Not even that, his vision was to buy russian ICBM and use them to send rats to mars, and he was laughed out of every room. He pitches a wild idea, and the actual engineers and scientists tell him what is possible. Then he pitches his wild idea anyway to attract investors. That is his only talent, not the science, not the vision, attracting investors with impossible promises, AKA snake oil salesman. Sure, he is not going, but he definitely belived he could eyeball a space program and get to mars like that.

What don't you know about in Second Life?

How to sail faster. Even when I think Im doing great, and do a perfect lap, Im always dead last in the scoreboard, like a good 2 minutes behind in a 13-15 min lap. Eventhough Ive been sailing for a while, I guess I still dont know how to sail fast. Oh, and scripting. -

Its definitely a catcall where I live -
Proof was given, but you simply ignore it or dismiss it when it doesnt support your views. The transphobe example is a crystal clear example of this behabiour. He mocks the pronounds people use to identify themselves, clearly transphobic, that is an action he takes, but you dismiss it because he CLAIMS that he is not transphobic by saying that he supports trans people. That is the classic "Im not racist, but..... ". You cant simply claim to support someone, and then undermine them with your actions.

Okay, you searched, but after the evidence that was presented to you, do you need to keep searching? Or can you accept that the man is not flawless and in this particular situation he messed up big time. Because hiring someone to dig up dirt, that´s extremely petty, and it clears all the doubts about what he really meant. So, give us this one, it´s as black and white as you can get with this guy.

I can´t agree with the sentence as a whole. Free speech being the bedrock of a functioning democracy is half truth, there are always necesary limitations, but lets just say that I agree with that part. The second part, claiming that Twitter is the digital town, I disagree completely, Twitter is, more than ever, a private garden at most. Full of biases and flaws, with little accountability and mostly concerned with profit.

Yes, in theory, that would be ideal. However, one of the reasons I dont like Twitter, is the moderation, wich is completely inadecuate for its size, and is very often more concerned with putting out PR fires than making sure the plataform is welcoming or conducive to discussion. Mostly automated and easy to game. So the argument on the floor would be more like wrestling in the mud, if wrestling in the mud was determined by how popular you are, or how many bots you can buy to mass report your opponent. Meanwhile, the cost of keeping the debate open, would be measured in lives.

Alright, I have a couple of issues with that statement, Ill try to articulate them. If we are still talking about Twitter, the plataform is not a News Organization, it´s a social media plataform, most of the information and misinformation is being spread by regular users with no credentials. We could call them opinions, but depending on the popularity of the account, a number of people might take them as fact. The second is not even an issue, just an aside, acredited news organizations, at least the ones worth listening, will consult with profesionals related to the news, for comments, clarification, etc. So while they are not scientific organizations, they (some of them) do plataform scientists, with their biases and all.
