SuperTom's Christmas Pressie

I wasn't picking on you. I'm sorry I tried to explain why it wasn't funny to me and other left-handed people. And since I already caught a glimpse of some other posts, I'm sorry I bothered trying to be a part of the community. I've been getting the cold shoulder for months now and no one has ever bothered to say why. No point in bothering now. I'll be keeping my opinions to myself from now on since no one likes them and I'm always in the wrong. -

Did you whitelist (in your antivirus and firewall) the vivox.exe? Since voice in SL is Vivox which is owned by Unity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivox From the FS wiki: Voice Issues Please note: Viewers play a minor part in voice functionality. The bulk of voice support is given by the external application called SLVoice, which is made by the SL voice provider, Vivox. Voice failures are almost always due to one of the following reasons: Your ISP is throttling or blocking the voice service; failure of the Vivox service; voice issues on the region you are on; voice being throttled by bandwidth set incorrectly - please check it by following the instructions here; voice hardware (mic, headset) not configured correctly in your operating system settings; voice hardware not configured correctly in the viewer; another application has your voice hardware in use (example, Skype); your anti virus software has βmangledβ the voice application; see steps on this page: here. your firewall is blocking slvoice. Add slvoice to your firewall's exclusion/allow list. -

Apology accepted. No need to apologize a third time. Thank you for the apology. It's kind of rare for people to so easily and freely admit to their mistakes here for some odd reason so it's really refreshing when it does happen. Thank you for that. -

I love it when I run across other people who truly grok SL and LL even when LL doesn't truly grok itself. π -

This! So much this! Do not wait the 5 years either or they may discontinue the modem altogether like they did to us! If nothing else at least check annually and save yourself a lot of heartache, stress and some money. -

Easier said than done since there is a wall with outlets between the living room and my "office" and another one between my office and his. Keep in mind we live in a 14-foot-wide mobile home. In a park with over 300 other mobile homes both single and doublewides. And some are almost as old as I am, while a few are older than I am! So, instead, we trip over cables if we don't nail them up by the ceiling. Now, if he would just do something with all the damned shoes I keep tripping over... βΊοΈ They're his, not mine. -

This is exactly what I think every time I read one of these threads. If only they knew... π -

SuperTom's Christmas Pressie
Silent Mistwalker replied to Adamburp Adamczyk's topic in General Discussion Forum
It really isn't funny. It's ridiculous to have to pay more for things like left-handed scissors when scissors can be made to cut either left or right-handed. While this image was intended as a joke, it's not funny because it is reality. Left-handed people end up paying more just because they are left-handed. That is discrimination. You wouldn't find it funny either if you had had to deal with the crap left-handed people have to put up with. I've been dealing with it for over 60 years. It is NOT fun. -

Count me out. I've grown beyond weary with all the mind games humans keep playing. -

What is a SuperTom? I'll take "I haven't got a clue" for $600, Alex. -
I wouldn't know because I would have left the internet 2/3 years before SL was opened to the public.

What you stated didn't indicate you were referring to notifications only. I'm sure I'm still at fault somehow in your opinion.

I just collapse the categories, so I don't even have to see the different sections in that category.

Neither does. Reactions can't be blocked.

Something I've discovered fairly recently. Low batteries in a wireless mouse can make all kinds of weird things happen. Cleaning the mouse pad helps, too. I use warm water and dish soap. Blot as much excess water with a terrycloth towel, then either blot a bit more with paper towels and use immediately or allow to finish air drying.
