  1. So here is my second decor set for the Newbrooke. This one is the Coniston, which I think is the smallest of the 1024's? I'm amazed at how big the houses have gotten since the days of the traditionals, where then largest model (the Winchester) had basically three rooms, and no area that was easily made into a bathroom. The size of the Newbrookes leads to decorating challenges after the main pieces are put into place. This build is a bit sparse but that was in keeping with the style. I had a lot of darker pieces in the first build, so this time around I went very light (except for a few black pieces in the kitchen). I left all the walls and interior woodwork white and chose a light floor. Here is the outside back. I didn't do anything in the front this time, because I ran out of LI. No hot tub, but I have both a pool and a koi pond.
  2. So, I'm guessing their collaborations are likely excluded....
  3. Bricolage is also having a 50% off sale, through April 1. Mostly of interest in the areas of Victorian/Antique and Shabby Chic styles. Be aware that some of their stuff is not optimized well as far as LI and doesn't have great LOD settings (falls apart pretty quickly when the viewpoint pulls out).
  4. And the rolling home furnishing stores sales continue...for the last three weeks or so, one store or another (Fancy Decor, Fourth Wall, Kactus, Noveny, and so on) has had massive sales for a few days, and it looks like Kraftwork is next... OK, Apple Fall, how about you?
  5. Whenever I've had a property that touches the water, I have been able to rez the boat from my inventory on my land, sit in it, select the boat, and drag it into the "public" water, without any scripts.

  7. Really love what you've done with the Trompe Loeil pool, @EmmaAsht0n
  8. @Marianne Little-- are you really getting rid of all your premium accounts? You've been such a creative inspiration to those of us on the Linden Homes forum...your decor tips will really be missed!
  9. Maybe it depends on what you consider "decent" ... Over in the all-in-one home decor thread, I just posted a list of beds that are under 10 LI. I have a number of others I could post that are in the 10 LI - 11 LI range. And these are not from unknown brands but from stores like Apple Fall, Bazar, Fancy Decor, Fourth Wall, Minimal, Muniick, and Zerkalo. And everything you see in the kitchen below is together under 30 LI (some if it linked) , including the lighting and the prim with the floor texture. Those stools are 3 LI each and I could easily replace them with something with lower LI. Even a lot of recent modular kitchens have pieces that are only 1 LI to 3 LI.
  10. After my LI - busting home decor build out in the Newbrooke Aldridge model, I decided to compile a list of low-LI beds for future use. Here are 16 (EDITED TO ADD: now 18) beds that come in under 10 LI (where possible, the PG version was used for determining LI). Acorn Chesterfield Bed - 8 LI Apple Fall West Village Clinton Bed - 8 LI BAZAR Bohemia Bed (without canopy) - 6 LI BAZAR Toronto-Bed - 9 LI Fancy Decor: Foskett Bed - 4 LI FAYDED - Murphy Bed (undecorated) - 3 LI FAYDED - Murphy Bed (decorated) - 8 LI FINDS Shabby Chic Brass Bed - 7 LI FOURTH WALL Flyta Bed - 7 LI MINIMAL - Comfy Bed - 6 LI Muniick- Essen Bed - 8 LI Soy. 11. Through March 23, Fourth Wall is having a grand opening sale for their new store. 50% off for group members - use the menu option to purchase to get the discount. The group is $L99 to join and they have a whole bunch of new group gifts - living room chairs, end tables, sideboards, bookcases, decor and landscape elements.
  12. A modular kitchen might work for you. Elm's Carissa Kitchen has a narrow stove/oven unit and cabinets that are available in both both narrow and wider versions. Old Barn Door (OBD) has a nice non-modular (u-shape) compact kitchen, actually designed for a tiny house: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/OBD-Tiny-House-Cottage-Kitchen/19479134 I've pulled a lot of kitchens out of the Trompe L'oeil homes and many of them are pretty compact.
  13. There is also a 50% off sale this weekend at Thor. Not generally my cup of tea, but if the shoe fits...
  14. So I am pretty happy with what I have done with the deck/porch area of the Aldridge so far, but fair warning...I have used. up my LI allowance. I might have enough to put back a one-prim-each dresser and mirror in the front bedroom. And I might buy myself enough to be able to unpack a few boxes if I switch out my bathroom for something lower LI. So, anyone who wants a fully decorated house and yard with the Aldridge...it's likely going to be a challenge!
  15. They are the Atelier Burgundy Fluted Panels and I believe they are sold in packs of three tones.
  16. Well, I got a little inspired, and I put "concrete" on the ground and Linden-supplied walls in the backyard where the flat deck/patio area was. I think that's going to work better for me, but still working on the decor and landscaping. One thing to note about much of the Linden-supplied stuff, it doesn't get any smaller when linked together. I have planter arrangements I made today and thought, we'll, it's 5LI or 7LI before linking, surely I'll gain back 1LI or so...but nope. Even all the walls around my new patio do reduce in size a single LI when linked.
  17. I thought I'd start a new thread for decorating SOS as I have come across a challenging decor issue...and maybe this could end up being an ongoing thread. Because, as my recent browsing around my Newbrooke neighborhood revealed, there are a lot of Linden Home residents out there that really need help (whether they know it or not!). They are free to do as they wish (at least inside) but it would be nice to have a specific thread residents could go to in search of pointers and assistance. ------------------------------------------------ So here's my specific issue. It's been a while since I've paid much attention to external decor/landscaping. Stilts and Log Cabins haven't needed much; Fantasy has a rich -exterior landscaping already in place and typically I just added a fountain; I haven't been in a Chalet for very long so I didn't focus on the exterior there, and with Victorians, once I put in a gazebo, perhaps a fountain, and sone structured flower beds I was satisfied. But now that I'm in a Newbrooke I think I need more focus on landscaping, and I want it to coordinate well. I've been to several of the shops in-world that focus on landscaping, and spent a lot of time looking through the Marketplace. And I admit, I'm lost. Perhaps its because it's difficult to isolate the items that would fit well in a Modern theme. Maybe I just am not familiar with the sellers that focus on that style for landscaping products. So, anyone able to help point me in some good directions? Brands? Search terms? I really don't want to spend even more fruitless hours trying to weed out (no pun intended) what I need on Marketplace.
  18. Ha! I'm not the only one! Typically I've just pulled out kitchens, but I should see what else I can harvest!
  19. Marianne Little I just saw your house in-world and I am suitably impressed. The backyard is a truly lovely living space. I am curious as to the source of the addition where your kitchen is located. Did you make that yourself?
  20. It definitely seems like abandons go to the top of the pool, as many of us over the last couple of years have tried to abandon a home of a type that is showing available before we abandon, only to get the exact same home that we just abandoned a few moments before. Which then uses up one of our 5 possible attempts (two if you just acquired the home you abandoned).
  21. Oh, man, I am shuffling over to FD to see what I might want to pick up this weekend. EDITED TO ADD: I just looked at Fancy Decor's website. Do you know that they made IRL versions of their soy candles? They are currently sold out but expect to restock.
  22. Upstairs: blue bedroom (front bedroom): Pink bedroom (back bedroom): Bathroom: I have over 80LI left for more decor and outside. There's a hot tub outside, which I may trade in for one with smaller LI so I can put more items outside.
  23. Here's my work so far on my Aldridge house in Newbrooke. Right inside the front door, looking towards the back of the house: First room on left: home office: Room on right: den:
