  1. This is exciting. Perhaps next week after all...
  2. That Black Nest set is not cheap (around $L1500 for the PG version), but it is very nice and I can definitely see it in the Log Cabins.
  3. The forums and the blogs leave a virtual "paper trail" whereas if you are not logged in and viewing the chat window, you will miss the announcement.
  4. I imagine that the Lindens have some rationale for how they are approaching the information sharing, but I don't agree with their choices. The Linden Land section of the forums has become an active place...the best place to update users is either here or the blog.
  5. With those names, they have to be log cabins, or campers. But the image suggests log cabins.
  6. Second Life is currently seeing an increase in concurrent users, with so many people being restricted to their homes. This can have an impact on performance, in addition to network bandwidth issues. To deal with lag, I have tried the following, with at least some success: Hooking up to ethernet through the router vs. wifi Turning off/unplugging devices from the local network (I've got about 10 attached to wifi even when my husband isn't home). Rebooting the router. Enabling the UDP and TCP ports on the router needed to optimize running Second Life. Close all group chats. Disable or take off AO's. Reduce graphics quality.
  7. Thanks for posting that. DIdn't come as a surprise. I can see them continuing to release regions of existing home designs as something more do-able with a mostly remote workforce.
  8. The Living Room in my temp Victorian (a Doyle). I call this the "Peacock Room". This is the fireplace from the Trompe Loeil building on sale at Collaborat88.
  9. Yes, I agree. My plans right now are to abandon my current Vic on Sunday evening. If I end up working from home next week, things will be a little more flexible (in my part of the US, schools will be closed starting Monday for at least two weeks, and a number of big employers have already switched to remote work, so its possible my employer will do the same).
  10. As another poster wrote, this is what cell phones are for. Unfortunately the LP isn’t really mobile-friendly (that checkbox).
  11. Fortunately for me I visited there on Sunday before the problem surfaced. I planned to go back in a few days to check out the vendors who were late in getting their items out. Completely off topic, but I was personally thrilled that this month’s round features mostly modest women’s clothing (of the type most women in modern industrial countries would wear IRL). I have no problem with our unlimited choices in the virtual world, but many times I question whether I personally want the styles featured at events to represent/reflect me, even a virtual version of me.
  12. I don't regret buying those Your Dreams weekend special kitchens (which were not modular but had nice texturing) like I regret buying all those low cost Marketplace kitchens that I bought without personally inspecting... 😝
  13. Thanks for posting this. I have the kitchen and hated that there was no option for backs on the pieces. I'll get an update!
  14. This one's "in the works" in a VIctorian but may end up in a Log Cabin! Actually, the kitchen cabinet is out of the. new Trompe Loeil build at Colaborat88 ( it's $L188 and has a great fireplace as well that can be pulled out and used elsewhere). The refrigerator is from MudHoney and the shelving is from Floorplan.
  15. Yes you are correct - the two I mentioned are typically the largest. Steals and Deals is big but has only a few quality vendors (in my opinion). Fifty Linden Friday, Wanderlust Weekend and Manly Weekend are typically worth a look each week.
  16. FYI There are two big weekend sales - Happy Weekend , and The Saturday Sale. They each have a Facebook page – Happy Weekend’s is on Access SL‘s Facebook page. However, the only way I think you can get a listing of every item Included in the sales along with the store locations is to join the groups in world (again, Access for Happy Weekend).
  17. I think I just got the Vic in Bad Unterhof? Corner Lot, kind of smack dab in the middle of Lower Belli?
  18. For a camper lot, that's pretty nice, water on 2 1/2 sides...trying to get a Vic myself...
  19. FYI, Wrong is going to have a modern-style corner kitchen on sale for Happy Weekend (March 7 and 8).
  20. Just found this shop today - Nature's Call https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/5046
  21. Given the action on some other threads today this should become the boilerplate response around here for new Linden Homeowners...
