  1. I find that decorating a Newbrooke backyard that is near water (even just a pond) is quite a different experience than decorating a Newbrooke backyard that just has a view of other houses.
  2. LL has continued to release more Newbrookes so I imagine they are just trying to keep slightly ahead of demand.I've been moving around a lot in the last week, and most of my "catches" have been in the new regions above the first Newbrooke release. Now...sigh...if only I could find that prized combination of water and neighbors that aren't bogging down the region with high load items. In my last several attempts, I have landed oo 1) a region filled with non-LL security orbs, 2) a region with a neighbor that is building a clearly out-of-covenant expansion that is an eyesore, and 3) my current location, with two nearby ponds, but at least one neighbor with a torture chamber full of highly scripted BD__ items (do what you want in your own home, with your avatars, but when you're placing items that have a high impact on the region, it affects all of us...times like these I'm so glad for the derender/blacklist and block annoyance options)
  3. RE that Kraftwork decor set... Just when I'd pretty much written off Hello Tuesday as not even being worth the time it takes to read the note card! Regarding another event, I wish Anthem would not promote anniversary "gifts" that are actually $L50. IMO, $L50 items are a "special offer" not a "gift." Gift implies that the vendor is supplying you a present, not that you have purchased an item.
  4. This is the regex that you can use to eliminate items from the Moles in area search. Place this in the owner box and make sure you have the regex option enabled. ^((?!Mole).)*$
  5. Went back and looked at the kitchen @ Anthem. A no-go for me. The curtain below the sink puts the collection firmly into the Country/Shabby Chic style. But when I saw that the price includes only one color of the cabinets, I just got mad.
  6. I thought the kitchen I saw was less country, but…maybe? It is the only new release kitchen from a well known creator that I am aware of. on another note, I have wondered why Uber has downsized so much (I had thought the kitchen was coming to Uber but apparently it was Anthem). While there is less in all categories at Uber with the new event size, the quality and quantity of home and garden items seems to have been more strongly impacted than the fashion items. I had the tile counter tops in real life and I hated them. They were in the kitchen when we bought the house. Just replaced them a couple months ago. They were hard to clean, and the tile started to fall off of the edges.
  7. I would like to know what is going to be happening in the 1-region wide channel on the eastern side of Newbrooke. Right now I have a parcel that borders the water, and the land slopes down to the water, which I'm not sure that I've seen before in an "unfinished" Linden Home land mass. I'm kind of hoping it's another river, and there will be maybe only one additional row of parcels between the existing parcels and the water.
  8. Tony and Kamalin, I appreciate that you both found ways to "stretch" the design style while still keeping the overall look contemporary!
  9. Regarding the repeat items...one frustration I've had recently is the Your Dreams has been adding things like updated textures to sets and then not connecting the new version to the old version in the redelivery system (I believe they used to connect them, as I was able to get redelivery on items till the last few weeks). So if you try to get a redelivery now, you will not see the old version of the item in your purchases, it's like its been purged. Other sellers tie the two together so you can get a redelivery of the new version, and some even send the new version out automatically. Now, about that kitchen that I thought was coming to Uber...apparently not. I'll have to see if I can figure out which seller I saw the sign at. I don't remember seeing this kitchen before, but as I learned this week at Nutmeg, sometimes sellers have displays that label their products for an event but it's not what is currently at the event (in their case, The Outlet). Maybe it's a matter of just forgetting to take down the promotional signage.
  10. Someone was having just a little too much fun at work...
  11. Seeing this picture makes me think...you COULD put a straight wall kitchen in the two Newbrooke models that have that long hallway with the windows, making a galley kitchen, with the dining room in the area to the left (facing the house) and the living room in the area to the right. Almost makes me want to tear up my current build, switch the house and try it!
  12. Nutmeg is having a 50% off Spring Sale starting tomorrow, April 21, at 9AM SLT. Darn graphic used such a bad typeface that I had to export it and open in Photoshop to confirm that it was indeed 50% and not 30%
  13. Yeah, this sale is all over the place, from stores offering only one item or set, to stores offering anywhere from 30% to 50% off.
  14. Well, here's some bad news about the sale...not every merchant is doing 50% off everything. Hive just has one set of items on sale. Bad Unicorn doesn't have any information up yet on what they are doing.
  15. Writing a list is how I survived the Fancy Decor 50% off sale. I went in one day before the sale, followed around the layout of the store, and wrote down what I wanted. That way, when the sale started, and the region was laggy, I was able to quickly get to what I wanted to purchase. After all the sales we've had recently, I'm pretty much done with Kraftwork, Fancy Decor, and Apple Fall, unless they release something new that I like. But yeah...more 50% off sales. And I was trying to be good till Uber opens on the 25th... I believe based on what I saw this weekend, that a new kitchen will make an appearance at Uber...
  16. Dahlia is also having a 50% off sale... Edited to add: OK, Im just going to list the Home and Garden sellers that are participating...stop at one of the stores and get the hud if you want to visit a bunch of 'em. So, other than Acorn and Dahlia, there's Bad Unicorn, Cinoe, DaD, Di'cor, Hive, Jian, Kraftwork, Luas (they have food, right?)...not sure but I think that's all the home furnishings stores on the sale.
  17. The homes have also gotten a lot larger with later releases, with some of the Newbrooke and Sakura 512 homes being as large as the 2-story Traditionals.
  18. I am rather impressed at the way the Sakura homes have been designed with a combination of practicality/"livability" and Japanese styling. The "livability" of the original Asian Linden Homes was a big issue - so deep into theme and so small they were difficult to furnish, and the lack of windows made them seem very closed-in. In the new homes, there is enough interior detail - in my opinion - for the theme to be distinctive (which has been a complaint with some of the other home styles). On the other hand, since this is "modern" one can pick from a range of design styles for the interior - contemporary, minimalist, mid-century, etc. Or go with more of a traditional Japanese or Asian style.
  19. I've never been good at figuring out where the sound is coming from without using area search. And LOL, recently, I had a first. Cammed into block a TV (that was on), and nearby was a couple....um...coupling. I don't know how I've managed to avoid it before now. I'm no longer in that region (for overall lag and just so-so parcel reasons), so I don't feel too weird mentioning the experience.
  20. I forgot yesterday about one other kind of "phantom" media. I don't know why this happens but for some reason I have had media streams attach to a parcel without me actually doing it. So, just in case, check your own parcel settings.
  21. I would have said Asian but the photo doesn't match. Now if the pizza had had sushi on it or some of the (to us Americans) strange stuff that Koreans put on it (at least, according to KDramas) ... Most of these I get...even though I'd never want jalapeño on a pizza. But....squash? Corn on a cob?
  22. So, regarding the sounds...here's some info based on personal experience and what we discussed here in an earlier thread. Blacklisting/Derendering will usually not get rid of sounds/media emitted by objects like TV's, radios and musical instruments. If you hear a long looping instrumental musical piece, it's likely a musical instrument. If you hear different music or what sounds like a radio station, it's likely a streamer/radio. If you hear what sounds like a TV show or movie, it's likely a TV. TV's that are turned on and/or selected, but not playing a title might also do a shorter repeating loop that includes a few measures of rock music followed by an announcer speaking. It is not unusual to have a neighbor who has left a piano playing or a video running, not realizing that the sound is playing beyond their parcel. You can restrict sounds to your parcel, but as it was hinted above, you will loose the ambient sounds that the Moles have thoughtfully placed in the environment. Your can try and contact the neighbor but if they are offline, it may take time to resolve. Your quickest resolution would likely be to go into the Area Search, the likely object in the results screen, right click on the item in Results, and select "Zoom In." Then when you are zoomed in on the object, right-click on it and select "Annoyance > Block"
