  1. Thank you for this post, Quartz. This is the first time I have seen anyone from LL lay things out in this much detail. While actually setting up a waiting list would be not a big deal, perhaps integration with the current system of releasing homes would be. I appreciate the reassurance from a LL employee that these alternatives have been given serious consideration.
  2. In suburbs in the USA, it’s not unusual to find neighborhood associations that have these kind of covenants. I lived in one such neighborhood for about 15 years, And after renting property in SL I know the craziness going on with some land owners and renters. I wanted a home in Bellisseria to avoid all that mess.
  3. Blush, any thoughts of releasing a version of the really big Winchester add-on with the front downstairs being a great room instead of a garage?
  4. And yes the music can be annoying but at least I know a few ways to personally mute it. Haven’t figured it out for the particle bombs and they have a far worse impact.
  5. The party with the particles being shot all over the region was on the newspaper event list. Fortunately no more are scheduled at that location anytime soon. I had already spoken with the homeowner a few days earlier about the music not being limited to their property. They were polite, apologized and promised to look into it after they finished up an event they were involved with at the time. Unfortunately they forgot to look at the particle bombs, I guess.
  6. One thing that makes me really happy is that the folks creating the add-one are mostly making them mod/copy. It’s fun to experiment with the components!
  7. Laugh all you want, but not being able to see most textures on your property and having particle bombs flying all around isn’t all that much fun. And I’m not even right next door to where the party happened. And last week it was a music object playing all over the area, with me trying everything I could figure out to mute it on my property. Don’t get me wrong, parties are fun, but it’s annoying to put up with all this.
  8. Forum Moderators: maybe a FAQ sticky post would be helpful?
  9. I know that its really only a relatively small group of people (I mean, I spend enough money in SL with only one account, can’t imagine having multiple premium member alts), but isn’t the whole “catch and release” thing really just complicating things for those who want a home and haven’t been able to get one? Yes, maybe it means that a few more homes crop up from time to time outside the official releases , but it also increases the numbers of people trying to get a home during the releases. I’m willing to be that along with the multiple alts, many people who do this are also power users, monitoring the Belli groups and these boards to stay as much in the know as possible. they could even be logged in on multiple browsers with those multiple accounts, all on auto-refresh! I know,, you have a right to do as you wish since you are paying the extra dollars for multiple premium accounts, and are investing so much of your time in trying to get what you want, and its not against the rules or anything. But if I was still trying to get a home and coming to these boards to try and figure out how to do it, it would increase my frustration personally to see people vying for the releases only to ditch them right afterwards.
  10. If you want more space with the Adams, you could get something like this: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/MB-LH-Traditional-Adams-add-on/17150821
  11. Just in case the Lindens and the moles run out of creative names for their community releases, I thought it would be fun to give them some suggestions. Nothing that would be a copyright issue, but names that allude to geeky or cult tv shows, movies or book series would be fun. (BTW, I have wondered why the community my home is in is called Rothacker. Don’t have any clear answers but it is a German last name that is also the last name of a number of professors in American universities...)
  12. Oh, a fellow Rothacker dweller! The neighborhood seems really quiet to me. When I’m typically online - some time between 3 - 7 pm SLT - I don’t see many little dots on the map nearby.
  13. Never have completely gotten the hang of SL photography, but I'm making progress on my house.
  14. Well, I've been trying out my new Vespa-stye scooter, and have found a TON of Linden Homes ready for release at Heirlong (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Heirlong/151/172/22). They've all got green borders around them, I' m assuming that means ready for release?
  15. I dunno... there seemed to be a lot of folks...and and merfolks...at that big sale event a month or so back. 😀
  16. Even mermaids don’t like to have to rotate their furnishings to weird angles...
  17. That’s my issue too. I am one row away from the river. I’d love a water’s edge home but it took so long just to get this one.
  18. There was a recent home and garden event that had a low LI two story skybox intended for use as a photo studio...I am going to try that one... EDITED TO ADD: it was from Zoe, the Urban Photo Studio Skybox, 10LI @ Boardwalk which is still open - http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Von Strauss/75/13/1207
  19. Cato and Lakota, your time will come. I just happened to be home a little early one day and did a random refresh. My hands were shaking when I saw the new homes on the selection screen.
  20. Sorry, it is the Aveline, not the Finley, that will fit on the side wall of the Winchester when the last cabinet on the right is removed.
  21. I went inworld to the shop and bought all three of the Trompe L’oeil kitchens. I think they have got some of the best textures for the price point of $L500 - $L1000. The Finley kitchen fits on the side wall of the Winchester house if you take off the cabinet on the right and resize the pan rack. I would like something of similar quality that is more modern but Loft tends to be expensive. I will check out Aria.
  22. I wish the Finley came with an oven and refrigerator but at least it’s got nice textures!
  23. You know, I am really not a fan of the cedar color exteriors...but all the houses around me were one of the two most popular colors, so I went with something different 😎
