  1. I don't personally think all this is going to work (cleanup on aisle Mobile). Have they seen M land lately? 👀 I couldn't even shop for an animesh pet this past weekend without getting spammed by adult gestures. Hopefully there are no plans for voice chat on mobile, either. I keep mine off (and all sounds), but I've been watching some of those new to Second Life videos out of curiosity (mostly to see how new people take to the Senras) and...oof. M sims are lit.
  2. I saw a comment last night on a video of a guy trying SL for the first time - "The game gave you a James Charles avatar to start off with" And now I can't unsee it. Funny, but still nowhere near the creepiest thing for me.
  3. I don't know about that. The unpredictability of content seems to be one thing Twitch isn't a fan of (and I'd be surprised if Google or Apple let that slide, either - I guess we'll see how that works out).
  4. Pink and teal or I riot. Besides, pastel goth is a thing. Not MY thing, but it's a thing. I could make it work if I had to. 😄
  5. Yes, it's live. I'm watching it on Rowan's YouTube link.
  6. What this person was describing seeing definitely wasn't on the teen grid. 👀 Besides, that would be for 13ish and up.
  7. Yyyyuuuup. One only has to dip into YouTube comments under recent-ish videos to see all the viewers reminiscing about how they started SL at 11-15 years old oh so many years ago, boy those were some good times, this video brings back memories, saw some weird stuff, tho...
  8. Ah, Claude. The sassiest of sassypants. I do wonder if we'll eventually get more information about what SL intends to bring onboard for this proactive moderation and how it'll work, but I doubt they'd let us in on those secrets.
  9. I guess it depends on the model! Much of my freelancing these days involves working on LLM and chatbot training projects. If there's one thing they still struggle with in this here 2024 (aside from totally making things up and getting a bit too sassy for their own good), it's nuance. Maybe one day they'll get there. Maybe. 👀 I personally hate the idea of using AI for content moderation and hope they don't go that route, but that's just me.
  10. Lol. Don't mind me. That part just made me giggle a bit. 😄
  11. Clearly I need to take myself to bed, because this too made me laugh out loud. Oh, I agree with you on this one. I just think it's a big ask. After a good three or four "what is violence, really?" discussions, everyone in-world has to get onboard with moving all their stuff around. Changing sims like musical chairs n whatnot. Maybe it's easier than I'm making it out to be. Not sure. The way I laughed. That attitude is so prevalent in games and films, but something about the "fade to black" part sent me. I've never seen anything - movie, game, TV show - come out and imply that "hey guys don't worry, we're hiding all that icky hand-holding and kissing." They used the word "romance," not sex! Had me straight up wheezing, lol. And they already secured that ESRB Mature 17+ rating from the other stuff so, why not go all in at that point, LMAO. 🤣
  12. Does any rating system do that, though? It would be nice, but they're usually lumped together. Reminds me of a Steam game I looked at the other day. The "Mature Content Description" was quick to assure players that the optional romantic choices/scenes would fade to black, but scenes moving past and interacting with headless bodies were frequent and un-skippable. I laughed out loud. Hard. Yeah, thanks for keeping us safe, I guess. 🙃 Separate ratings here would be rad, but I don't see that happening. It'd take so much work and time to shift things around.
  13. Since we're on the subject and now that I think about it... I've had a rare Linden-sighting once in-world when I was zipping around the grid shopping a long time ago. She was kinda short. Some of the Moles are kinda short, too, no? I mean, don't go by me necessarily since I'm one of those giants n stuff but...still... I'm just thinking back to the Snap-a-Mole thread. Height alone doesn't matter. Raise it. Lower it. Don't worry about anyone who makes it a big deal.
  14. Just wanted to hop back in to remind @Arielle Popstar - your avie is totally fine. Hell, you can even send me style tips. I like it. It's cute. I'd rock it myself. Send me the deets. I ain't skurred to wear it. 😄 (I'm mostly kidding - I have enough human avatars already, but for real, she's cute and I don't see anything wrong with your look at all).
  15. Not exactly. PCs and PC gaming are still quite popular and I don't really see that changing much. Known and lesser-known PC builder brands are currently partnered with the top streamers on Twitch and have ads all over. People are still faithfully following Linus and Gamers Nexus for build advice. Steam is still going strong. r/BuildAPC is huge and extremely active. That's where I've been getting all my recent advice from. 😄 The console market is a bit different. Different audience and games on console are difficult to mod (if you can do it at all - lots of platform rules and mod availability is lower than PC), and the modding communities for open-world games in particular are pretty massive. Plus, there's the entire streaming and YouTuber scene and their audiences who blindly buy whatever their favorite streamer is currently specced out with (and big PC component/peripheral brands like Corsair and Razer are loving that, I'm sure - they also do a lot of sponsoring of both big gaming events and individual streamers/YouTubers). I'll note - many streamers do also stream via PS5 and Xbox Series X, but mostly only exclusive new releases. Most seem to favor PC. Then there are the lifestyle gamers who own everything, too - PC, Xbox, PS5, Switch, Steamdeck, retro consoles, etc. The mobile market is different from both of those, as well. I think it's larger generally, but they aren't the same type of gamers, really. Their tolerance for "creative monetization" (lootboxes, gacha games, etc.) is higher than a lot of PC gamers, for example. Second Life wouldn't really work well on console I don't think, just given how content is constantly being added and how laggy things can get. Not sure how it's going to work on mobile either. I really think mobile is just going to appeal to current users, but who knows. Short version - nobody's running away from PC, and I do think Second Life will run best there. Console players often look for a different type of experience (very modern, sleek UIs and a tight, snappy response time, much like mobile gamers). Us PC gamers will put up with some major jank that others likely will not tolerate much. 🤣
  16. Major peeve: I can't keep things rezzed worth a damn because I'm on a laptop without a dedicated graphics card and it's struuuugggggggggling, but we're too cute not to share. Here we are in our low rez glory! Not bought any clothes yet. Might not. It's too hard to move around and navigate. Candy Crocky was the only MUST buy this weekend, so mission accomplished, lol.
  17. Nothing at all. No changes. Same avatar styles we've been seeing forever (short, young-looking, cute faces, revealing clothes, anime, cute furry) are still being uploaded to Flickr fashion groups and appearing in ads. I haven't gone shopping yet, so I haven't seen who is running around in stores on adult land this weekend, but I wouldn't be surprised to see similar avies there either. Yep. Either people haven't heard yet or they aren't overly concerned.
  18. I'm not asking myself any of that, especially not after my romp through Flickr and Seraphim.
  19. Discord, social media, and blogs are all open for discussion. Still, I still don't think word is really out there among the general population yet as I've not seen much conversation on the topic outside of here. No changes being made to the types of avatars showing up in Flickr fashion groups. Ads look the same as ever. There are a few tweets and posts floating around. I assume most discussion (not counting the forum) is internal and happening in community-based groups inside and outside of SL. Everyone else is still doing what they've been doing by the look of it.
  20. Okay, I browsed the sales. And now I'm peeved that I let myself browse the sales. Peeve: There's a lot of cute stuff this weekend and now I want it. Funny, though, for most things I'd want, it was "Ooooo, this would look so cute on my frog!" So, your mileage may vary on the clothing front. All full coverage, though. Also, OMG AAAAHHHH CROCKY IS ON SALE YAAAAAY! I missed him at his release event. Another "this would look so cute with my frog!" thing, for the Princess and the Frog vibes. Don't mind me. Probably getting him in pink, though. Guess I know which avatar to take shopping this weekend.
  21. Now I'm curious. I didn't peek at this weekend's stuff yet. I'll take a look and report back. Peeve: I still need to buy a PSU so I can actually get back on my PC. I just keep getting lost in research and I'm paranoid about buying a dud. I hate spending a lot of money at once so much and the whole ordeal gives me analysis paralysis.
  22. Same. Makeup is super difficult for me to judge, too. I went through phases as a teen - everything from zero makeup at all to can't go out to grab the mail without a full face on. In my 20s, I only bothered with makeup when I went to nightclubs (and that was mostly black or electric blue lipstick and eye makeup and some foundation). After that, I stopped wearing it completely altogether (realizing skin health was way more important than looking cute). In SL, I almost always wear very heavy theatrical and special effects makeup and face tattoos w/materials on both male and female avatars. I'm definitely not worried. The overall look will be what's important at the end of the day. Makeup or height or hairstyle alone won't be enough to go by.
