, maybe most, of the testure stores for a start. well, as you know im well aware of this part of the TOS for having been N° 2 (for several months) of the group fighting them. Everytime u add smth to the grid from the outside, Everytime you upload smth, whatever its a texture, a sound, an animation or a mesh, or whatever else, YOU MUST GRANT TO LL A FULL LICENCE meaning you are in capacity to grant such licence. For being in capacity to grant such licence it means you have either the copyright, either a full licence yourself. AFAK creative commons and 99 % of the licences given on those mesh web plateforms are not Full licence, but limited licence. and most of the texture in sl are breaking the tos yes. but as we know, LL do not enforce anything in sl So well, i even why wonder we all have been fighting 3 years ago bec well... this is like this tos section never existed :smileylol:

Doing original mesh is starting from nothing, from a cube, a vertice, a curve, a plane, well whatever you will use to start smth from scratch in your 3D software. It gave me nausea, after spending 2 years learning Blender (with a lot of pain), to notice now that most of the ppl claiming everywhere they can they are doing original mesh that they are finally uploading models taken from other plateform and not done by themselves. And they are among the persons selling the most in sl. Not to mention ppl who are maybe doing the original mesh but who have zero originality in the design as they are copying rl models without any modification either. And to come back to the plant maker... its ok, if they dont say its original mesh but its not ok with SL tos. You cant uplaod things u havent done bec the TOS forbide it since 2013. Same with textures. edit typo
  11. oh it's easy ! just go and visit some of the website with mesh stocks and you will recognize a lot of what u see in sl ... (and on top they think we wont notice. I shop tons ! and i have a excellent memory... i had to notice) Im not going to post the url of those websites here but if you want some example IM me. But, i first noticed because i saw the exact same item released at a different time by 2 diff designers. Both claming original mesh and texture. Then it happened again with 2 other brands... and on and on... so this did hit my curiosity and i went to visit some websites in order to check... and well at first, i couldnt believe what i was seing... but well.. it was there... in front of my eyes.... I find it ironic that finally 3 years ago we were fighting against SL tos for they dont steal our intellectual property and finally we are here, 3 years ago, and instead of ours, its the intellectual property of tons of creators outside SL that is stolen thru SL ... . Well ppl may have bought the mesh in all legality. But still, SL TOS forbide to upload everything you have not done yourself. So this is not allowed. But who cares ?

Because it's logical, because it's mathematical (or however u say this in english) The fact the search engine change does NOT change the willings of customers to buy. It changes what they see as result. But if someone is looking for something, they will forcelly end up on a result that will match their expectation and buy. Unless we are said there is a major loss of general sales on the MP, we just can assume the level of sale remain about the same. What changes is who is selling. So mathematically, if some are losing sales, some others are having more sales than usually. (Not me, mine remains the same level). You can bet those ppl with a new amount of sales are not coming to complain in the forum. But of course, its logical the ones losing sales come and complain here. Thus we could think that the new search engine is doing really bad. But to be fair, on the customer point of view. When i do a search now, well, i find more relevant results. Of course, it's far from being perfect but compared to the previous one, i think that searches are giving slightly better results now. So i understand that some merchants benefiting in the past from some type search bias, as said Pamela, are not happy but it doesnt mean the new search engine is worse than the previous one.   14. Regular giftcards (honnest ones) NEVER ask for debit permission. Well i should say "most of them". So if a gift card is asking you for debit permission, make some investigations about who gave it to you and if you find no answer, just delete it.
  15. your internet problem is maybe not totally fixed or it harmed your cache. This happened to me some weeks ago, while on holidays and trying to log with an old laptop and with wifi. So for fixing, you must clear your cache (yes, one of the rare occasion this will fix smth), and then relog, go in and empty place and wait patiently till your inventory is fully loaded. (it might take some time if your inventory is big). That's all. it should be fixed after that. Good luck

In photoshop, i would use patterns First to make the pattern, i would make some tiles or whatever you want on your texture and would make careful to make it seamless, meaning you can repeat the same texture from each side without a difference on the borders. with tiles, its not a big deal to make it seamless. Otherwise there are some free add ons you can find on the web that will help you to make it seamless within pshop. Then i would select the whole seamless texture and go in edit menu > create pattern. Give it a name. Then on your uv map, make a selection of each part and create a layer with each of them (fill with white, or just duplicate the selection from the map) For each layer then u just have to go in the fx menu and go in pattern and then apply your pattern. you can play with the scale of the pattern in order to make it bigger or smaller, and also do not hesitate to try several blending modes as soft light, mulitply or any other, bec if you have a color on the layer for example, results may be different according to it, and you just have to find the one that you prefer. Make sure to use the same pattern scale on front and back part of the clothe (if its a clothe) you can check this inworld applying your texture as local texture (in edit mode, texture tab, click the texture square and check local, then add , select ur texture on your harddrive, says ok, and then cllick the texture in the list. Everytime you will make a change on the pattern scale or setting in your pshop, save it under the same name and it will change it inworld too, so you can have an idea where you must adjust or fix. of course it wont be perfect on the edges, bec its pretty hard job to make no difference on edges within pshop. Blender makes it easier. That said, its possible to do it in pshop (i do) but its hours of works and a lot of bypass way to fig out. Do not forget to copy your ao map and to put it at the top of the layers stack in multiply mode in order to keep the shadows like it has been baked in blender.
  17. My guess is that they are phishing accounts for this purpose. Those accounts are never total new, they always have some monthes if not year of existence and have PIOF. Thus its easy for them to open a mp store. After the phished accounts used for sending nefarious MP links in group chats, and the ones they use for begging in groups and of course the ones they use for stealing rl money from the original account owner, their limitless creativity bring us a new kind of usage for stolen account : open a mp store and sell stolen contents or empty box but advertised as items created by other ppl.
  18. As an update, the stores i mentiones have been taken down and i guess the accounts have been too. Unfortunately, one is already back, with another account, almost same store name than before and with already 4 full pages of stolen contents. I see that one famous template maker had already reviewed and filled dmca again.

No need for kudos anyway lol.. if only we could do same in such circumstances maybe it would be less temptation for the scammers to try as they would be reported and their account canceled fast. I got several ims last night from designers saying they are reporting right away. this morning i m noticing all 3 stores are still up and the 2 more recent, have added more so i went on telling the new victims. It's week end. So i doubt we see solved today anyway.

  21. Yes, well as i am not so often than before roaming in this forum, i dont know who are the creators often here. And as i was not able to log, well at least that was a way to warn them. Since then, i did log and start investigating who are the creators (not always obvious), meanwhile i did find a 3rd store doing same. I sent a nc with link to all the creators i could fig out. One told me she had already flagged and filled DMCA. Other ones will do. One told me that they come back endlessly. And to finish, i even found that they stole pics from bloggers or photographers too, so told those ones aswell everytime i could fig out their name. Well now i think everyone will do their flag, report, dmca etc, and it ll be in LL hands. Till next time they come back... But as i said to someone, we must keep being vigilant, and report to the others when one of us notice such things.
  22. You are welcome Pam. I havent seen furniture there, only full perm templates of apparel and accessories for now. Im about to be done with rl work, so i will try to contact each of the designers stolen as soon as ill be home and inworld. Last time i made this, the store and the account have been shut down within less than 24 hours, so hopefully it ll be same this time. I feel really sorry for the merchants stolen, blah.. (althought i suspect more they are selling empty boxes here... but we never know)
  23. Well, i just found 2 stores full of FP items sold as FP aswell, using exactly the same adpic than the original creators and even the description is a copy and paste. I dont know if they sell empty box or the actually FP items (for which they are of course not allowed to send with full perm and not even to sell as is sold originally) but well, there it is. you go to "building and object components" category and then in "mesh creator tools" and you filter from newest to oldest. It starts at the bottom of the first page and then you ll see the second shameless merchant at the second page too (might be further within some minutes lol ). While of course im not allowed to give you links or names, and as i can't flag them for ip infrigement myself and i cant currently log in order to tell the original creators (im currently still at rl work), i strongly advice you all to give a look if you are a full perm creator because you ll maybe see your some of your items there. It caught my eyes right away so it should catch yours aswell :smileywink:
